A Telling Statistic
A violent weeknight during a warm spring break:
- Chicago police are investigating nine separate shootings spanning a 24-hour period that left two dead and seven wounded. The victims' ages ranged from 11 to 27-years-old.
The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the fatalities as Lacharles Johnson, 27, and Jeremy Lindsey, 16, both of Chicago.
And a disturbing trend appears:
- Police have no one in custody in any of the shootings.
The 800-man-shortage in the Detective Division rears it's ugly head. That 30-something percentage clearance rate last year? We'll bet 100 dollars toothpicks it dips lower this year. All thanks to no hiring for two years by Daley.

LIES! Those were all suicides! Or accidents...
Nothing proves Darwin's theory of natural selection more than hot weather in Chicago. Let them kill each other, we'll drop paper after.
once upon a time police officers who worked a watch knew who the shitheads were and could make an arrest to close the case out--- now you have a bunch of police officers sitting on their hands because they don't want to be the next bill cozzi.... you reap the seeds you sow and possum head, you ain't fooling anyone with your bullshit we got your back 200 percent...the only back you got is your own....
And maybe the dumb ass Lt. in Area 2 can negotiate with his detectives about working cases> The Area leads and has led in the amount of murders andAgg. Batt firearms for 2 yers and also leads in clearups but the CLOUT LT. don't get how its being done.
That's alright, because unsolved murders only embolden those with like ambitions.
Thinning the herd by one's own hand, so to speak.
Protect your family, your property, your partner, your friends and your loved ones. Let the rest of it burn and arrive shortly thereafter to cut that GOCR.
005 and 006 are goin' up tonight. Oh, wait...sorry, that's every Friday night.
Stay safe!

Not to worry, in an emergency daley and weis can order hiring to resume on a moment's notice and have perhaps 3 dozen trained police officers out there on the streets in less than two years!
There, now don't you feel better knowing that?
****CITIZEN ALERT****
To everyone who lives in the 18th, 19th, 20th, 23rd and 24th Police Districts. The high taxes you pay for police protection is going to protect those on the west side who pay no such taxes.
On April 1st, 3rd Watch, 25 (twenty five) marked squad cars containing 40 Police Officers and 5 Sergeants were taken from their assigned beats in your areas and sent to the west side in the Austin District. (15th)
You residents and taxpayers should know how your high taxes are being spent. Did you get robbed tonight? Were you the victim of a theft? A burglary? Did you have a traffic accident and did it take unusually long for the police to respond?
Well, get used to it for this is how the current regime is spending your tax money. The command staff is taking police, LOTS of police, from your districts, districts that are already at least 15% under their budgeted strength, and sending them to high crime, low income areas.
If you don't like this you can call Jody Weis, Superintendent of Police at 312-745-6100 and express your displeasure. Be sure to ask why this is being done and why your district is chronically under budgeted strength.
Again, that number is:
Jody Weis, Superintendent of Police

in response to citizen,s on west side pay no taxes, sorry you are wrong ,my taxes were $4,600 last year for my house, and i am a west sider..every time a purchase is made taxes, are paid. so some do pay taxes. but yes the other hoodlums. who walk around with, there pants on the ground''' lol. lol.drinking a 40 ounce.and smoking weed, no job, staying with mama, or grand ma,standing on the corners, for hours at a time watching the cars go by,sitting on the hood of there cars on the street side, with them long ass hair weaves, too little clothes, with meat hanging over the sides, females, loud ass music, pounding from a car that cost $300 with a $2,ooo sound system. with 28 inch tires, throwing garbage out the window as they drive, kids out at 2 a.m. with a breakfast of cheetos and a grape ten cent juice, while mama buys cigs with her link card, from the store owner. who is taking $5.00 for letting her use link to buy cigs.and do'nt forget he feels protected to let the punks stand in front of his store, who in the hell wants to buy when you got 10 thugs blocking your way in.there are good people on the west side. but the hoodlums, out number them so take shovel, and scoop up all the hoodlums and send them to sibera with a coat andbread and water.this will be daleys call to obama''mr. president yes ' mayor we need help down here' it's out of control send in the troops''
Hey, just remember Bill Cozzi and don't do anything proactive. Let this city burn.
slightly off topic--- 42 extra short has been telling union heads that he wants a 4 day work week--- 27 unpaid days is not enough--- this would effectively mean that some of these guys would be over 50 unpaid days a year which is like working a part time job.... with this in mind their is no way that any meaningful hiring of police officers will happen anytime soon... officers, we all took an oath to serve and protect but we never took one to go out and get shot or seriously injured because we don't have enough manpower to handle hostile situations... be very careful out there and wait for your back up....
140 POs are to retire April 15th. Paperwork already processed and approved by pension board.
Let them use the health care we're paying for to treat the stab and gunshot wounds, as well as their flamin' hot-clogged arteries and drug od's.
Animals.
Let em' kill each other, write some paper, have lunch, repeat.
Who cares? Until society as a whole decides to value police, and judge gang-banging pieces of shit for what they are, watch them gun each other down and laugh about it.
50 or so starting the academy this month or next
Congrats Tony, Ed and Charlie you will be missed at Area Three.
Lt D W
Let's see what are clearance rate will be after all the complaining by 35th street about the overtime in the D unit.
Good riddance to both dogs!

There will be more of this...
There will be blood...
There will be redistricting, redeployment, reconfigurement...
There will be more taxes...
If 015 heats up the savages will move their activity...
God how I hate what Daley has done to this city and this Department.
These shootings and murders could NOT happen in Chicago.
Guns are illegal!
We had a crazed father kill his family of three and then shoot himself in the head a couple summers ago in Area 3. It counted as four cleared homicides and covered four uncleared homicides with a "clearance rate" of 50 percent (respectable by today's standard). The homicide clearance rates can be fudged a little bit, too. The "slam-dunks" get counted as well. The media doesn't know this. The clearance rates are not that meanigful. Apples, oranges, etc.
PAX 501

**Effective immediately**
Violent crimes that occur in Area Two will no longer be included in the City of Chicago crime statistics.
Rather than generating RD numbers for such crimes, officers in those districts will distribute pre-printed booklets with directions on how to seek cover and triage gun wounds.
working a beat car I'll respond to radio assignments , do a canvas on every burglary , request an evidence tech , back up fellow officers and that's it
let the real police msf tru tactical gang units do the heavy lifting
remember they get long lunches,go in early and no radio assignments
What are the pod-cameras doing to help!!!!!!!!!!
Why don't they just start giving out IBonds for homicides?
Makes sense, Quinn is going to release them anyway and Dart wants to shutdown the CCDOC.
There's something like ten detectives on the retirement party poster for A/3 16 April. So, chances are there are similar numbers leaving from other areas, too.
Expect to be down another thirty or more detectives by the end of this month. But I'm SURE the clearance rate won't suffer for it.
Coroners report stated all the deaths were due to natural causes.
THIS JUST IN....the Medical examiner's office in Cook County will classify all homicide related incidents involving gunshot victims from Chicago as over doses of lead!
"Rather than generating RD numbers for such crimes, officers in those districts will distribute pre-printed booklets with directions on how to seek cover and triage gun wounds.
