Did any of the rumored changes take effect?
Unless we're going to get one of those rare instances where there's a Saturday announcement for the exempt spots that are opening up due to retirements? It's been a while since we had something like that, but since promotions/changes usually end up coming on a the day before a payday, it wouldn't be unheard of. Supposedly, one promotee has already had her meetings with her supervisory staff.

many sources are saying 023 is getting a new commander. For what reason, no one knows. If it's not broken, why fix it?
and, when the new person takes over....what's the point?

anybody wonder why the great dan dugan hasn't taken another big job?
Part of the package with Daley backing Rahmfather is having Dugan come back as the new 1st deputy, kind of the way townsend use to run the department.
They will make Jimmy Jackson the supt, but dugan will run the show.
They are going to realign/streamline the exempt rank, starting with sending 3M to be a security guard at walmart.
Chief of Patrol is up in the air, but it appears Georgas is looking good for the spot. Peterson is out and young tom byrne is replacing him.
BAS will be given to cuello, they cant get rid of her because of the hispanic connection.
After that who knows...

This job is like living under socialism. Everyone equally miserable. When was the last time you spoke to a P.O. in any district or unit that was happy? But crime is down and no one cares.
To the vast majority of police officers, it makes no difference who is the commander. Only if you are related to them or forced to blow them for your inside day job will it make any difference.
It makes a difference which sergeant you work for and to a lesser degree who the watch commander is, but commander? Who cares.
Going on and on about who is the new commander of this or that is like reading People Magazine. A total waste of time.

Kind of embarrassing to J-Fled. They have chosen to leave instead and who can blame them? 60-70 hours a week, unpaid furlough days that put your salary below your underlings pay, tickets you are forced to sell or eat for every 'cause' downtown wishes, No thanks.
I remember a meeting at 35th Street with J-Fled. One of the Gold Stars pointed to a group of about 15 Lts. and said something about "That's what you do if you want a Command spot". They was a resounding "No thank you". J-Fled did not look pleased.
We have hit the iceberg and are headed to the bottom of the Atlantic. Few were spared in the lifeboats.

Heard the same rumor about Dan Dugan for 1st Deputy as well. That would be a great move cosidering he is only 55 and has the knowledge on how to run things.
Keating put in his papers and will be replaced by Ryan from TRU. Commander Kennedy from 001 will take over Ryan's spot.
Crime is NOT down. The reporting of crime is down, but crime itself is not down. According to the bosses, if it didnt't get reported then it didn't occur.
Stop giving 19P to jobs. Give them a report.
Still no word on who is replacing JW on March 1st? looks like he might be staying indefinitely?

Rottner, can be made as a civilian by Emmanuel, as well. He is well known, respected, don't overlook a little northside influence in the future Rahm administration. You might be surprised. I think Ryan should get car 47 because I am sick and tired of looking at men who are simply unattractive come crawling out of that car and Tobias just doesn't cut if for me.

What's with all the hatin on the Ryan's? They are both exactly what this department wants, younger guys who will work hours upon hours.
CO Ryan's biggest problem is he cant say no to any other exempt, but he really does do right by his people. It may take him time to come around, but he has the best interest of the workers in mind.
Lt Ryan, 022nd, he wont be promoted because he is smart, and he lets everyone know how smart he is. God forbid you tell someone with more rank than you they are wrong when they are wrong.

Another example of someone promoted beyond thier abilities. I guess he takes over as acting Lt over svu. The guy can't act as a sgt, but now he will act as a Lt. Expect his ego to grow like a cancerous mass. Will his pins be able to support the weight of his growing ego? Will he smoke more than a pack a day as the acting Lt? Will he continue to allow his dicks to make his costco runs on duty? Since he will be recieving out of grade pay, will he share more of his earnings from the Area 5 store? I am a PO working a beat car. Do you think it will ever get bad enough to force me to be a commander by reverse seniority? Oh I hope not. I like my beat car. Besides, by time they get to me, commanders will be forced to take 120 unpaid furlough days a year and sweep the station floors in addition to all that ball licking.

WHY does this Dept. even need a 'Central Control Group?' Anyone know the answer, or than just creating one more needless bureaucracy within the CPD, another needless 'fiefdom', and all the damn waste that goes with it?
