Papers are in, has been employed by MPEA as Director of Security- in a no-pay status for now, but technically employed by them. Will now qualify for a second pension as he was hired prior to the new State law going into effect.
Makes one wonder who else Shortshanks has quietly moved and placed as rewards for their loyaly service?
Who indeed. There's a whole bunch of people preparing for life A.S. (after Shortshanks) and those spots with additional pension perks are going to ensure that Illinois continues to circle the drain in terms of pension liabilities that has next-to-nothing to do with public safety employees and everything to do with connected politicians.

Off topic...just drove past the new 023 district "police station" and WTF! There is a multi level PUBLIC parking garage about 25 feet from the "police staion" that has glass windows all around. It doesn't take a fuckin genius (like me) to realize some nut or Terrorist could easily park a fucken van with explosives in that PUBLIC garage and kill several hundred cops. What the fuck was Mayor Daley and that so called "fed" Jody Weis thinking!!! Look at how fortifide 35th and Michigan is compared to OUR "police stations". They even have metal detectors..!!!

Hey Rocket Scientist; Quite trolling and if you are the police, look it up for yourself you lazy twit. Don't make other people do your work.
I have known other former gold stars on the police department who took jobs as security heads in private industry. They all failed. What theylearned very quickly is that they do not have the skill set to make it in private industry security. They do not have the people skills for one, do not have the budget and hiring experience, know nothing about CLTV and access control and are not customer relations savvy. Keating is smart to take a job at the MPEA where his shortcomings will be covered. Hillard has the contract there to reform security. The job pays well, very well.
Ray Charles could've seen this coming.
Keating was not well liked in the upper echelons of the department. He pissed a lot of bosses off when he was in charge of the Mayors detail. They begrudgingly put up with his shit because he was the mayors guy and had the mayors ear.
Jimmy knows he'd be in for a rough ride within the department if Ritchie is no longer mayor.
We'll see how Jimmy's triple A type personality goes over in his new job.

You should obviously make an appt. WOW! Anyone who calls the EAP a fraud has no idea on what they actually do for officers. Especially the one related to Car 47. She's the best down there by far and always there for P.O.'s in hard times.

Central Control Group was a stupid unit that this Dept. created in the first damn place. Not needed when it was 'created,' and certainly not needed now. Hopefully when we get a new Mayor & Supt. that is where some of the first cuts are made to rectify the budget.

Don't know which la it is but double dipping is supposedly forbidden, unless you are in tight with the Daley family. Then not only double dipping is allowed, it is mandatory, even triple or quad dipping! The Daley Way, The Chicago Way.

Excuse me, "..has ever SCENE." How embarrassing. That lt. has done more police work than you could dream of in your lifetime. Maybe you can't stand him because you are a product of the CPS System. Go back in the basement you asswipe.

Then CPD boss Tom (thumb) Byrne, (now Sts./San. chief) did a better end-around than Devin Hester and had a direct audience with da' Mere himself.
At that time he convinced Short shanks that 001 and 018 should be combined as the CCG. He cited the tax base paid and how opposing Areas 3 & 4 investigate crimes there and the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing based upon the bureaucracy of the Department blah, blah, blah.
He cited a bunch of other reasons summing up that that one boss should be in charge of the newly considered CCG and that boss is none other than... Tom Byrne himself!
Gullible Daley bit harder than a pit-bull on a puppy with Dart doing a media alerted rescue.
Then Supt., Terry Hillard was in shock about the the failure of the chain of command notification, but not surprised as Byrne was always like Madison from Michigan to Desplaines.
Later, Daley looking for people to fill the vacancies caused by scandals and indictments, put Byrne in a couple of those vacant positions within City gov't.
During this time Keating took over the CCG based upon the familiarity between Keating and Daley.

They are close-mouthed. You know anything that happens will never leave there. I never even heard of that girl. Retired now but the only female officer in the unit for years was L O'S. and she great. I'm not saying your friend isn't good also but just because one is related to a boss doesn't make them (or not make them) good at their job. My point being THAT unit shouldn't ever be put in any ball-busting games.
Keating has his ways, but he has always been a pretty good boss and treats po's fair. Straight shooter who has been to known to side with patrolmen involved in beefs with bosses. Kevin Ryan is an arrogant, ignorant moron.

That public parking was all Alderman Tom Tunney's doing. Tunney insisted the public be given parking spots in any new police facility due to how congested the neighborhood is.
Tunney threatened to hold his breath and throw a hissy fit if he didn't get his way. Since Tunney always voted with Daley, Tunney got the parking and police security was compromised from the day the place opened.

Kalacky is the 2 year wonder who did so well on the last Detective exam. He got locked up for being an idiot and pulling his gun on a cab driver. He was arrested and Convicted... he is currently being hidden by the CPD and still collecting a salary. Anybody else would have been canned right Jody?
TRU Commander will not be promoted, burned too many bridges calling people out when his own p.o.'s were screwing up. MSF Commander has been told to accept Car 47. TRU being demoted to civil servant rank and Commander of 001 to return to TRU.
As long as Kevin Ryan has Tim Mitchell(Parks Super) as his Chinaman....he will not be demoted....I would venture to guess that he could be your next Superintendent under Mayor Emanuel.
Sat next to Keating during Christmas eve mass at Nativity of Our Lord. He is realy short in person, I guess that's why he likes being up on that segway. Are they going to retire the segway and give it to him or will the city have it bronzed. Then they will try to buy it back from him for scrap metal at top dollar. Making Keating an even richer retiree!!!
