Where to March Followup

The final tally (sort of) is 2,241 to 324 in favor of marching at City Hall.

FOP should have run a quick survey to see where everyone wanted to march. It would have been obvious to a blind monkey that support for marching at HQ was tepid. But we really don't think they foresaw this curveball by Shanks. Now, in light of Shortshanks not running for reelection, one has to ask the question - is there a point to marching at City Hall now?

Is it worth having a march at HQ, now that Daley has declined to run again?
Heck yeah!
Not really
pollcode.com free polls
Our money is on Shanks letting J-Fled serve out his last six months, regardless if we march. There's no point in firing him when Daley can keep him around collecting a check and taking shots for the mayor.

UPDATE: We aren't sure why the poll isn't showing totals and percentages this time. We're checking the code this morning. We'll try to get it fixed ASAP.

Sure, City Hall might be everyone's choice. But if we have a big enough group like we did before, the media will come, the venue doesn't really matter. The media wants to know what we are saying. Believe me, they have looked up this site in the past, right SCC??? You betcha! (Alaskan accent)

What's the point of marching? Jody ain't leaving until Feb 2010. Dayle will let the new mayor pick jody's replacement. We'll have an actor in the mean time. They won't hire any more police until then.

Anyone who marches is wasting their time.

Is this city safe to live in? Is it safe for our citizens? our children? our visitors?

I believe we need positive change now, not tomorrow. To change the status quo will require action on everyone's part.

On WGN Radio, I asked for 50,000 Chicagoans to assemble at Chicago City Hall on Wednesday, September 15th @ 10 am... to march for positive change in our police department and the safety of all Chicagoans.

F.O.P. efforts would be best spent taking a highly publicized "no confidence" vote on J-Fled with secret ballots sent out to the entire membership. F.O.P. unit reps already unanimously voted "no confidence" in J-Fled in April, 2010.

For reasons previously cited and despite Daley's decision to not seek reelection, any rally should be held at City Hall. The demonstration scheduled for next Wednesday at HQ should be cancelled forthwith. The next F.O.P. general membership meeting is less than two weeks away on Tuesday, September 21. Let's get a consensus. What's the rush?

CPD morale is nonexistent because of this clueless, lying coward who is held in utter contempt. He couldn't lead a starving dog to a T-bone steak.

"If I...saw that I was the cause of (poor) morale in this department, no one would have to ask me to leave. I would leave on my own." - J.P. Weis, the shameless pathological liar.

Lame duck or not, Daley must immediately address the lack of manpower crisis in the compelling interests of the safety of the public and our police officers.

There is no need for the time-consuming process of deciding on an outside vendor to get officers into the pipeline. Daley merely announces that the first wave of applicants will be tested no later than Thanksgiving. They sit for a citywide two part test screening:

(1) the widely used Wonderlic 12 minute, 50 item multiple choice test for intelligence (or lack thereof). Wonderlic is conveniently based in suburban Libertyville.

(2) the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI-II) is the foremost written psychological screen.

In both instances, outside monitors will be used followed by computer scoring.

We are desperate for manpower. Let's get it rolling ASAP.

If only Mayor Richard M. Daley had shed those tears when children and Chicago's citizens were being raped, robbed and murdered in the streets of Chicago.

If only Mayor Richard M. Daley had not neglected those who honorably served the City of Chicago their entire lives and gave their very own blood for Chicago.

Expect no tears and no sympathy from those whom you walked upon and looked upon as servants and serfs.

March, dammit, march!

The plans for the march may have influenced Daley's decision to step down. Or not. Either way, don't lose momentum now. People need to know about the manpower shortage and Weis issues (trust me most people don't know unless they read SCC.)

Daley can still further trash the city before he goes. Remember the midnight destruction of Meigs Field? Wanna see the midnight destruction of the CPD? Don't think Daley is that vindictive? Think again. Marching and being in the media marching offers some protection: the public will SEE the spectacle. If he does anything to hurt the CPD or put anyone even worse into the Sup position, the public will be more in your court.

No, it doesn't, but Daley has been a Master (Masters, Masters) at avoiding responsibility; he's always had a scapegoat whenever anything was bad.

We have too many imbeciles on the job as is. Educational requirements are nothing more than public relations "spin". Just more "politically correct" bureaucratic bullshit to placate the oblivious media and the public.

Second City, I commend your for stead fast commitment in keeping the men and women in Blue informed with the daily bureaucracy in the CPD.

This is a great time for SSC to take the lead in lieu of FOP in organizing and gathering the CPD votes for the next candidate for Mayor of Chicago that would be a friend to the police.

Deomonostrate and get the members to participate in this march, and continue to have more marches in the future. Whoever the candidate will be, he/she will need ALL the Police and Fire VOTES. I've always heard the members say, lift the residency rule, keep the Supt position within, etc.

SCC you probably have more visits on this web then FOP has members at its meetings.

Think about it, now is the time to organize and take the lead that FOP should have been doing thus far. Im not bashing FOP, but I believe SCC can really take the charge to help its fellow officer.

Have you clicked the site meter at the bottom of the main page? SCC has more visits in a single day that the FOP has active members. 14,000 every day! That's some voice. Use it SCC!!!
