Crystal Ball Unit Misses Again
A teenager was fatally shot in the face — and two men and another teen were wounded — at a party late Saturday in the Austin neighborhood.
But Devin Dyer, 18, was not the intended victim of the shooting in a building in the 5900 block of West Thomas Street, his girlfriend Tiesha Richardson said she believes.
Dyer, of the 1000 block of North Menard, was pronounced dead at Loyola Hospital in Maywood about a half hour after the midnight shooting, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Maybe, just maybe, instead of taking all this data about "shots fired" calls and disturbances and such, the Crystal Ball Unit should just troll the west and south sides for party fliers. That would give them actual addresses of future shooting sites rather than a general one-mile-by-one-mile box that doesn't seem to be working. After all, if they could predict it, they could prevent it, right?

Great! One more strong-arm robbery report to take when these morons walk around with their laptops, GPS units, and I-Phones tracking crime.
Word is they are trying to develop an App for that... Crystal Ball App for the I-Phone.... All patrol officers should have it by the summer. We'll predict crime in our pants...
That party was probably off da hook before the shooting.
I bet it was kinda like that party at the end of "Weird Science" at Wyatt's mansion but you know, totally ghetto!

Was this an "inside" or "outside" shooting? Maybe the crystal ball doesn't get good reception if the shootings happen inside.
I actually predicted that someone would be shot to death in Austin last week and I have witnesses to verify that. At a friend's retirement party last Saturday, in front of several former and current Chicago Police Officers I stated that someone is going to get killed by gunfire in Austin within the next ten days. Can I now apply for federal grants? My predictions are enhanced by good bourbon, so can I use the funds to buy booze?
Palm reading would probably be as effective. Wonder if Hillard will dump these assholes and force them to push their ESP crime model in the private sector.

Out of control youths raised by out of control families. Who will teach them control? Who will teach them how to live in a civilized society? Who will tell them that living outside civilized society is not "keepin it real". Who will tell them that what they are doing is wrong?

Why dont they (The Pentagon) just hire these guys to get Al Quieda. They hit with amazing accuracy, defy all predictions of movement, require no training and operate on flaming hot cheetos and St. Ides.

GPS locator - Where to go to position "y" to pinch them, after locating them at location "x" where the latest atrocity occurred.
A biorythm chip to see when they flatline. (probably at location x, after losing that debate.)

Need a driver?
Word on the street says that the 21year old female victim was having a birthday party along with a 27 year old female who was not shot.
The two birthday girls and most of the other guests had jobs, at legit companies we all know.
But some invited friends, who TXTed other friends and somebody showed up and saw a target of opportunity and BANG! Everyone else just got in the way.
Guess we will have to start looking at Birthday Party Invitations.
I wonder if this made up unit can see their demise coming? Methinks they're not long for this world under Rahm. Rahm wants more boots on the ground and even though these guys are useless they would be boots on the ground.
Rahm also can find lots of people hidden and squirreled away in most commanders and area offices etc.

The crystal ball Unit is as useful as J-Fled was as Stuperintendent. All the promotions by daley, via mellonhead should be considered as a "Tilt" and voided.
I predict that there will be a day when going to Wikipedia for the defenition of "Asshole", the answer will come back as richard m. daley. the definition of useless 'Coward" will result in jody weis being named.

I've actually done so. My team watched a party until someone got shot, car chase and an arrest. This was done back when numbers mattered. Just pointing out how sick and tired I am of "impact arrests"or "numbers".
The "Crystal Ball Unit" could do a lot of good if they could monitor web traffic like the NSA monitors communications to get Al Qaeda.
Where are the parties? Who is going when and where...
Not some patch where the poor undermanned district cops have a hard time covering.
The newest way for the rave parties is to call people to a corner, meet some people in a car, pay the admission and get a wristband and the location.
No publication of the address is made, so it is harder to bust before it becomes violent.
