Second, Third of the Year

  • A two-day New Year’s Eve party at a South Side motorcycle club came to a bloody and tragic end early Sunday when two men were shot dead and five others wounded.

Emmitt Suddoth, who was recently indicted in a $35 million mortgage fraud scheme, and Bryant Glass, 39, of the 900 block of West 116th St., were both killed as the party at the Hawks Motorcycle Club’s headquarters at 149 W. 75th St. turned ugly about 1:40 a.m., police said.

Gee, a two-day party? We wouldn't classify that one as "...bloody and tragic..." We'd say that was foreseeable, preventable and expected. And seeing as how one of the "victims" was a recently indicted subject of a $35 million fraud scheme, we'd hesitate to even call it a great loss.

On a more serious note, three homicides in two days can be extrapolated out to 547.5 homicides for the entire year, meaning J-Feld's tenure has been a complete failure on this and many other counts. He should be fired as soon as possible.

Yeah, Murders are down, but what about shooting and violence overall? We rank number one in the Country for shootings, violence, low man power, and low morale.

Predictive Analysis had the holiday off. They should be used to getting their predictions out of the way before the weekends and avoid the holiday rush. Although, I think they did predict that there were going to be a lot of shots fired calls on New Year's Eve. They just must have missed the murder coming at the motorcycle club.

When vermin like this started creeping into the real estate business, it was time for it to crash and burn.

Innocent renters no longer know if their "landlord" is making the mortgage payments on the building or buying crack with the rent checks -- not until the sheriff shows up to evict them...

Hey SCC:

How did you arrive at the figure of 547.5 homicides for the year when the Tribune is reporting only 435 ?

I’m quite certain the figure quoted by the Tribune as the official number was arrived at by classifying many homicides as suicides and other such deceptive practices and mischief.

Does the .5 person represent the organized crime execution of Michael Scott they’ve been pretending was a suicide ? Some crude and socially unacceptable people might consider that event a public service but I am not one of those naughty people (he said disingenuously).

But was it an inside homicide or an outside homicide? I mean, they were outside of their homes, but inside their clubhouse, right?

I'm just surprised at the boring, dull name of the black bikers club. You'd think they'd have more imagination.
