Bad Heroin?

  • Three men were found dead in a South Loop apartment Monday morning, and police believe their deaths were drug-related.

Police and ambulances were called around 11:40 a.m. to 633 S. Plymouth Ct., where they found the three men dead in an apartment, said Chicago Police [...].

Drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in the apartment, he said.
Once again, could someone describe "good heroin" to us? This is the second mass overdose in a few days, but the first resulting in deaths - are we seeing a return of the fentanyl mixture that reduced the junkie population by dozens a few years ago?

This went down in my building. Aside from some minor inconveniences (media people), I couldn't care less about the fate of a three junkies. Good riddance.

It can happen anywhere. This happened in a rented apartment . . . while most of the units in this building are owner occupied. Thanks to the downturn in the real estate market/general economy, I'm seeing more rental turnarounds and strange faces . . . know your neighbors and stay engaged with daily matters.

The best was in (I believe) 1993/94 when two white hypes caught a bad dose at Ohio & Central Park. After tooting a few bags they realized something wasn't right, so instead of heading to the closest hospital, they decided to drive to 011 to report the event. They pulled up in front of the station in their van where both morons died. The van with the two dead junkies inside stayed there for about 12 hours before someone decided to see why the van hadn't moved in some time.

Fucking priceless.

I say fentanyl needs to come back in a BIG way. I see absolutely no downside in as many dope fiends as possible dying.

Given how much progress our Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Sailors are making in rural areas of Afghanistan the dealers are probably back to fentanyl to keep their customers supplied. I haven't seen information on how our anti-opium operations over there are going, but if we have more troops over there less raw opium is probably getting out to turn into heroin.

I tried finding the 'online-job activity report' via my clearpath and no luck. Contacted the telephone number. What a joke...

Yep, I remember that one also. I also remember the 2 parking tickets on the front of the van they were driving, issued at the behest of Nate the Skate, for parking in front of the station. Good times.

Originally morphine was a cure for opium addiction. Heroin was made as a cure for morphine addiction. Fentanyl in sufficient quantities cures drug addiction of all kinds.

To the best of my knowledge of those days neil young was not a heroin user. he did see many of his friends die from heroin use including at least two of his own band members.

That led him to write the song "The Needle And The Damage Done" about the perils of drug addiction.

The whole thing actually fits very neatly into today's drug-treatment trend of "harm reduction." You know, youths sniffing glue under supervised conditions so someone'll be there to call for help if their heart stops, special alcoholics-only housing projects in Seattle, etc.

With fentanyl, the motherf___ers just die -- thereby reducing the vast amount of harm they cause to others.

If it saves just one innocent GPS in a parked car...
