Once Again, Underdogs

  • As the last unbeaten team in the NFC, the Chicago Bears are among the season's biggest surprises. The New York Giants are probably surprising for the wrong reasons.

The Bears look to improve upon their best start since their last Super Bowl season four years ago Sunday night when they visit a mistake-prone Giants team that has dropped consecutive games.

That's always been a problem for the Bears since lord knows when - capitalizing on mistakes. We aren't bandwagon hoppers and we freely admit we expected the Bears to be 1 and 2 at this point, headed to a 7 and 9 season. We are pleasantly surprised to say the least, but we are a bit more excited about the NHL season opener approaching.

UPDATE: And that's why we don't hop on the bandwagon. The offensive line was...shall we say, "offensive?" Cutler looked like a floor mat.

Not to worry. Like The Cubs, the Bears never fail to ultimately disappoint.

FINAL: Giants - 27
Bears - 20

Bears should be renamed the victims. Intresting. Just as it is in A5 Special Victims where they all run round figuring out who make negative posts about the leadership and blame everyone. Everyone exept the one that actually did the post, that rat female on light duty who gathers dirt info about other Dets. What this rat did not figure out was she'ld get over heard in the ladys room bragging about her post to the other light duty female p.o. Also these two track what dets and sgts say so they can use it when they file there sexual discrimnation complaint, a thing they both did in there districts. They pretend to be nice to you but she is not a friend. Dot i's cross t's watch backs!!

"if you ever need help, dial 1-800-STARBUCKS."

I remember a morning rush hour years ago, we were "writing reports" at the local D&D just off the expy. A motorist came in and said a roll over crash had occurred. We got up, asking if he had called it in- "no, I figured you guys were probably in the donut shop". We ran to our cars just as the radio was calling it out to us. Of course those were the days when we had more than one car on the expy.

I don't know what's more embarrasing, that Obama is a former Chicagoian (albeit a carpetbagging one) or the Bears performance this evening.

OT during the game from city employee and friend at the local watering hole said that recently investigators came in to the office and carted off lots of boxes. Friend said Daley is going down, like prison time down for Hired Trucking scam.

I laughed and told him, they might have said they were investigators with subpoenas and all but those files were being carted off to be shredded.

You mean sing it like the 18th-century drinking song that the awful melody was taken from? Get Faith Hill to sing it, if you want the true train-screeching-to-a-stop effect!

Well, maybe if we were like the clouted ones, we too could sit inside a nice warm and safe station and have a car do our coffee run for too. But when you work outside, you are a slave to the radio and on occasion you might get a hot call. So I would rather have my car close.

As for blocking the crosswalk......well, what's good for the goose....I'll just start writing EVERYONE who parks illegally.

Careful what you wish for sparky.

It still amazes me how people can be so petty. This guy bitches about the police blocking a crosswalk and IMMEDEATELY assumes that they are fucking off. Yet when I answer a man with a gun call I'll usually get a like minded moron like this who will walk up to me and say "can you move your car? I have to be somewhere and I'm late!"

Doesn't matter if the emergency lights are on and coppers are running around with their weapons drawn, there will always be a moron who will put themselves above all else and mother F&$k the police because we are inconveniencing them.

starbucks coffee is shit water made from over-roasting cheap beans that white hen pantry's supplier wouldn't even buy.

not surprising someone would come here and comment about equipment in the crosswalk, especially on a football topic....probably on the way to starbucks themselves so they could stand in line for over-priced coffee with all the other liberal cause-heads....

sorry for calling it "coffee"...is "java" kitchy enough for you?

btw....

complain about pass protection all you want, but collinsworth has it right. Anytime there's a blitz, it means there's a man or three open. Cutler simply doesn't have the ability to get the ball off. He's a good QB when he has 7 seconds or more to throw.

Yeah, but that dosn't explain why the o line guys were standing up the whole game. It almost looked as if they were purposely not engaging. And Martz's stubborness about not using the shotgun is legendary. But why would he want to try what works for Brady and Manning?
