Another Exchange of Gunfire
Getting goofy out there. Dangerous even:
- Two men and a woman were in custody this morning following a shootout with police in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the South Side.
Two district officers on patrol exchanged gunfire with a man believed to be 22 years old after a car he and two other people were in pulled up next to the officers' patrol car this morning, police said. All three were in police custody this morning.
The officers, who were in a police squad car, were headed north on Western Avenue just after 4 a.m. when a tan Mercury pulled up next to them near 47th Street, said Police News Affairs [...]. The 22-year-old man then began firing shots at them, and the officers returned fire [...].
No one was injured, and the officers began chasing their attacker's vehicle north. During the pursuit, the shooter threw the gun he had been using out of the Mercury,....
Once again, thank god no officers were injured.

Eeeyup, thanks for removing the fear of the death penalty, governor.
Just by the grace of God none of us were murdered today.

There is now MUCH MORE INCENTIVE in killing these dogs as there is no more death penalty as a deterrent. (Well, public hanging in chains in front whatever hovel they get mail or lay up with baby momma would be a BIG deterrent.)
Remember... According to the media apparatus of Daley Inc., The Police are the enemy and not these fools we're encountering.
Shortshanks, j-fled and the feeb exempts, the traitorous turn-coat sworn exempts, the media (and to a certain extent the silent minority) bear more than some responsibility for the current war and propaganda campaign against CPD taking the deadliest turn for the worse over the last few years.
The public has been fed nothing but "bad po-leece" and the shit heads have picked up up and took off running with it.
Well, everybody happily said "fuck the Po-leece." J-fled, the exempts, the mayor, the alderfools, the rev'runs, the community activists and the media.
Nobody in a position with a big enough fuck to give, gave enough of a fuck to take a stand and get in front of this media driven bullshit and say "Hey! Enough with beating on these men and women for trying to do what they can in spite of intentionally being starved of manpower, training, equipment and most importantly support."
"We owe them a debt that can never be repaid and we should do all we reasonably can to make them whole for the indignities they've had to bear for the sake of cynical politics and spite."
Heh... Who the fuck are we kidding?
There's nobody in this city willing to own up to this mess and MAKE IT RIGHT!
The Police are the enemy... Pass it on.
We've had to take a lot of guff over the years. we've seen some damn sight better coppers have to take a lot of guff too and yes we collectively knew there were going to "be times" but this shit going right here?
It gives us pause as we wonder if the blood, sweat, tears and the sacrifice of our torn-up and still hurting body parts, the nightmares. Seeing screaming people burn to a skeleton while clutching the burglar bars and being unable to do a damn thing for them. Burying friends and comrades and so on.
But the Police are the enemy.

Oh, great. That's a Saturday night, on top of it.
Thank GOD the officers are ok.
The last couple of years we have experienced a spike in violent crimes against police. It's not going to get any better. Stay alert. Stay alive. Nothing should surprise us anymore. Thank God the officers are ok!
I personally approved of the death penalty as a safety net for the public. Meaning, I have NO faith in our justice system. If a LIFE sentence actually meant that some animal would never see the light of day on the street again I could live with that. But we all know how it works. "Good" time. The parole board. Naive students at liberal Universities. Governor's letting criminals out of prison without any public warning....
---not a cop
Thanks Quinn you cocksucker mother ****er!!

I am sorry to hear the officers missed their target and a good headshot.
Maybe Lisa Madigan can have the shooters FOID card revoked.
Sarcasm off.
it's not hire more people ,
get the house cats in the field and the beat cops to start doing street stops and let the gang bangers know who runs chicago streets , most coppers today are report writers , a job that could be handled by civilians
step up and lock up gang bangers for any minor traffic violation,
small amount of pot , etc
also are the shooters in the medical examiners office
that's where they would've been 20 years ago
WTF?!?! That's just a straight attack on police. Fuck these animals, this city, this state and everyone that runs it. This is what happens when you tie our hands you ignorant beaurocrats. Thank God the officers are ok.
it seems like we are the enemy but a good majority of people still support us--- the media and individuals with an agenda to push will continually try to make us look bad--- when you pull up to the usual friday night call, roll the window down about a half inch and let the shitbird talk for about one minute before you close the window and drive off with the usual code following shortly thereafter--- when you pull up to the guy wearing the suit who just finished working a ten hour shift and came home to find his front door kicked in and his house ransacked, get out of the car and give the best service possible--- we take care of our supporters and these shitheads can fend for themselves, they don't want us around anyway....
Yes, there is still a death penalty. It's in a holster on the
officer's hip or shoulder.
There were two other 'possible' endings to the stated scenario.
1) During the chase when the weapon was tossed out the window, the offenders are taken into custody, with or without extra holes in their bodies. The weapon is not recovered, a bottom feeder represents the family and cha-ching... new winners of the ghetto lottery!
2) After the offenders pull up next to the p.o.'s and start firing, the coppers return fire and kill them all.
Personally, I prefer the latter.
They were just celebrating the new legislation taking the death penalty off the table. I guess they wanted to be the first test case. Glad the officers are ok! There have been 4 police shootouts this week alone involving CPD and spring hasn't even come yet. Stay safe out there
"Seeing screaming people burn to a skeleton while clutching the burglar bars and being unable to do a damn thing for them".
Boy, I have been retired for eight years now, but when I read that I got sick all over again and the feeling of helplessness. Ran to the car to get a tire jack and attempted to pry the gates open and the lock off, but then the fire got too intense and had to crawl along the floor to get out.
1976 ENGLEWOOD.
The liberals will have them out in a blink of the eye.
When your a walking or driving bullseye one must ask themselves what is fair compensation for what the police do, deal with and see on a daily basis. There is no price on the ultimate sacrafice, permanent disability or lifetime emotional distress that goes along with it. Being the police is similar to enlisting in the armed services. Unlike during the 60s & 70s when the armed services were pissed on today they are honored. Being the police very few show the police any honor or gratitude because we are in the daily lives of the citizens. The are in their business and part of their daily lives. The police give them tickets, were not there to stop the burglar who broke into their homes, were not there when their Iphone was taken from them on Michigan Ave. And the police were there when their little angel was locked up for selling or buying dope. Being the police on a daily basis is almost 90% negative in the eyes of the everyday citizen. The police are looked at as this big financial black hole that get huge public pensions after they retire. The media has made it policy to beat the police issues to death because it sells, it stirs things up, it causes controversy. There are bad apples in every profession and there are systems in place to deal with those who cross the line. Watch out the next few years the police will be expected to give raises back, pay more for health insurance, to take unpaid days off, ect. Wihout the police going out and really WANTING to do their job and NOT just doing their job will decide which direction the city goes from here.. Sorry for the long post!!!
But there IS a death penalty, If you hit your mark. Make sure you practice even if you have to pay at a suburban gallery. Keep the death penalty alive.

AND it's a Saturday!!!
GIDDYUP!
WTF?!?!?!?!?!
the shitheads pulled up a squad car and just started shooting?
Is that what happened?
C'mon fellas... the deterrent argument? Really? Even the most hardcore political supporters of the Death Penalty stopped that one long ago. I support the Death Penalty also, but arguing deterrence makes you look ignorant.
They just OPENED FIRE? As in tried to ASSASINATE officers? What were the mopes fianlly charged with, UUW?
Did the R/O find a crack pipe in the car ? What else could make someone do something so crazy ?
I can't stand these liberal minded politicians. Thank God these police officers went home safely. Quinn you are a spineless piece of shit.

You can't be on the job. I've had many a conversation about "the needle" with these shitbirds. They fear it when it is applied. It just isn't applied with enough frequency. Talk to Texas shitbirds and I bet you'd change your mind.
