Eight More Shot
In two separate incidents:
- Two men were killed -- one of them an expectant father -- and two others wounded early this morning in a drive-by shooting in the South Side's Stony Island Park neighborhood, according to police and a family member of one of the deceased victims.
- Police are seeking several men who shot at four women, critically injuring two, early Sunday in Chicago's East Garfield Park neighborhood.
J-fled and members of the Policy Group were seen at the hospitals comforting the victims and assuring them that violent crime was actually down this year and these four-at-a-time shootings were merely aberrations and not statistically significant by any means.

Looks like relief may be on the way for the airport.
Isn't that where the last Chief of Patrol went when there were too many people getting shot & killed?
Hang in there Danny Dugan! Downtown Brown should be out there to relieve you shortly!
This amounts to nothing more than urban terrorism. More people get killed in Chicago, than in Iraq.
According to family interviewed on Channel 7 News at 10 p.m. last night (one of them clearly in CPD uniform under soft cloths), "victim" Reginald Riley had NEVER been out that late. He was just getting ready to go to a another "get together" after the one he was leaving when he was gunned-down. He was a good boy who never bothered anyone.
Then...Reggie's picture appears on screen, but not cropped enough to block a peculiar thing he's doing with his right hand. It's a bit distorted from how a hand naturally looks at rest - kinda like he's pointing at something. I've seen this phenomenon elsewhere, usually in the ghetto, but it's significance escapes me at the moment.
Anyone care to run him through I-Clear to see just how much of an altar boy good ol' Reggie REALLY was?
J-FLED ALSO TOLD THEM THAT IF THE SHOOTING WERE "INNIES" THAT THEY WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN COUNTED AT ALL.

The sad part is looking at the comments on Breaking News. Not the shootings, the money we are wasting on public education. Grammar and spelling is atrocious. Seeing it just kills me lol.
OT, power tests ats the academy today. her comes our help...LOL
I'm an officer with LAPD. I am reading through the comments here on this board and elsewhere.
I am disgusted with what the political machine in Chicago has done to your department and your personnel. It angers me to see a proud American police department reduced to this.
I am guessing our current president's connection to Chicago may be the reason why there has been a media blackout as to what's going on there.
I have not heard or seen ANY of this on the mainstream media, particularly the murders of three Chicago Police officers, not to mention all of the citizens. This is an absolute outrage.
I can see you are in about the same position LAPD was in about 10 years ago. It was not long after I joined LAPD and we were living in HELL during the entire time we had Parks as Chief. Same issues you're talking about. We lost 1,732 officers in about 18 months. It destroyed our staffing. Working the Watts area in Southeast, some nights we only had one or two cars to cover an area of 11 square miles with a population of over 100,000 people. It was completely insane. But it was like that throughout the City. Assaults on officers, murders, it never stopped. Morale was terrible, no one wanted to do anything because we were scared of the chief and our own admin. It was anarchy.
I see so many of the same things happening in Chicago as what happened to us, but somehow it's even WORSE there I think.
My prayers are with all my brothers and sisters working for CPD.
May the good Lord help you, because your current leadership will not. They need to be removed, root and branch, at all levels.
You need positive and supportive leadership. It needs to happen now. Stick together on this, because other than God, you're all you've got there for now. We learned this here. God bless you and protect you all and restore your Department and City.
...maybe officers were too busy elsewhere to be a deterrence:

OK -- so what was the weekend total? How many shot, stabbed or beaten and how many died? THese are important numbers ! ! ! Perhaps we should call EB's office and see how the new "change of strategy" is working.
Rumor out of headquarters, the city has not paid the Internet bill for the IAD secret squirrel location and they've been with out Internet or phone lines for the last week.
Now that's funny.
EXCERPTS from Chicago: Where criminals no longer fear the police - Jack Dunphy. “Jack Dunphy” is the pseudonym of an officer with the LAPD.
Chicago’s murder rate, i.e., the number of murders per 100,000 residents, is twice that of Los Angeles and almost three times that of New York.
Comparisons among the three cities’ statistics for robberies and aggravated assaults are similarly lopsided. As horrific as that one weekend in 2008 was in Chicago, whatever dubious records it might have set were eclipsed this year on the weekend of June 18-20, when 54 people were shot in the city, ten of them fatally, surely a mark that would rival that of any three-day period in Detroit, New Orleans, or for that matter, Baghdad or Kabul.
And it gets worse. Three Chicago police officers have been murdered in the last two months, the most recent of whom was Michael Bailey, who at age 62 was only weeks away from retirement.
He was still dressed in his police uniform when someone tried to rob him. Police officers everywhere accept the risks to life and limb attendant to the job, but it’s generally taken for granted among cops that the uniform will serve as a deterrent against being robbed on the street. What level of depravity has a city reached when a uniformed police officer is no safer from a street robbery than anyone else? More important, what is to be done about it?
These are questions some are asking within the Chicago Police Department, where morale among the rank and file is low and falling still. An unsigned essay, purportedly written by a Chicago police officer, has been making its way via e-mail around the department, and it found its way into the Dunphy in-box. Titled “A City At War With Itself — Chicago — a Fast Track to Anarchy,” the essay chronicles the many ways the city’s police department and municipal government have failed to address the rising level of violence.
The author laments the recent history of the Chicago Police Department, which, in his opinion, has descended into chaos and ineffectualness. “In a few short years,” he writes, “[the police department] has deteriorated into a totally demoralized, understaffed police department that criminals no longer fear.”
Here in Los Angeles, we have seen with stunning clarity what happens when criminals no longer fear the police. In 1998, then-LAPD Chief Bernard Parks disbanded the city’s anti-gang units in a misguided and ill-fated response to a scandal involving one such unit at one of the city’s 18 police stations. The results were as tragic as they were predictable: murders in the city, which had been on the decline from their all-time high of 1992, began to climb, increasing from 419 in 1998 to 647 in 2002. Only when Parks was finally shown the exit and the LAPD’s anti-gang efforts were resumed did that trend reverse itself. (There were 308 murders in L.A. in 2009, the lowest total since 1967.)
During that five-year period, Los Angeles passed a tipping point beyond which the LAPD lost — perhaps surrendered — control of the streets. As the number of murders went up, the clearance rate went down, further emboldening those for whom the law held little impediment against their predations on the community. Similar processes are underway in Chicago right now. The police department, underfunded and undermanned, is headed by Superintendent Jody Weis, who was appointed by Mayor Daley in 2008 after a 22-year career with the FBI. Weis, who never served as a police officer, and who since his arrival has made some unpopular decisions, has thus far failed to gain the respect of the rank and file, without which there is little hope of improvement in the department and the city.

Rumor has it that because of the "young aggressive officers" talked to the district commander, bodies won't be sent to the first watch. In the 9th period, 1st watch was supposed to get six officers and if no one voluntarily bid, they would do it by reverse seniority.
I hope it's not true. We really do need help on 1st watch. We have too many cars down, guys working 99 too often and not enough staff.
I have four years and work 1st watch. Why does someone who has like two years get to work 3rd watch anyways.
And yes, to the "young aggressive officers", you can also be a "young aggressive officer" on 1st watch. But based on the recent bitching and moaning, you guys might just get to stay on 1st watch.
20th District 26 July 2010
To: Commander 20th District
From: Sgt. B. **** # ****
Subject: Crime Reduction Suggestions
1. On today’s date, R/Sgt was delivered a report instructing him to submit a report pertaining to decreasing crime in the 20th District. This Report was to be submitted by all Sector Sergeants.
2. As R/Sgt is the Desk Sergeant and not a Sector Sergeant, the suggestions are as follows: I intend to instruct my subordinates to continue to answer phones and take reports in a courteous manner. In addition to this, I intend to suggest that when a person comes into the 20th District for a report and is obviously in great distress, we are to perform a group hug, sing Kumbaya and as a parting gesture, sing a chorus of My Give A Damn’s Busted.
3. If this fails to reduce the crime in Chicago and the 20th District, I propose that the Department should form a new unit, the Criminal Containment Unit composed of Former Marines and Army Pukes with heavy weapons backgrounds. All gang bangers will be rounded up and deposited on Goose Island for a temporary holding area. The Unit, as it shall be referred to, shall take up strategic posts in heavily fortified bunkers and gun emplacements to contain said gang bangers. The Marine Unit should be detailed to The Unit to assist in all waterborne escape attempts.
4. Once all the emplacements are properly manned and properly supported by Logistical Support Teams (formerly known as CAPS Officers), The gang bangers will be allowed to commence competition for supreme dominance amongst all others. When the last gang banger is left standing, he should be charged with Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Failure to Register a Firearm.
5. His trial should be held in an expeditious manner, certainly no later than 1 hour after charging and once found guilty, the sentence will be executed immediately with the judicious application of a 39 cent projectile strategically placed from a short distance to his cranial area, thereby evacuating his brain matter from the void between his ears.
6. Since disposition of the cadavers resulting from this plan would overload the Medical Examiner’s Office, the area should be used by Army, Navy and Marine Corps Air Wings for Close Air Support Practice with Napalm. Air Force was intentionally excluded as they won’t fly below 5,000 feet and would probably dump more ordinace on supporting units.
7. It is understood that no politician in this city has the stones to support a plan such as this but one can dream.
8. In protest to those ball less wonders, I have submitted my retirement papers, effective C.O.B. 15 August 2010 with plans to free lance as a Mercenary……
9. Take this report as it is meant. If you can’t appreciate it, bite me…….

Inside or outside shootings?
Welcome to CHIraq
OT....but very important...GO BREWERS!
Can't have it both ways, SCC. You whine when the media wrongfully shows police as corrupt, but reference it when it hysterically reports on every shithead shooting on the South and West sides, using it as an example of J-Fed's failure as a supt. Shitheads shoot in the hood--always have, always will. The papers will report what sells papers. The police should in an ideal society be encouraged to hunt down and lock up these shitheads, but ours is far from ideal. Until this changes, police will not change the behavior of the shithead. You want to criticize J-Fed? The list of his shortcomings is so damn long, blaming him and the other usless white shirts around him for the usual South and West side b.s. is weak.
SCC: A little birdy told me that a famous race baiting reverend (JJ) was at HQ giving the Superintendo and the Masterbator a tongue lashing.

This city is doomed.
Failed social experiment.
There's no problem with homicides in Chicago. J-Fled just said so on TV. J-Fled would never lie about that. Now back to reality television. (Extreme sarcasm)
to 1:11pm, the LAPD Officer....was Bernard Parks or Willie from Philly worse?
I'd put our JFled up against both of them for being a prick.
At least Bernie and Willie were cops at one point.
But with all the extra help at the airports, shootings and homicides will be drastically be reduced. Sorry, never mind. I fogot there are no shooting or homicides at the airports. I wonder if we can vote and lease Daley out to be Mayor of another city. We'll take 2-3 dollars for a 25 year lease. Be the best financial deal Chicago ever made.
Thinning the herd.
any one notice that are leaders of the exempt kind have alot of meetingS about stats!
NOW I DONT KNOW ANY COMMANDER WITH A DEGREE IN STATISTICS BUT U GUYS R JUST OUT AND OUT BULLSHITTING THE WHOLE CITY.
THE SUN-TIMES DID AN ARTICLE ON CELL PHONE TICKETS???
ASK FOR INFO ON HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN STRUCK BY BULLETS THIS YEAR.
AND DONT ASK FOR AGGRAVATED BATTERY EITHER.
ASK FOR THE AMOUNT OF PHYSICAL ARREST BY DISTRICTS.
THEN ASK FOR THE SAME STATS FROM ALL THOSE SPECIALIZED UNITS.
ASK FOR THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF OPEN HOMICIDES AND I MEAN GO WAY BACK 50'S-60-70'-80-90
U KNOW THE COLD CASE THEY SHOULD HAVE THOSE NUMBERS. AND DOES ANYONE LOOK AT THEM?
ASK FOR HOW MANY WARRANTS ARE ACTIVE IN EVERY ZIPCODE (WILL SCARE THE PUBLIC).
ASK THE AMOUNT OF TIME A SUSPECT SPENDS IN A LOCKUP A COUPLE OF HOUR WILL BE THE ANSWER. THE DICK CANT EVEN DO LINE UPS BECAUSE THEY ARE RELEASED LIKE WE DONT HAVE ANY ROOM.
DONT EVEN ASK ABOUT MERIT PROMOTIONS THE MEDIA COULD NOT EVEN SEE THE SCAM WITH CARRUTHERS BUMBLING BROTHER BEING PROMOTED TO OFFICIAL MERIT HACK.
Thanks LAPD. Be Safe!
At least nobody has been shot 22 times this week. That's a check-mark in the plus column, right?
And yes, to the "young aggressive officers", you can also be a "young aggressive officer" on 1st watch. But based on the recent bitching and moaning, you guys might just get to stay on 1st watch.
8/02/2010 03:05:00 PM
How can you be a young aggressive officer on first watch and tell war stories at Teasers on a nightly basis?
I was at the BP (now Luke) station right on the SE Chicago border in Hammond to pick up some smokes and gas (FU, city taxes...)
I'm a big guy- 6'3, around 240- and very rarely get 'fucked with' by turds, unless they're armed or there's a lot of them...
Walking out of the store, some skinny little gangbanger shithead starts rapidly walking up to me, screaming and hollering threatening stuff, for absolutely no reason. He had three of his 'boys' right behind him standing at the gas pump, laughing.
Now, please dear god let me catch some turd like this in a streetfight, I'd grind him into sausage and leave the wreckage for the dogs to lap up, but I've been in Chicago too long to know that in a situation like that, he isn't brave like that without a gun, which I didn't have and don't carry because a 1st Degree misdemeanor on my record would cost me my job... so, I just ignored it as best I could, got in my truck and drove away.
There have always been turds in Chicago, but it's getting very, very bad. They're getting bold and we're seeing it manifest itself with ambushed police officers, more attacks on citizens of increased severity, more random shit ike this, etc.
I've vowed that the next time this happens to me, I fight back- hard- regardless of the consequences and I'm seriously giving consideration to just carrying my revolver, laws be damned... but man, the honest people here have got to find a way to get our heads out of this ghettoization mousetrap.
I do believe the first step starts at the ballot box. I've been voting the straight Union line for years, but no more. From now on, I'm a Law and Order voter. What good are Trade Union jobs and Union backed pay raises if they're in a city that is rapidly becoming uninhabitable by decent people?
My vote: Daley, out. If Daley is running against Satan himself, then Satan gets my fucking vote.

True story, the city has not paid Oracle so the CLEAR system has not had updates that have been waiting for months.
O.T. but important: FOP won't let Shields post in the newsletter. Heard the City is not giving out insurance cards to retirees in a timely manner and they are left without insurance in the interim. What's up with that? What's up with FOP? We need to know what's happening. That's what you;re there for. I wrote to FOP Prez. Suggest others do too.

Regarding LAPD. I missed Willy by a few weeks. The Parks Regime was in place when I was hired.
It helped that Willy and Bernie had at least been cops at one point.
Willy, from what I heard, he wasn't all that FOR us, but at least he wasn't AGAINST us like Bernie. Under Willy we were starting to get things like better cars and radios, started hiring officers, etc. People hated him because he was an outsider, out of shape and because the perception was he was brought in because of his race and shoved down our throats.
After just short of five years of Bernie, God finally heard our cries I think, and removed him. He was the guy that was going to literally kill the LAPD. We were on our way to losing entire portions of the City to LASD and the LAPD ceasing to exist. Don't assume that just because a PD has been around means it will forever.
Near the end of Parks' Regime, pictures of Willy started showing up at the Southeast Station where I was working, with a caption reading "We're sorry, please come back."
You're all in my prayers tonight, God bless and protect the Chicago PD...
to LAPD at 1.18am.
You guys are and always will be a class act.
Will you give us Bratton to replace our JFled?
Everytime I'm out there, you guys always are courteous and willing to help a fellow, big city copper.
And, you guys get to go to In-N-Out Burger anytime you want. That's great.
O/T. If you just retired and did not get a new BCBS ID card just call them and they will give you the new Group and ID#. Also you can print up temps on their website. The city has nothing to do with the cards.
