This Isn't Good

  • Congressman Luis Gutierrez called Gery Chico “a neighborhood guy with neighborhood values” as he threw his support behind the mayoral hopeful at a press conference Sunday at the National Museum of Mexican Art in the Pilsen neighborhood.

More than once Gutierrez invoked the late Chicago Mayor Harold Washington in explaining why he opted to endorse Chico. “I worked hard to elect Harold Washington, and I see the same qualities in Gery” said Gutierrez.

[...] Chico spoke briefly after Gutierrez, saying he would combat crime in Chicago by adding 2,000 police officers, make the education system better, offer kids more after-school options and create more jobs. Mayoral candidate Rahm Emanuel earlier told the Sun-Times he would boost the police force by 1,000 officers — part of a plan he outlined at an event Sunday.
Harold was a nice guy to the police. Two-thousand cops would go a long way toward rectifying the on-going manpower shortages. But Luis and his terrorist supporting ways put a large damper on anything he endorses.

I was throwing in with Chico til I saw Luis endorsing him.

When I called Luis' office a couple of years ago to voice my desire that he vote to repeal the Rostenkowski social security cut we public employees have to swallow, his own staff told me he won't support us. Even though that cut affects his OWN OFFICE STAFF! Scummy creature.

Sorry, Chico. Buh-bye. I don't want to vote for anyone associated with the FALN weasel who won't support public employees.

I'd move back to Chicago if Harold Washington or anyone resembling Harold Washington was even a serious candidate for mayor. None of your candidates fits that description.

Rahm is a criminal that should be in jail along with hundreds of other white-collar financial terrorists that helped wreck this country. Carol is one of those folks who fits the description "too much college, not enough high school".

And Chico? Remind me again, who made Chico famous? And what exactly is his claim to fame?

You guys are doomed.

If anybody is looking for a place to retire, might I suggest Virginia? There is a budget surplus here, and even most democrats are conservative.

Rahm also said in an interview on the news that he plans on doing away with the current police medical policy citing police absenteeism. Sorry Mr. Rahm, but, we as police get stabbed, kicked, punched, spit on with infectious body fluids, and shot. not to mention having to deal with other illnesses that the civilian population deals with. It seems that this goof plans on taking some of our hard fought benefits away from us. Brothers and Sisters in blue, please be careful if you are considering voting for him. Also, condolences to Baltimore PD in losing one of their PO's killed in the line of duty yesterday.

Gutierrez is just positioning himself. Chico is the most viable winner on the hispanic side. His personal views are more in line with Del Valle. They were, and still might, be members of the same Humboldt Park Communist club that wants to overthrow the Government. They definitely do not like the Police. I know this as I was the police in Humboldt Park in the 90's and watched Gutierrez and Del Valle march in the clubs annual parade after the PR Festival. They refused a police escort every year, but the Commander at the time insisted they get help from us.

A nothside congressman, Washington insider that really doesn't give a shit about Chicago, doesn't know Chicago and it's problems.

An ex-Senator with money problems from here til tomorrow. A one sided campaign. Has not left the AA community.

CHICO can unite Chicago. Has campaigned for all people of Chicago. Will protect the tax payers and not the life long handouts that eat up our taxes.

They need to do something with the medical. There is too much abuse going on. Take the female Officer in 013. She's the passenger in a Tahoe. The driver of said Tahoe is backing up at a speed of appx. 1 mph as he tries to back out of a parking spot.He BUMPS the car behind him. He's fine. She however has been on the medical for at LEAST a month and a half claiming the old "neck and back" injury. What a waste of space and oxygen. But what makes it worse is to think she takes a space on the work sheets that could be filled by a real human being and a real Police Officer instead of a whiner,a dog and a medical abuser.

This election is going to be quite interesting. I`m guessing a record turnout. But our options are not so great. With Rahm we have a candidate thats oblivious to current issues with the city, considering he has been in D.C for the past year or so. As for Chico, I don`t care how much he raised for his campaign. I feel that he is just a product of the Daley machine, and with those contributions I`m sure some favors will be made. Not to mention the support from that terrorist FALN weasel. As for Carol, no need to say anything. She`s doing it on her own. DelValle, is a low key candidate that has the most to offer, but his refusal to play "Chicago Politics" might hurt him in the long run. I feel that election could go either way, and thats what scary.

How in the world are a bunch of middle-aged people (cops) supposed to deal with violent, young men intent on harming us without getting injured occasionally? I have an injury from a very minor altercation with a young guy 10 years ago. I am still hurting from this. If they want to fix the medical, they should keep an eye on the medical abusers. But that would require some work and that just ain't in the works.

Light or limited duty is abused by many sworn officers. It is so obvious who is abusing the system. Officers that are limited duty for 5-10 years. That is complete bullshit. Revaluate them twice a year. Stop ignoring the problem and remove the abusers. This is a valuable program for the legitimate officers that are recovering from illness and a injury.

Did you lose a paycheck? It sounds like it was brinksmanship between the whites and the blacks, and suggesting that Burke ever did one thing to help anyone but the mob is terribly clueless.

The way some people in Mt. Greenwood turned in favor of Harold was when he showed up on our street in the middle of the afternoon as mayor and promised curbs. It was the first time most of the block had ever seen any politician in the neighborhood.

That guy turned out to be the best mayor since at least the 40s. Chicago will be lucky to find a mayor that actually likes Chicago the way that Harold did.

Gutierrez is appealing to the Mexican community to continue their support for him that's politics people.

----------------------------------

Luis is Puerto Rican, not Mexican. While I don't like him too much, he did have one relative at Water who was a pretty good guy. Too bad the rest of my bosses weren't like him.

Old Retired Guy Here.
I was all set to vote for Chico.
Now with the "Louie" endorsement, I have to swing to Rahm.
We all know the medical has been abused, by some, for decades. Something has to be done to correct the abuse.
I don't pretend to know what. Who ever is elected mayor, I suspect, the medical issue will be addressed.
PS: Have A Nice Day ???

i endorse the rahmbo!

I was between Rahm and Chico as the lesser of two evils, but since the little PR Anti-American terrorist is pushing for Chico I have no choice but to go with Rahm. None of them are good choices but Chico will just increase the give aways to the illegals and entitlement babies. Rahm might tell them to fuck themselves.

1/10/2011 01:57:00 PM

yes, you have no choice.

baa, baa, baa.

I was leaning towords Chico until I saw the news. Too bad he had to divide the vote by using a criminal race baiting SOB.
I have lost all respect for the man.

what the fuck does respect have to do with politics?

I'm for Chico, not letting little Louie get in my way. Rahm is talking about looking into our pension n removing the medical which is not good.

The way some people in Mt. Greenwood turned in favor of Harold was when he showed up on our street in the middle of the afternoon as mayor and promised curbs. It was the first time most of the block had ever seen any politician in the neighborhood.

This could only be said by a Mt. Greenwood political hack desk jockey. This guy never road in a squad car. Harold's command appointments were a joke. Precinct captains should stay off this blog.

I'd have no problem with the MIU following this POS around and filming her doing her daily chores. Lifting heavy grocery bags, bowling, playing softball in a league, whatever. Then fire the medical abuser and seek criminal charges for theft.

Luis goal is to open the flood gates on immigration. He wants the latino vote years down the line so that he can run for mayor. Mean while he will continue to line his filty pockets with crooked deals. His wife and the FALN terrorist group he runs with will benefit greatly from Chico being elected. This Country has bent over to all the terrorist groups living or sneaking into the U.S. We're F@$KED!

How dumb are you? What was said is that Harold was the first politician in office actually seen on the streets of Mt. Greenwood in memory (viewed from the 80s). How in the world do you read this as being from a Mt. Greenwood precinct captain?

Sheesh.

"I was between Rahm and Chico " How can you compare the two. Please tell me the last position, (job) that Rahm worked for more than 7 years? How did he make his money? Who backs him? Look at Chico, he has self made wealth. He's a business man and look at his response to the FOP's questions. He is the only one that gave a thoughtful response. The other candidates, including Rahm didn't give a damn and gave an answer that was as short as possible. I think that our best bet is Chico. I think that he will at least give the department a fair shake when the time comes to trim the fat. Check out the FOP website to get their views on us.

If you want to retire on 40% of what you thought you would retire at- go ahead and vote for Rahm "f*ck the UAW" Emanuel.

If you're over 45- unless you've been maxed out on defered comp since you were 23 and your spouse has a trust fund, you'll be living in a trailer Cairo, Illinois raising ostriches to pay your medical insurance-praying to God you get that greeter job at the new Walmart.

Who cares about Guiterrez? He's not running - Chico is and at least he really is pro-police instead of flipping a couple of quarters at the memorial fund to buy us off.

Rahm is going after our pension to get the fat cats from the Civic Foundation to bankroll his campaign.

Don't be fooled.
