Highest Gas Prices

Along with #1 in corruption, #1 in unlivable cities, now Chicago has the highest gas prices in the nation:
  • The twice-monthly Lundberg Survey has found the price of regular gasoline has risen about nine cents a gallon over three weeks to $3.08.

The price of mid-grade gasoline is now $3.22 a gallon and premium is $3.33 a gallon, analyst Trilby Lundberg said Sunday. The U.S. average for diesel was $3.36, up 7.18 cents.

Lundberg says the highest gas price in the country was recorded in Chicago at $3.35 a gallon. The low, $2.73, was in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Some economists are predicting $4 a gallon before summer.

where the fuck is gas at this price? I've been all over the city and can't find gas for anything less than $3.45 on average. Heck can't even go into the suburbrs and find anything cheaper, maybe a cent or two but the average they are reporting is where? I HATE THE CITY !!!!!

The Messiah said he wants us paying $5 for gas, just not right this second. These damn liberals all seem to think we're cheating mankind by paying less for gas than they do in Europe. These liberals want to lead the good life, but you know, there's just not enough of the good for the rest of you, don't you know? So. we, the enlightened ones will shepherd the good life for ourselves and leave crumbs for the lesser among us. You know, you, not us!

This damn place is getting to be the most expensive place to live in the US. I got news for you, you damn dunces, this place just isn't that special to be the most expensive place to call home. C'mon, raise those smokes another buck a pack and a 175% state tax increase and the highest sales tax around.

If they don't stop this foolishness, there will be two kinds of people in Northern Illinois, the very well off and those that live off them. The rest of us will have to move out.

Because Chicago-area gas prices have topped $3.20-a-gallon for seven business days, city law requires that passengers pay a full $1 surcharge. The surcharge had been 50 cents since Oct. 29, 2009, because gas prices had hovered between $2.70 and $3.20.

I don't get it... Obama was supposed to end all this war-for-oil-Bush-Cheney-profiteering-friends-with-big-oil nonsense that has driven up the gas prices... yet high prices remain and are going up years later...hrmm

Due to a leak in the Alaskan pipeline, crude oil prices will rise even more this week. That will eventually lead to $5/gallon gasoline by end of 2011. Feels like the market is being manipulated by the oil companies.

Any recovery from the recession will take a big hit as speculators drive up the price of oil. I have a bad feeling that things are going to be a lot worse this summer.

just read yesterday that the alaskan pipe line was shut down to repair a leak--- it supplies approximately 15 percent of the oil we use--- another excuse to jack up the price--- and they want to add another dollar tax to a pack of smokes here--- and a state income tax hike along with the recent increase in property taxes--- man, I'm out of breath---- bye bye raise, it just got swallowed whole and the only one's who are affected are the chumps who pull on the work boots and trudge off to work everyday...

If you count house/rent prices it's still way cheaper here than NYC or San Fran, though the taxes are insane. It's a lot easier to have a car here than in NYC too. Taxes are nuts though, I could maybe see paying taxes like that if we were getting great schools, decent roads, low crime, or public transportation that could get you anywhere on time, ever.

When gas prices were going up to $4a gallon in 2008 when Bush was still president all you heard about in the liberal media and Pelosi was how gas prices were too high and that getting prices to go down was the most important thing on their agenda for the american people blah, blah, blah. Now Obama is in the white house and you don't hear a peep from any of them. These radical left wing assholes don't want america to succeed, they want us to suffer like all other countries that depend on the government so that they can be in control. Democrats have been in control of this country a lot longer than republicans and look how fucked up things are. When republicans abolished slavery democrats fought and cheated consistently the laws which resulted in the civil war. Once they gained control again in the government they repealed a lot of the laws republicans had passed until the civil rights act which LBJ a democrat signed into law with a republican majority congress. LBJ signed the same civil rights act that Eisenhower wrote but did not pass with enough votes in the house with a democrat majority. The LEFT is fucking up this country and has been trying to for the last 150 years. Look at how upset they were at republicans for having them read the Constitution of the United States out loud during session. They hate the constitution because it gets in the way of their agenda. Wake up AMERICA!!! I know that issues within the department and Chicago are important but also pay attention to what's going around nationally.

Hey dummy, it s winter now.The summer blend ends in sept.Funny when gas was last at $4 a gal the price of crude was $137 a barrel. Now it s $94 and the price is almost $4. I say the oil company s are fucking us and the gov does nothing about it.Unempoyment is high, china and india are not using the same amount as beforew the reccession and yet the price hasn t gone lower then $2.80.6 yrs ago the price was around $2.
We have to vote all the pricks out of office and vote people in that would stand up and protect the citizens of this once great ctry.

The well off can afford to live here if they want if it is convenient for them to live here. Face it, some people will just stay here just like NY city. It makes more sense to stay here while they are working. Who knows what they'll do when they retire.

Our special blend of gas is not the only reason the gas you purchase is so expensive. The damn taxes are a bigger part of it. Someone please tell me what the governments that tax gas have to do with delivering that product to us? The government makes more money on gas than the "EVIL OIL COMPANIES" you dopes all hate. When will you democrat voters realize that democrat policies are why fuel is costing more. They want us on bicycles, the bus or their other wet dream, high-speed rail. Why if we had that, the world would be perfect! The distance from London to Paris, 213 miles. The distance from Chicago to St Louis? 283 miles. Trains work in Europe because it's so damn small. The US is huge in comparison. They don't want you in a car, that's why they raise parking rates, city stickers, license plate fees, parking ticket fines and tax gas like they own it.

I see a HUGE amount of ethanol traffic on the railroads in and out of Chicago -- Milwaukee Road (Canadian Pacific), Illinois Central (Canadian National,) BNSF. Whole hundred-car blocks of black tank cars and even longer, moving in and out of town. Some say "ADMX," Archer Daniels Midland, others have similar corn-energy reporting marks.

I suspect this is all going into the "Chicago blend." I know they got rid of MTBE but not before it got into everyone's groundwater...

Alaskan pipeline, fire in a suburban refinery, its all bullshit. What about when a barrel of crude fell below $75, then it was the emerging 3rd world jungle countries increasing demand. All bullshit. For 10 billion to build a refinery, our government could have built and regulated 150 refineries to lower gas cost to americans. Citgo is owned by Hugo Chavez, and our Alaskan light sweet crude is exported to Japan. Did I say Bullshit already? Sorry SCC if its too political of a post, but it's all true.
