Another Police Shooting

  • Police shot and killed a man early Friday on the South Side after he dragged one officer with a car and attempted to run over another. A passenger in the car was taken into custody.

At 1:33 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Marquette Road, Englewood District officers saw a car that matched the description of one involved in an earlier shooting, according to a police News Affairs release.

The officers pulled the car over and ordered the driver and a passenger to get out, the release said. The passenger exited the car when the driver put the car in reverse.

The car then struck and began to drag one of the officers before it hit a light pole, the release said. The driver then started moving the car forward in an attempt to strike another officer, who -- in fear for his life -- opened fire, fatally wounding the driver.

Good job by all involved. Best wishes to the injured Officer.

Good Job brothers! Lets not make this year like 2010. Lets all go home safe and sound to our families. Lets no hesitate or worry about what "might happen" if we shot. Kille these savages if the situation calls for it and go home. Dont worry about what our so-called leader J-Fled might say or do. He has already proven himself time and time again. If the media thinks we're trigger happy then let them strap on a vest and help us patrol or just shut the f#ck up! Good job to all involved!

Great job lads, they are gunning for us already this year...I am just happy that all of our brother/sister CPD Officers have not been seriously hurt thus far.

Be safe everyone and thank you to all involved for making the air a little cleaner to breathe for my family and I.

Weis is trying to close tons of CR's right now and move to fire people at call back just to make him look more like a reformer. I know a guy that just got a 2 day suspension for being intoxicated in his own house. Nothing else. Female Roommate calls and says he is drunk and that was the only beef. No weapon in the house , he was not driving and he had a witness who was a LT with him at the time. Now he gave a statement to IAD and they are giving him 2 days. Brust who is now gone and Jody have been giving out suspensions like they were going out of style to pad their numbers and look like they are serious on off duty beefs for the new Mayor, Becareful if you are at call back JFLED may start handing out 30 and pending to people just because he can and soon he won't.

Dear SCC,

On Wednesday evening in the Pilsen neighborhood, I witnessed an event that I never witnessed before. I witnessed a convoy of the Chicago Police, marked cars, tactical officers and SWAT heading north on Laflin Street.

As my daughter readied her school bag for the next morning, suddenly stunned, all she did was point out towards the street. I jumped up and became stunned myself. We went outside and observed a procession of police vehicles.

What a huge, beautiful display of force!

Not many would think that Pilsen is in need of this activity. However, we must remember that this is a neighborhood where a Chicago Police officer lost his life. The thugs around here believe that they are under the radar. They assume no one ever watches them.

I have never had a problem standing up to them, reporting them or signing complaints against them and I will continue to do so. Standing up to them has cost me a lot but I do not mind because this is my neighborhood and I do not plan on leaving it anytime soon.

I learned that this activity was a raid, on a POS, latin count. This guy has used his Infiniti as a get-a-way car in shootings in our neighborhood. He is a smug little clown, who like the rest, does not know what it is to work for a living.

The message that was sent with this show of force was loud and clear! To see the officers geared up standing next to their armored vehicles - showed the strength of the CPD.

Whoever initiated the search warrant, took the time to observe this hoodlum and cared enough about our community - Thank You! We sincerely appreciate what you did and the message that you brought to our neighborhood. May God bless you all.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Respectfully,

A Pilsen Resident

This all comes back to vehicle pursuits. Shit heads out there know that we "cant pursue" anymore. Because of this that's why they are taking off half the time on every stop. The G.O. on vehicle pursuits has to change

The Pinex family is yet ANOTHER family in tis city (Englewood) that is GENERATIONALLY challenged from doing something honest, legit and productive.

My old partner is on a team that did search warrants on this family twice in the last five months — yet they still are able to suck off the governmental tit.

What we need to ask the mayoral candidates is how are they going to deal with the pension crisis number on.

Then number two, how are you going to deal with the fraud, waste and abuse of the public aid handouts in this city.

That is what should be or great interest of EVERY Police Office on the CPD, workers, dogs, house mice, five year wonders in the policy group, three year wonders in PAU, hair gels, protein 29 users, wheel gunners and suck asses alike.

Thank you for saving us our tax dollars so they can be spent on important stuff, like more police. I have served 25 years fighting wars and I would not want your job because of the leadership of CPD.
You guys kick ass and continue as you watch Jody follow the susnet out of town. Stay safe and shoot for CoM! The times are definetly changing and war is coming to the street, so watch out bangers and punk-thugs. Prison time is no longer an option and neither are headshots! Be safe people in blue!

I cannot wrap my mind around this department policy. Where does the CPD command get off thinking that they can regulate what an officer does in the privacy of his/her own home, assuming no laws are being broken? How come this madness hasn't been challenged in court yet? WTF!

Attorney Attorney Attorney

We bitch and scream about the Attorney for the bad guy lets get one for you guys,

15,000.00 Policemen, $1.00 to put an attorney on retention or 13,000 - 15,000 a month. find the best attorney you can find and put Him/Her on retention and the bull shit stops. Depending on the number of Officers $2.00 per month and the Attorney handles only your problems.

Good shot officer. No lengthy expensive trial, no early release so he can continue on in his life of crime, no extremely expensive trauma care taxpayers pay for, no expensive prison stay, no more breeding more useless unwanted public supported oxygen thieves. a total WIN WIN for the law abiding segment of society. If you ever have doubts about what happened think of the above.
