Beale Moved
Far South Side Ald. Anthony Beale (9th) has infuriated rank-and-file police officers by targeting their supplemental pay and proposing more power for “rent-a-cops.” He’s also been a driving force behind an impending plan to reallocate police resources to higher-crime districts.
On Thursday, Beale lost the perch he has used to push for Police Department reforms in a City Council reorganization that gave him even more power.
Under a plan crafted by Mayor Daley and unanimously approved by the City Council, Beale will become the new chairman of the City Council’s Transportation Committee, replacing former Ald. Tom Allen (38th), who resigned to become a Circuit Court judge.

Maybe that's why Beale wasn't at Thursday's city council meeting.
Tricky Dick Daley is the brave one. He appointed a white male to replace a white male alderman, a black male to replace a black male alderman and a black female to replace a black female alderman.
People need to learn and vote for real business people, not people who beg for walmarts. Beale was worse than the hog with the big balls!

I predict Beale will be indicted, like Caruthers, for land development shenanigans with the Walmart properties in his ward. Daley knows this and other deals for transportation in the works for the same ward.

They always give people enough rope to hang themselves. Is it true Beale had an interest in the private security company he was touting to take over police duties? Income and patronage w/o scrutiny - you'll find it in many places.
Matt O'Shea will chair the Police & Fire Committee after the Aldermanic election.
It will be GOOD for the CPD & CFD - finally somebody with knowledge gained from having friends and families in both departments.
So this Allen gets a pension for being aldercreature, and now will " earn " another one for being a judge?

Off the subject alittle. Better watch DK in the Police Department. She is not a people person. Shee feels her shi# don't stink. She is not a Police person while working with the Rank and File. Keep her ass hidden away from the working Police. Since she climbed the ladder to her current position, everyone below her is just shi$. She is not a pleasant person.

Nothing more. She was handed the 8th ward when Shanx & co. decided to back Stroger for CCC to hang on to all the patronage jobs there. Harris is rarely in her office on any given day; stop in and say hi and find out for yourself. She won't make many waves as head of the Police & Fire Commission. Hopefully if/when Chico wins, he'll correct this situation.
12:33:00am had it exactly right, unfortunately. Aldercreature Michelle Harris is a throwback from the Daley/Stoger Machine hookup. She was "appointed" to the old 8th Ward seat held by Toddler and his dad. Say what you will about the Old Man. He brought services to the Ward (which includes Pill Hill and a few other more affluent Black neighborhoods where lots of Black coppers live alongside doctors, lawyers and the like). Recently the ward has really started going to shit. One reason, aside from the lack of focused police work against the gang wars on the Eastside of the 004th District and their inability to quash a rising tide of dope dealers/gangbangers, the Aldercreature's office is not able to provide basic city services (unless you are on the "favored" list of Michelle. She does NOT like the police and is actually clueless about how to administer her Ward. She is quick to blame the police for brutality and feels that police officers earn too much in salary/benefits/pension and they are undeserved, does nothing to enhance relations between citizens and the police.
A former PO, retired, who is trying to oppose her in the upcoming election has mysteriously encountered bureaucratic obstructions ala the Election Board regarding petition signatures possibly at the behest of Aldercreature Harris (all part of the Machine gaming).
Chances are we are gonna suffer with her at the helm of Police and Fire Committee. She may not actively oppose police issues, but she will not go out of her way to help the Department or it's members. She is still a minor cut above Beale, however.

They did not have to look far for him after his DNA profile popped. They found him incarcerated at the cook county jail on a probation violation.

It's not just Walmart, but Beale and Aldi store he's been trying to land @115/State.
Beale is probably opening a new security co. that already has a big contract with the city. He probably got it as a reward for not running for mayor and taking votes from his ward.
At first I glance I thought this post title was "BOWELS Moved", then I read more carefully and saw it said "BEALE..."
Then I realized there was no difference.
If O'Shea is appointed to this position after the elections, we're in good shape.
Allen has 3 brothers. Two are bigwigs with labor unions. Raumbo meets with the two brothers seeking support for the up coming election. Suddenly Allen becomes a judge and is sworn in prior to January 1 2011 so he is gets his pension benefits after 4 years as a judge.
