Quinn to Sign Bill

  • Gov. Pat Quinn is expected to sign legislation on Wednesday abolishing the death penalty in Illinois, according to the House sponsor and sources familiar with the governor’s plans.

The governor today quietly invited death penalty opponents to a private bill signing ceremony at his Capitol office scheduled for late Wednesday morning.
Nice to see Quinn protecting the rights of the next Gacy coming down the line.

I don't know anyone who admits to voting for this mush, thank God.

I guess this is what we get when a multimillionaire runs our state like it's his own personal playground. He's such a warm and fuzzy guy, doesn't want to offend anybody by, say, relieving society of a cop-killer or a child-molesting murderer.

Nope, not him; he's a great guy.

To those who claim that the death penalty isn't a deterrent, consider this; It is at the very least a specific deterrent to someone convicted and sentenced to die.

What's cruel and unusual about it is that it takes so damn long between sentence and execution.

How does Texas do it so fast?

Quinn: Soft on crime.

The problem in America today is APATHY. The pols throw out their stupid ass ideas and wait to see how much fallout it stirs up.

Nobody cares about the death penalty. The killers and criminals and their friends and families (aka the core of the Democratic voters) are strongly opposed to it as it affects them the most. The average law abiding citizen doesn't really care until they are somehow victimized or personally affected, so they say nothing.

Notice how quickly State Sen Cullerton changed his tune when he stirred up a shitstorm by suggesting that our pensions should be taxed.

Screw these politicians, they all suck!

Job security for the police.

Now all we need to do is to get that Push program going again to cut the prison expenses by putting the thugs back on the street.

Then the lawmakers can whine and grandstand about needing tougher gun control laws.

It ain't gonna matter how many or how tough any of the laws are if the judicial system doesn't enforce them.

The police will have to take care of business but don't dare slap them or cuss them out or police will risk going to prison.

This was always some protection for prison correctional officers since inmates killing officers usually received the death penalty.

Nothing will stop these killers now from not only killing COs but low-risk inmates who are usually preyed upon.

Only slightly OT

Now more than ever concealed carry is needed

A bill approving a process to carry a concealed weapon (HB 148) has passed out of committee on March 8th and is to go to the House floor for debate and a vote (If the politicians don't play their BS games)

There are actually 2 comparable bills in the Senate that will go through this process...
(SB 82 – SB 2150)

Now more than ever it is important for people to be a ACTIVE PARTICIPANT in this process....

First, go to the site below to get a list of active legislation

www.isra.org/legislation/

Next, go to this site to find out the contact information for your legislators...

www.elections.il.gov/districtlocator/districtofficialsearchbyaddress.aspx

Then call IMMEDIATELY and tell them to support the bills in green and block the bills in red from the ISRA site.

When you call your politicians be sure that you tell them to support HB 3130 which will make the state recognize out of state permits....

10,000+ second amendment supporters will converge on the Capitol in Springfield on Thursday March 10th for the Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day....if you can't join them in person, be sure to call your legislators and demand they support the right to carry and the second amendment

www.igold.isra.org/

Visit the forums of the websites below. They have a ton of great information....including how to get carry permits from other states that are recognized in many other states but our own (PA – 14 states...FL and UTAH 30+ with some variance between them)

Nothing for the common good, it's all about the cheap vote that continues their license to steal.

In crook county the workers continue to believe that it's all OK as long as they get their crumbs, their "spot", their county or city job.

"Don't make waves, kid" they bleat, "nothing's gonna change, just support the right guy".

They accept the phone call, the wink and nod, the "merit" appointments, the morons and imbeciles couched in the necessity of "diversity", the upside down world where the violent and lawless are coddled and protected and those trying to protect the average working citizens are villified.

Keep buying the tickets, keep contributing to your "19th ward" sociopaths, keep it up.

"But state Sen. John Millner (R-Carol Stream) is among those believing that the death penalty should remain in the state.

Millner, who has pushed for more training for police in homicide investigations, said the death penalty is a powerful tool for law enforcement and should be kept for the most heinous crimes. Victims of crimes and their families also should be heard on the issue, he said."

One of the issues that Mr. Millner has discussed is the instances where scumbag kidnappers have only told where the victims can be found either dead or alive only if the death penalty is off the table. That is no longer an option for prosecutors.

But none of the family members or survivors of police officer killings or home invasions or armed robberies gone way bad. No Gold Star family members were invited.

Just the liberal scum who wrinkle up their nose at the mere mention of guns or the death penalty but staunchly defend their right to butcher the unborn.

Something is wrong here, very wrong.

I would propose to all abortion advocates, no more conservative challenges over abortion if they stop their opposition to the ultimate penalty for those who murder, rape, rob and pillage. Fair enough?

Mayor Richard Daley and Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel were split today on abolishing the death penalty in Illinois.

"It's the right thing to do. I'm glad he's made that decision," Emanuel said. "It's a different day."

But Daley, a former Cook County state’s attorney, reiterated his support for the death penalty. “You know my position, I’ve never changed my position on that,” he said.

George Ryan put the moratoriam on the dealth penalty to stave off media heat from Sec of State scandal. The press was closing in on him; that move got them off his back. All of a sudden "the death penalty in Illinois" became headline news....not George Ryan and the Sec of State scandal.

Bald-fuck Quinn is doing the same thing by abolishing death penalty. State pensions are less than 40% funded, AND the Feds are looking into a recent bond auction to fund those pensions that could have violated federal securities regs.

Illinois is a sinking ship.

With the stroke of a pen, bald-prick is an MTV rock star and a hero in the eyes of the local and national media. The state's fiscal crisis is officially on the back burner.

Baldy will milk it now, he'll be going coast to coast on the news circuit, Oprah, Joy Behar, Dr Oz, etc; he's probably a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize.

This is nothing but politics at work here. Just shameful when you consider the monsters on death row that he commuted to life.
