This just looks like someone piling on Ramsey so he can't ever return to Chicago in any capacity except as a tourist.

Question: Was this an 'unreasonable' request by Ramsey, or was this a 'me, too' clause, matching JPWeis' contract?
Has anyone EVER seen Weis' whole contract, or did the media just buy into the b.s. Daley was spewing when Weis was hired?
Were there relocation clauses, housing stipends, medical coverage, a car, travel for the wife, dancing bears... what, exactly?

Not going to be Tina Skahill. She was in charge and responsible when the city swept the Alvin Weems fiasco under the rug. Skahill wrote up a bad police shooting into a good one and filed a report full of lies. The city was fine until the video came out. The very strong rumor in political circles that has been around from day one and is gaining steam is the next superintendent of police will be a women. Nothing mentioned about race, nothing mentioned if it is an insider or outsider, although the next mayor has stated his preference for someone with " chicago roots".
The next Superintendent for the Chicago Police Department will be a black male. Rahm is going to promote from within the ranks and his list of candidates will include James Jackson, Ernest Brown, and possibly Deborah Kirby. He will give the nod to Jackson.
For the average mope it makes no difference who the superintendent is.Same shit different face.

It's the equivalent of a corporation demanding tax breaks to come here. You can't expect these people to pay for a mortgage AND pay real estate taxes. You can't expect them to pay their share of payroll taxes, state taxes, county taxes, city taxes.

There was a time when I would have wanted someone within the department to be the next Superintendent, Unfortunately now the majority of the Command Staff are political appointees. They take care of their own and continue the cycle of who you have to know to get anywhere mentality, it's sickening. I would love to see someone like Bratton but that probably won't happen. The best I can hope for it a thirty year veteran that actually passed exams and did their time on the street rather than in choice spots. Can't say it matters much at this point, this Department has become an absolute mess, it's embarrassing.
What the fuck does it matter who gets it? Whoever it is, they're just gonna be a puppet of city hall.
It will be a male. Watch for the sleeper. John Escalante.
