CHICAGO (WBBM) – Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis says talk of morale problems in the department come from a very small segment of the department and that he’s doing what he can to keep officers happy.
Supt. Weis says that, at police town hall meetings, he’ll hear that “morale is in the toilet”, but when he asks for ways to improve it, he says no one suggests anything.
Still, there’s an underlying current of dissent because Weis is not from Chicago and never served as a cop on the street. The Superintendent says he cannot change that, but that what he can do is work hard to raise the department to the next level.

I use to only have one real problem with this job - work schedule (if you didn't know the job was run by clout before coming on, your an idiot.) That has changed and I now love my schedule. This change came while he was in charge, and I will give him credit for that. I'm sure you will all say he didn't have anything to do with that, and the city is laughing all the way to the bank, but it has improved my overall well being, and he was in charge when the change was made. I have never met the guy, and I'm sure overall the rumors are true, but if we don't give him credit for things he has done right we will just continue to sound like pouting little kids.

Talked to mayors "valets" at city hall yep they are worried! The 2 commnaders will retire with a $130,000 per year pension,some others with D-3 sergeants pay pension,the rest scatted in the districts hopefully we could use and retrain them! But they will all have to be retreads in the academy to be retrained how to be the police!
