Sounds like she took leadership 101 for women from Maria Maher. Just another incompetent unqualified boss who happens to be female. The Department is inundated with their ilk. So it goes....

From what I understand, the PO came to her office and asked her if she had an open door policy like Escalante (previous CMDR) and she told the PO to get out.

Obviously you couldn't pass a promotional exam or you would be one of the bosses on this job.
Flores is book smart who doesn't have any people skills. She ranked in the top 10 on the Lt's list. I don't know how that translates to Merit. Just because someone makes it LEGIT doesn't make them a leader. There are some great Bosses who were Merit.
Your MERIT remarks are over played, give it up.
Okay boys and girls in blue, you keep bitching about these merit picks and you all admit that Mayor Mumbles is behind most of this BS.
I know this has been said before but it needs to be repeated. If you don't vote, nothing will change. Get out there and register and then speak your mind with your vote. It only take 30 minutes every two years at the most. This isn't hard.
The power is in the hands of those that have the ability to make a change. IF your not registered or if you don't exercise your right to vote, then you have no power. It is time to quite complaining and take action.

A P.O. wanders, uninvited, into the D.C.s office and isn't given a cup of coffee and a cookie? You are so right. Get the picket signs and form a line. You can't work under those conditions.
You need an appointment in 025 too; it must be a new commander thing.
Why hasn't a new 011th Dist Commander been named? They're not going to slide that crazy woman back into place after the dust settles a bit, are they?

Great comment linking Flores to Maher. Screaming and yelling for no reason at PO's was a Maher specialty (especially her staff). To think if Cline wouldn't have fell out of favor with the King of assholes we might have a Supt Maher. Maher would have been a front runner had the chips fell just a little differently.
Sorry to the majority of female supervisors (Lt or higher) out there in CPD, you are useless. I don't know what happens to the ladies. I have had good female Sgts who have been promoted and just became awful as a Lt. I do realize this is not exclusive to the ladies. There are plenty of male Lts and higher who are rotten.
Think about the CPD and the comments made on this blog. The CPD doesn't have that many female bosses yet comments are made daily about female supervisors. The list at the top of my head starts with Maher, Crump Hales, Henny Penny, Capt White, Wedster, Flores, Gushes, Moy, 017 female Capt, Ric Flairs wife, and the 019 Female Capt. Those are just a quick thought I'm sure there are quite a few more.
I close with a question. Who is the female Capt on third watch in 005? I don't know if she is still there. She seemed to have her head on straight. I thought her name was Webster. I hope she wasn't the now infamous Ruth Wedster.
I just remembered I forgot Aunt Bea!! That is horrible. I remember when she was a Lt. She wasn't bad. The promotions come to fast for some on this department.
014 is also blessed with a gift Sgt A.B. from 012. We are pleased she left us. She is goody two shoes and will stab you in the back. Waer you back panel.

These are the same people that would talk shit about the way bosses treated them when they were a p.o. and now that they are a boss are even worse. The days of these over promoted merit hacks belittling,taliking, and treating p.o.'s like shit are over!! When she was a Sergeant in 013, she would generate a CR # AT LEAST once a week, sometimes more......for total nonsense each and every time!!

...and, as 09:09AM stated, she made Sgt. and Lt. legit! She is not a "merit" pick. She's the type of person who will eat, breathe, and drink this shit for 6 months prior to a promotional test.
What's wrong with you people. One would hope you would have woke up by now... Flores was picked by HDO and Daley, Weis had nothing to do with it. Who is running the Department you ask? Who do you think, someone signs Weis's check.
To 909 poster since the city did not release who was merit on her sgt test list or the Lt test, how do you know she wasn’t merit? Having worked for her there is no way she is either a)not a merit or b) had the answers b4 the test .She is far too stupid for any other possibilities. When you have to repeat the same things over and over /or give her copies or various reports that she should have had knowledge of so she can do her job by just copying cutting and pasting there is no way she memorized for the tests.

I worker for Maria Maher for a few year and yes she could be a bitch. But at the same time she told you what she expected and went off if you didn't do what she wanted. but once she read the riot act, it was all over. She would also give you credit where credit was due. If you had a problem and went to her, she would back you. She would listen to feed back and go with it if it was feasable. She was a pain, but she was also a boss that would work with you. She may have screamed, but everything was up front and she wasn't a back stabber. You knew up front what time it was with her. If she was going to fuck you, she was straight up about it. more than I can say for the current regime.

So look at it this way-she barely made sgt off the 98 list and suddenly lands in the top ten on this lts test? book smart? I'd rethink that. Could it be she picked better clout to study with?

If Flores threw a tantrum she was wrong, but I also don't see anything wrong with the P.O being politely told to set up an appointment. I too can still remember never even walking in to see the Watch Commander. You were happy to talk to a Sergeant.

Flores is a moron. She was in over her head as a watch commander in 011. She did not what she was doing. She supposedley spent time in narcotics but when some tact guys brought in a warrant to be signed she looked at it like it was chinese and told the officer to come back in a half an hour. The officers went back and just took it back from her and had the day Capt sign it. She thinks she knows stuff but is shaky. You poor bastards in 014

Whether she's merit or not will never affect the paycheck of you or me. The important question here is "What the fuck do you need private time with the Commander for?"

Wrong, wrong, wrong. The officer went in to ask her to sign some training request and she told him that it had to be signed by the W/C (who was on furlo) and to come back when it was. He then got it signed by the Lt. and then she took it.
Relax people, so far so good with her. Although anything could happen...
Enough is enough is right. Come on; if you expect everyone to be so called fair with you and every other p.o. then play fair when it comes to the bosses too. She doesn't have to see the p.o. if she doesn't want to without an appointment. If you ask me he/she is the pompous ass. How did the p.o. make it past the secretary. She's not merit for sure. as a female I have to say I liked Maher. She was very nice to me and encouraging. I would have gladly worked for her. I think that she was a case of if a guy did what she did it was ok but because she was a female there were different expectations. Liked her better than most.
