Fender Bender - Shots Fired
Three men are in custody for allegedly firing shots at the personal car of an off duty Chicago Police officer who was in the car early Friday in the Back-of-the-Yards neighborhood on the South Side.
At 12:08 a.m. the off-duty officer was involved in a minor traffic accident at West 47th Street and South Ashland Avenue, according to a Wentworth Area police sergeant who said the vehicle that collided with the officer’s fled the scene after the wreck.
At 12:10 a.m. a 10-1 was called -- meaning an officer needs assistance immediately.
The officer followed the car while asking for help, issuing a description of the fleeing vehicle and prompting several other police units to begin responding, the sergeant said.
But while the officer was at a stop sign at West 46th Street and South Paulina Avenue, four or five shots rang out from another vehicle that was behind the officer -- not the one the officer was following.
Two responding officers were injured during the incident. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

This shit is going to become a common occurrence during the upcoming "Summer of Dude" thanks to king shorty, the alderfools and j-fled emboldening these dogs by blatantly and very publicly disrespecting, marginalizing and head-hunting the Police.
The dogs know this... "Damn Office, ol' boy jody is going after y'all asses" is one bit of idle chit-chat we recall.
The powers that be don't really care that they've cost us control of the streets and have put Policemen in greater personal, career and financial peril than at any time in the Department's history.
Protect yourselves first and foremost.
Protect each other and each other's family.
Let the Crime King, j-fled and the exempts and the alderfools take up patrol to protect everybody else.
They're authorized to carry, aren't they? Since everybody is so against the Police, let those who are in a position to give a fuck (but they don't, just ask 'em, they'll tell ya) come out and show the "out of control" blueshirts how it should be done!
In the meantime...
Change routes going home.
Watch your 6:00.
Caravan with some guys and girls who take the same route.
Never pull up and park... take a couple of laps around the block.
Have enough ammunition and attitude to aggressively finish the fight.
Finish the fight with maximum hatred and extreme prejudice... There should be only one person surviving to tell the turn of events and that's the Policeman.

Actually, it sounds like a set-up, and not like an accident at all.
Gee, if he was able to live in the burbs, he would have been on 55, 290, 94 etc. heading home. but, no. He was driving through the hood smiling that he has a huge 2% raise on the way...

Add to that...
Alway have a fully charged cell phone and have 9-1-1, and the local District desks on voice dial. Know where you can run to if you have to bail out of you vehicle. You should know places on or near your route that are open 24/7 like hospitals, gas stations or stores that have security that you can escape to if need be. You are always the police, but don't get started on anything that could lead to a road rage incident.

Gang bangers have cell phones. Even out in the country a state away, dirt bags call for family backup. At least my dirt bags got time.
