CPD vs CFD Hockey

Friendly reminder that the Police/Fire Charity hockey game will be held this Sunday at the United Center starting at 10 AM.

All pre-sale tickets go to the Department charity selling the tickets. All gate receipts are split 50/50 to the charities for the fallen among us.

And remember, daylight savings starts Saturday into Sunday morning, so if you show up without setting your clock, you will have already missed an hour of game time.

023 said....If I have to sit through one more long drawn out roll call with Capt. TL??????? OMG!!! When half the room is sleeping or in a coma, it's time for you to know you have lost your audience. We don't care about your war stories, your pushups, or how you ask people for thier thoughts and them rip them for thier ideas on how your time in front of them is a joke. Please go back ro Research and Development (if they will have you... NOT!).

We are hoping for a nice turnout this year as this is the best time slot we've been given in quite some time and, of course, we'd love to see our Brothers in Blue in attendance.

It promises to be a good, relatively clean game (they don't tolerate fighting anymore...bah!) that the whole family can enjoy. If you can make it, we will see you Sunday!

The plug is much appreciated, SCC.

If I may use this space for a short commercial...

If any of our members, family or friends want to show support for our first responders, here's yet another opportunity.
CPD vs. CFD hockey, football, baseball etc. game's proceeds all benefit our individual charities that honor our injured and fallen members.

THANKS to all that make it possible, participants and spectators alike.

All Gave Some Because Some Gave All

It's a good thing I'm not playing in the game, CPD hockey.

You'd be dizzy halfway into the first period from all of the rings I'd skate around you.

That said, have fun. Nothing beats putting the foil on.

Not the best or deserving players. ALWAYS has been a clout game. Guys who never show during the season still play in this game if daddy's phone call is heavy enough.

A big THANK YOU to 12MAR11 0140HRS
That's the truth. They forgot about the rest of the GUYS who show up to represent CPD in regular games. Take a look who plays this year and then look who played the years prior.

After reading some of the comments I hope I can answer some questions about the CPD hockey team.

First of all, do any of you people know what this game is all about ??

A charity game to raise some money for the CPD and CFD charities. THATS IT. There is no try out with the Wolves or Hawks following the game just like there is no try out with the Bears following the CPD football game.

People on these respective teams continue to play because it sure beats the hell out of sitting at home or talking constantly about COP SHIT with your buddies at the local pub. Some people use it as a stress reliever or use it as a workout.

Seriously, sit back and relax. The NYPD and FDNY sell out their games and actually have great followings for their teams. We are constantly trying to make this game a bigger and better event every year. If we gave out free stuff and offered Valet parking at the game, i'm sure some People would find something to bitch about.

And lastly, I play on the team and I am one of the out of shape guys someone mentioned, but I believe that we have some of the best hockey players who are CPD members playing within our organization.

And if you are one of those "gifted" players who choose not to play than thats fine. If not than come out and join us. We can only be as good as the players who get up and play. Remember, "Everyone is the Best player in their OWN MIND."

Also There are no free rides. The best player pays just like the guy who just learned to skate.
And for those of you who do not know we have players from all levels. Minor leagues, NCAA DIV I, II, and III and the Junior programs from throughout North America as well as players who are beginners, intermediates etc....

So before anyone thinks the fix has always been in should know that I was a person asked not to attend a UC game years ago by the people that ran the team at the time (TG and MT). Their explanation was that I didn't make enough games during our season. Well, I accepted it and moved on. EVEN after I received word from other team members that in the past they (TG and MT) allowed other people who never played during the season to just show up and play in this charity game. WHO CARES. That was the old way of doing stuff. We have a new system, new program and its being run by new people.

Remember, this is a CHARITY GAME played by EMERGENCY service personnel. THATS IT. NOTHING MORE OR LESS.

And lastly, to those negative people on here just complaining, I have one last thing....Im sure you were happy the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup BUT YOU PROBABLY BITCHED THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE WON IT AT HOME!!!!!

Sorry about the long rant, but I hope I hit some valid points along the way. Stay Safe Everyone.

Typical keyboard warriors spouting shit they know nothing of.

It has been a good couple years. If any of the players are "clouted" it is news to me.

Who are you kidding, you played at prior UC games when you hardly played in the regular season. Tell the TRUTH LIAR ! You make yourself look like a fool.

Czarnik well said, the game is for a great cause and has always been a great event. And as far as the "out of shape athlete's", I'm sure who ever wrote that comment is probably some outstanding athlete that played at the highest levels in sports in their life, and probably has done everything on the streets as well.

to 3/13/11 @ 145pm.......who's the fool???

You seem like a person with a grudge. I personally know CZARNIK and know he is a stand up person. And when it comes to hockey I KNOW he doesn't bullshit when it comes to telling the truth.

So next time you attempt to call someone out.....PUT YOUR NAME ON IT.......if not then your another FOOL who shoots off their mouth and thinks they know it all.....or better yet...put your equipment on and go play with these guys and see how long you"ll last......i'm sure you wouldn't say a thing to him or anyone else on the team in person......so who is the real FOOL??????

Cpd lost 4-3 to the Cfd. Cpd gave the firemen a 4-0
Lead through the first 2 periods. Cpd came back in the 3rd and put in
3 goals. As time ran out the Cpd had numerous oppurtunities
To tie it up but some of their "elite" players on the ice
Could not get the job done. 0-4 the last four years. Time for
Some on the team now to either get "cut" or go to a hockey camp or
Two to sharpen their skills.
