Miedzianowski's Title Safe

The "most corrupt cop" title appears to be safely in Joseph Miedzianowski's hands for the foreseeable future:
  • Former Chicago Police Officer Jerome Finnigan and another member of the now-disbanded Special Operations Section were charged Thursday in federal court with stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from drug suspects, while two other officers were charged with lying in court.

Finnigan, 48, was previously charged in 2007 with plotting to kill a fellow officer who he believed was cooperating with investigators. He’s been in a federal lockup ever since.

  • Finnigan and Herrera, 33, face separate charges in state court for participating with a ring of Special Operations Section officers that allegedly kidnapped and robbed drug suspects. Those charges will be dismissed under the deal.
All those Class X felonies? Gone. Murder for Hire? Dismissed. Theft, Official Misconduct, the works? Nada.

Fantastic investigation there Kirby. Can we put this thing behind us yet? Until actual sentencing we guess - then they'll trot out all the crap again. One has to wonder if someone is clearing the decks so Rahm can come in without all of Daley's baggage still hanging around.

no, the murder for hire is still there. You can read the complaint online. It is too sad that two real good people, real good officers and real good cops went down with this. I guess vindication for them came in the form of Misdemeanor charges, and to those that do not know the rest of the story, you cannot lump Steve and Eric in with Jerry and Keith. Kinda sucks when your ordered by your LT (rhymes with Cake Cake) to go to court and then you get the G showing up at your door. I guess the lesson for all, what is on the paper is not always what happened, regardless of what you have been spoon fed by "Old Timers" and "Good Bosses" on this job. He was not the supervisor of this team of rogues, he just got caught up in the mix. He was forced to make a personal decision and leave the job that he loved to take care of his family, and now these assbags say that they are not going after the supervisors!!

I would HOPE that the old timers would NEVER tell you to put a LIE on paper! What is on paper should be true... There was a time when narratives were designed to be short and sweet, no extra information, nowadays, a thorough narrative is wanted, so, it becomes a little more time consuming to include all the details and make sure nothing false or that could be construed to be false is in the report. It is up to you to make sure that what is on paper IS what happened!

well, actually I would say it is... Not because the media thinks so but because if the feds had any other people they wanted to indict they would have by now. the feds always indict in large numbers and all at once... they dont gradually do it. If others were gonna be indicted then they would have been indicted yesterday along with the others. nobody is being charged with theft/robbery/home invasion and kidnapping which in federal court would get life or 25 year sentences like shama, miedzianowski or doroniak.. these guys are just getting civil rights violations which the maximum sentence is 10 years because it didnt cause death or great bodily harm. look for pleas for finnigan to be about 7 years. the whole case just melted down in state court so cc states attorney gave it to the feds to save face... so yes, its pretty much over.

To make a statement like "Blue shirts always get the shaft so that the ball can keep rolling" is completely irresponsible. I'm not condoning your alleged lack of supervision if there in fact was any, but when is it that we're responsible for OUR OWN ACTIONS?! If any Officers in this unit were coached to "Stretch the law" as you state, then shame on their Sgt and SHAME ON THEM!
Last time I checked we were all 3x7.
If your Sgt told you to stick your finger up your ass, you'd probably do that, too!
YOU ALONE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS!

Hey, you are the police, you shouldn't complain about having to wear YOUR uniform... Don't rag on others unless you are filling all 8.5 working hours with work... cause it just ain't happening.

OT - This is scary!

Corruption in the U S Border Patrol Service

In 2008, Homeland Security beefed up the Border Patrol by 1000 agents. They only polygraphed 10% of them though and 60% of those failed. Some were found to be gang members or have criminal records and at least one turned out to be an illegal alien. In the meantime, HUNDREDS have succumbed to corruption by the cartels, with one having taken a bribe of $5 MILLION to allow cartel shipments to cross the border.

This is true, we just got the word. In uniform starting tomorrow and until further notice. More smoke and mirrors. This makes no sense. It doesn't increase the manpower at all. We are all out there everyday no matter what we are wearing. Now we will be doing less work and are just the visibility police. No more surveillance and no more covert car. The message is, "just be visible, that's all we want." Boy, are the Lt.'s and some softball Sgt.'s going to be scared to death about the numbers. Personally, it just means we don't have to do as much.

Yeah, because the SOS guys who are accused are actually innocent.

There is so much rumor and speculation about this whole case.

The innocent don't plead guilty. No matter what Tobias actually knew, he wasn't doing home invasions and keeping the proceeds. He should have been demoted, not charged.

Kirby is what she is. If you paid attention, she actually sank the investigation, keeping many more from being charged and making the public outcry even worse. She's damn lucky to not catch a Federal beef. Rumor is that she came in and proffered. I wonder if the truth will come out. Love her or hate her, she impeded the investigation and there are numerous people of every rank that should be thanking her.

Sgt. DR truly got screwed. Everyone knows this. He was backing his guys, whom he trusted. They turned out to be shit and he bore the brunt. Politically, he had no one looking out for him. Everyone said he was a nice guy, but no one stuck their neck out for him. Everyone of you should keep that in mind!

New Dimension Added To Hell

Transgender inmates face new policy at Cook jail

2:01 p.m. CDT, April 8, 2011

"Transgender inmates at Cook County Jail can now be housed, dressed and searched according to their gender identity rather than their sex at birth, under a new policy.

"Transgender inmates are being screened by a Gender Identity Committee within days of entering the jail.

"The committee then decides where and how they should be housed, what clothes and toiletries they should have and what gender security officers can search them.

"The new policy took effect March 21. Jail spokesman Steve Patterson says it's been applied to six inmates since then.

"Advocates say they hope the new rules will help protect inmates who are most vulnerable to sexual abuse.

"Before, all inmates were automatically assigned to live among the gender they were born with, regardless of how they self-identified."

Watch your 6, because, in the end, you're the only one who will.

***********************************

REALLY? Because you are a grown man/woman on this job and you do not know the difference between right and wrong. NOBODY CAN ORDER YOU TO COMMIT A CRIME!

Slow down on the term innocent when referring to TS and CS. The "victim" couldn't do an identification and that's why they're not on the chopping block. And personally, I'm glad they're off. If shitty can escape the jaws of justice on this basic technicality then so should TS & CS. But before we start using the term innocent let's reflect on the facts of basic logic and if you worked with these guys in 153 and actually knew them ( like I did) then you know what I mean.

4/08/2011 06:14:00 PM

That's right, patrolmen in uniform do LESS work than you, oh great tactical specialist.

As someone who has worked in both civilian dress and in uniform during my career, let me just say this. Do you lose your special police superpowers without jeans? I think not.

*sigh*

carry on.

He is still and will probably always remain, "Chicago's most corrupt cop."Just ask anyone who worked in Gangs while this POS was there.

4/08/2011 06:26:00 PM

he was an asshole ... and now he took two kids E.O. and S.D. down with him because he would never show up in court to testify, they got stuck and are now paying for it. I can hear the story now once he gets out. It will be everyone elses fault and how he was a stand up guy.

Ray Risley isn't alone. Some old Gangs North guys still think Joe Medzianowski got a raw deal. By my book he was a cheap ass crook but the most corrupt? No way. Check out old Nedrick (Rick Miller) who is still in the joiint. Back in '73 he was implicated with the late Sgt. Stanley Robinson. Their crimes: killing drug dealers and dumping their bodies all over 011 and other locations. Robinson died in the joint; Rick skated on those allegations. He then ran drug operations for alot of years before finally brought down by a joint Federal/CPD task force.

Gee you knew both of them huh...

As I said much better than you did --- the "victims" weren't able to do an identification thus making the case go down the tubes. So I guess the investigation was shit. I'm glad considering I have known both TS & CS for over 15 and worked with both.

As for what I mean about using basic logic well dude if you don't get it you probably don't know them that well. But I'll say this, I sure as fuck am not going to list factual stuff that could put them back in hot water. If you don't know why the word "innocent" is the wrong word your blind or you were never in the inner circles.

And no BS about blending in the crowd, in most high crime areas the tact units are probably 75% white so there is no blending in the crowd

You are an idiot!!! Do you feel better about yourself now that you called someone (you don't even know who) a dog ass? Kind of sad that in order to state your opinion, which everyone is entitled to you have to resort to name calling. Kind of takes away anything from your opinion!!!

The only "Old Gang North guys" that still think Miedzianowski got a raw deal are the POS that were swinging with him at the time (partner, supervisor, etc). Risley? he was probably the biggest reason that Midzianowski got away with his shit for as long as he did. Another politically appointed nieve clown.

Rick Miller? you got me there, a little more corrupt than "Joe".

Miedzianowski, Finnegan et al.

I'm tired of hearing those names bantered in the media as representing the Chicago Police Dept.

Cheez, did they already forget, Wortham, Haymaker, Bailey, Soderberg and Flisk?

THEY truly represent the Chicago Police Dept.

That's why we attend St. Jude, the Candlelight Vigil, Run to Remember, Springfield and D.C. Memorials etc.
No one knows the true CPD better than us.

Funny he wasn't a witness for him at his trial.Well no balls is now the state police director. Good luck troopers and watch your back.Another political suck hole merit pick.

Hiram was a class act and an excellent policeman while in gangs. He got stuck with "Joe" and got away from him as soon as he could. To paint Hiram as anything other is ridicules and obviously comes from someone with some major jealously issues.
