If Only This Was Illinois

  • A man with a concealed-carry permit appeared to be justified when he shot and killed an armed robber on a street here, police said Wednesday.

Christopher Holland, 20, died grasping a .38-caliber revolver after the confrontation about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Police Chief Carl Wolf said. It happened in the 3700 block of Dunn Road, near Cortena Drive.

Investigators will present their findings to the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney's office for review.

They also will perform ballistics tests to determine whether Holland was the robber who fired shots that missed during a struggle with another street holdup victim nearby the week before.
Maybe someday, Illinois will join the ranks of the free and self-reliant citizens.

If the good guy needs any amount of money to secure whatever level of legal representation necessary, I'm sure coppers everywhere will flood this guy's mailbox with checks made out to "cash".

Good job, sir!!!

I'd love to buy you a steak dinner and a night of drinks while you regale me with the details on how you put that dog down.

I'm verklempt. I'm certain the dead mutt was about to make a career choice between neurosurgeon or nuclear physicist. He was only "moonlighting" as an armed robber to buy his pregnant girlfriend some milk.

What would Shortshanks and J-Fled have to say about this surefire DETERRENT to violent crime?

When you need help in seconds, the police are only minutes away.

Typical liberal spin. Instead of saying this may have stopped a robbery pattern and saved some lives we get, "appears to be justified."

Oh no! The citizens might realize guns in the right hands are good.

Why do we allow our rights to be taken away.Time to take back our State and our Country.

You are born with the right to own and carry a weapon in this country. You have a natural right right to defend yourself from harm.

Anyone who impedes that right is the enemy.

Perfect example of "carry and conceal weapon Law" for honest citizens in Illinois!

Can you imagine what would have happened to the bat beating victims in Wicker Park had they had a gun to use on Jagoff for self defense!

I'll bet they wouldn't be laying in a deathbed with a prayer vigil around them!

A fund to be set-up to help out citizen who defend themselves. It could be funded by donations. This is one "charity" I would give to in a heart beat.

Honest citizens willing to go though the process of obtaining a carry permit are part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Most of the police officers I've met believe in the 2nd Amendment and are great guys and gals.

I *thought* Missouri fought shall issue tooth and and nail.

St Louis and Kansas City are hot-beds of liberalism---the rest of the state is right-minded.
