Who's got the scoop? We heard a few of the old regime's field reps might be headed out of the office. According to the by-laws, the inside spots aren't tied to elected positions. It's at the direction of the president if we recall correctly.

First rule of combat children.. YOU DONT GIVE PEACE OFFERINGS TO A PERSON THAT WANTS TO CUT YOUR HEAD OFF. You hear that Mikey? Learn grasshopper...
SECOND RULE OF COMBAT.. You dont switch generals when both opposing armies are on the field of battle and are about to go to war.
You've got the equivalent of a community organizer in the big chair...LOLOLOLOLOLOL..You've been warned...
WRONG it's the Board of Directors....and guess who has the votes? The president does not vote unless a it's a tie. Let see who sells out their PALS!!!!
HAaa Let the games begin!
Syd Davis had the most votes? Why is he gone from FOP? Crickets chirping......
Hmm. Jody? Any input?
The ELECTED Recording Secretary Sid Davis is out.
Both of Mark's secretary's were told last Tuesday that they would no longer be needed and to clear their desks. (No severence, no notice)
Pleines is out.
The UN-ELECTED / no experience Jim McCarthy is in.
Your election means nothing.
The President can do whatever he wants according to the By-Laws.
Time for a change in the By-Laws.
You have a lawyer there now that has never tried a case in court. Great wouldn't want to have to be the first few "victims" of Jimmys lack of experience. Save your dues money kid for your legal defense fund. this guy anint top notch
All new field reps appointed...At Captain's pay. Can we really afford this right now? That money comes out of our dues. Most important question. How much experience do the new field reps have in police related incidents ie shootings etc...
The new Attnory is a Ray Ray guy Will KB be at FLOP next??????
FLOP FLOP FLOP all they do is spend our dues on high paying inside jobs $$
While you push around your squad in 015
Heard from Shields brother doherty and aguilar are next to go "back to the streets"! Since fop under the donohue regime decided to let the city off the hook and not pay the top 5,and let Us the union pay their huge salaries, would that mean the city would have to pay their salaries again? If so Bravo Mike Shields, Bravo. If not what the hell is going on young Clark Kent Michael?
good job get rid of all those people including karen
now make those vice presidents work for there jobs
used to be unions were just unresponsive -- didn't get what you wanted or needed. FOP -- gives you what you told them you don't want McCArthy and Derivera.
Preparing for negotiations please know that I don't want a pension, I dont want a raise and I defintely dont want a residency stipend. Go out there and do your best for me guys!
Actually read the contractits spelled out right there, he gets to choose. 1st time since the union was formed we are being led by an actual Patrolmen.
The only African-American, Sid Davis, that received the MOST votes out of any of the candidates was tossed out, along with his secretary Catherine. She was a single mom with well over 15 years working at the FOP. Nice lady, didn’t talk much, did her job. Tom Plienes was fired, today will be his last day, and he has well over 20 year’s contract knowledge. Bailey gone. Donahue’s secretary gone. Capperelli gets a $2000 a month stipend, Sid Davis gets nothing.
Now the question is, who’s representing us at the pension board now that our pension board trustee is the full time FOP President?
Contract negotiations start in June.
Two very important full time positions one person, how is this going to work?
Harold Brown is the chair of the trustee's, he's retired. But by next year we will have more retired trustee's on the board than active.
Hope it works out.
When is the FOP going to update the website? It's been a week already. Secondly, Sid Davis situation?
I received a resume from the secetary at FOP regarding loosing her job! Asking if their's anyone I know who could help get her a new job. I hope Shields is NOT going to hire his family like I heard, other wise we might have to RECALL or decertify his post! We had enough of Daley running the show for 20+ years we don't need another Ass! By the way who's taking over at the pension board I think shields has enough on his plate already! Someone else should do the pension board! I'am betting he will roll over like a hound dog to Rahm in a matter of weeks just wait and see I wonder if Vegas will give odds how soon he going to buckle under!
Saul, don't know his last name, took Syds place. He came from cold case with 10 years on. (Clout maybe).I hear his wife works for Kirby and McCarthy worked for Kirby also, but not sure. If true watch what you say at the FOP.
Better get your own attorney if you get in a jam.
Changing the subject, have you heard anything about the the new stars we're suppose to be getting? A fellow "co-worker" went to HQ to get a replacement star last week and after much hush-hush talk by the workers/bosses, he was given one of the new stars. Its the same design with the painted letters and its heavier, with the middle, circular area raised.....and get this.....he was told that there is an "RDS" chip in this area which can be used to identify the star in case its "lost" AND can also be programmed to gain access on the key pads.....sort of like our key cards currently do. Now, I'm not a tech guy but does anyone know if this "RDS" chip also be used as a GPS device? Because this can open a huge can of worms...
1234am sounds like an angry old timer that probably has been locked in FOP offices for far too long and may be afraid to hit the streets again. Im not sure what is considered a hair gel, I have 11 yrs so hopefully not me but it was time for a change with FOP. I voted shields and hope he will do a great job but realistically I have no idea. Was definitely willing to take a chance in hopes he would actually at least have the balls to challenge some people. If not then we can correct it in 4 yrs for the next election. I had nothing personally against Donauhe but sometimes a new voice and new direction is needed
Serious stuff going on with the union. Big investigation under way. Illegal? Heard it a few days ago from a reliable.
What are McCarthy and Del Rivero going to on a police shooting? Order pizzas like the other guys and nothing else. I live how they paint Del Rivero as a seasoned violent crimes dick, he was only in the area for a few months. I don't think he ever handled a homicide, just ones that cold case clears when they say the offender is dead. Didn't the membership vote not to elect these two? I would have more respect for Shields if he put his brother upstairs. Folks, we are in for a bad run.

************************************
Field reps have always received Captains pay at the expense of the union (us). This is nothing new. All the elected spots receive a $600 stipend. The offices in FOP hall are held by field reps, who are not necessarily the people elected. FOP pres selects field reps and Board of Directors votes on those who are picked. Shields didn't just make this up, it has been this way for quite some time. As far as the "can we afford this now" comment, the union is not in any kind of financial trouble I know of however if you are trying to say that captains pay is too much money for their responsibilities, I would agree. The most important thing as you stated is WHO ARE THE FIELD REPS. As of this time the site hasn't been updated and I haven't heard who those people are. I do hope Mike keeps at least one or two guys that have been there. I wouldn't want an entirely new crew of people with zero experience handling all the jobs of the field reps.
"the nose" D.B. 021 kicked out of the f.o.p. office!
Sounds liek Harold Brown Nose is runnin g the show!
It shows immaturity and inexperience.
Getting rid of your top vote getter and bringing in two non-elected P.O's......bad form.
Firing the secretarys with no notice....bad from. These women worked their asses off and had no political agenda.
Lastly getting rid of Tom Plienes, an experienced labor lawyer and keeping the hair gel scum Geiger, bad form.
You've been warned folks!
Pleines is out.
The UN-ELECTED / no experience Jim McCarthy is in.

I can confirm this. I was at the Credit union on Wed afternoon and saw Pleines walkin out of the FOP building to his car carrying a box. .... SAD SAD DAY !!!
The only one that was not brought back is Sid Davis. He is still our recording sec. but he now back as an E.T instead of being assigned to the hall. Some of you guys are so quick to judge Shields. Give him a chance and let him take office first. bake
Sometimes I feel like this is high school with all these bullshit rumors. The only one that was asked to go back to the street was Sid Davis. He will still do the job that the membership elected him to do but he will be on the street instead of at the hall. Some of these rumors are a joke. Mike Shields was elected by the membership and all the crybabies need to deal with it. Keep crying. Shake and Bake.

Deer in the headlights...
Dear-- We are fucked-
Throughout the country we keep electing the wrong people- Unions are fucked.
At the moment, there are 15 post. I'm guessing they came from our FOP reps. How about using complete sentences and spell check your ramblings? I can't understand what the heck you're whining about! If this is your level of education/professionalism, then you're part of the problem within our FOP.
All I ever hear from you people are complaints about the other guy. How about communicating clearly with us "blue shirts" so that we know what's going on within this department? We need you to fight our battles with the city not with each other. I swear I'm just sick of all the whining on the watch. I'll be damned if I'm going to accept the same type of behavior from the FOP!
Grow up already and learn to work with each other to better provide for all of us?
Rahm is having a good laugh along with the city negotiators.
Let it began- Lets go to our meetings and hold the bully to the fire.
The appointees will collect captain's pay. Those elected to the spots taken by the appointed will still get paid whenever they are called upon to perform their official duties. So where is that extra money coming from? What a silly question! It comes from your dues. I would also question the experience of the field reps when it comes to handling police shootings. How many shootings did these individuals handle at the areas? Sure would hate to see a copper get jammed because of an "on the job" learning curve. Just sayin.
Cant wait to see what we will lose in the next contract.
Plenty- I'm gone!! 15 Months that's it for me, i can't lose what I worked for.

Be careful what you wish for.

HEY GENIUS where were you hiding the past several years....captains pay has been around a long time.
betcha(i know i asked) the donahue guys wouldn,t tell ya that...even if you asked them
I voted for mike and I voted for Sid Davis, that's bullshit that mike is superseding our votes, it's bullshit.
Cant wait to see what we will lose in the next contract.
Although DONAHUE was a complete and utter mouse among men, the FOP as a whole didn't do all that bad..
---
Lets be honest . .
All the FOP or any other labor organization that does not have the power to go on strike is ASK for a raise or better benefits.
The FOP and CITY 70% of the time since 1981 go to impasse.
Then the ARBITRATOR decides what the finial pay and benefits will be.
As far as a PAY RAISE is concerned, you will almost always get a raise if the Consumer Price Index has risen.
Even if it is only 1% a year.
However, I agree that DONAHUE and his people were not all that bad. However, just as in politics, elected individuals should NOT be in office an exorbitant amount of time. Otherwise they can go stale and risk "jumping into bed" with the other side.
I wish Shields and his team all the best.
Is that why Mark never returned any calls?
When Tim Fallon died and Capparelli was put out of the office the replacements were from the trustees. If Mike brings in someone who was not elected by the membership he could start an internal war that is not necessary. I always thought Fallon was an arrogant s.o.b. but he was effective in dealing with the city. I would love to see Aguilar thrown out of the office but he was elected. I do not see where is was effective except as a self promoter. If Mike is not going to seat elected representatives then he should start with his own ticket in Harold Brown and Al Jagoff first.
If Mike brings in one of the bosses kids who were not elected into the office than I see three years of internal fighting that are not necessary.
Our fight is with the 5th floor of city hall and HQ and even more importantly in Springfield not with the membership which has spoken at the ballot box.
thanks for all your hard work greg--- it's good to see you stalking the halls of a/5 again....

I am not a patrolman, but I hope they have field Reps that know what they are doing or some poor copper is going to get it rammed up his %#* at some shooting.
Shields went to great lengths to tell the membership how dougherty aguilar and company were unable to lead us for another three years and what does mike "let's make a deal" shields do? Dougherty and aguilar keep there captains pay $120,000.00 plus the people on his team who were chosen by "mike let's make a deal" shields turns his back on his own people. Who's next Mike you should bring back Bella!!!
Please repost in this comment section --- TKS
I'm a little confused--
You LOSE the FOP election for FIRST VP and you WIN a $140,000. a yr. job.
You LOSE the FOP election for FINANCIAL SECRETARY and you WIN a $140,000. a yr. job.
You WIN the FOP election for RECORDING SECRETARY (and you're the biggest vote getter) and you LOSE your $140,000. a yr job and get a $7,200. a yr. stipend?
What part of this picture am I missing?

SOUNDS LIKE THE BOARD NEEDS TO ADD A BY LAW?
BUT MARK WAS WORRIED ABOUT TAKING TRIPS ON FOP DIME AND MADE BYLAWS ABOUT NONSENSE GOING TO CONVENTIONS!
AND MIKEY DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT PUTTING J-FLEDS CRACK TEAM IN THE OFFICE UNLESS U WANT A BACKLASH.
WHO IS GOING TO BE THE NEW OFFICE DOLLIES?
IT MUST BE DEPRESSING THERE.
GET RID OF THE SGT OF ARMS TOO A BUNCH OF LAZY HUMPS WATCHING A SIGN IN BOOK.
BUT UR BABY HUEY LOOKING LAWYER BUDDY TO DO IT.
Shields and company are inexperienced and will destroy this union in short order. McCarthy???? Are you serious? This nitwit spent his career going to school on the department's dime and doesn't know the first thing about litigation or what real police officers do on the street. Oh yeah, and Sal Del "LAPA" Rivero, another political hack who couldn't find his ass with both hands. All you idiots who voted for Shields and company will learn: You reap what you sow.
TO the former FOP.
Let it be!
You lost. Goodbye.
Like the one commenter said, we needed a change! Former FOP had all these years to impress us, and defend us. If this new crew doesn't work out? We'll know who to vote for in new election. Just let it go! This Shields team bashing is getting fucking old!
All new field reps appointed...At Captain's pay. Can we really afford this right now? That money comes out of our dues. Most important question. How much experience do the new field reps have in police related incidents ie shootings etc...
Is one of them Shields Brother. Talk about nepotism- Chicago way.
Why doesn't Marky Mark give his cohorts a nice cushy spot next to him? Bye bye FLOP.....you'll get no tears from me, jagoffs!
I voted shields and hope he will do a great job but realistically I have no idea. Was definitely willing to take a chance in hopes he would actually at least have the balls to challenge some people.
Hey ass hole some of those people were voted in. The officer workers who know their job did nothing to him-- What a prick shields is we had better start looking at the The teamsters.
UM, Surprise your new FOP president gave the old FOP president a $75,000a year NEW position.
So how bad of job did Sheilds really think Mark did?
Congrats to all of you that voted for Shields. You got what you asked for.
To the unpublished ignoramus:
We didn't endorse anyone. No one sought our endorsement and we didn't offer one.
GFY asshat.
Dear 9:06 a.m

Old FOP President automatically gets the position of Immediate Past President and a seat on the board. No choice about it.
The new FOP board approved $35,000 for a new car for your new FOP President.
What does the FOP President make, I wonder?
The old FOP President gets to keep his FOP car to use for his new position at the FOP.
That board meeting was like a bunch of Drunkin Sailors.
I'm still laughing!!!! Gotta love it!!!

WRONG
Mark Donahue was an FTO when he was elected. His promotion to Detective came when he was President. He never actually worked as a Detective.
It's about time for a damn change in the FOP from the top down. We've had mostly detectives and special units in that office for years and most have gone to bed with Daley and the city administration. I, for one, am glad there is a big shake-up and the new FOP leadership will lead us into a better era.
Maybe we can get Mike Shields out!

Lets look at: "Since fop under the donohue regime decided to let the city off the hook and not pay the top 5,and let Us the union pay their huge salaries, would that mean the city would have to pay their salaries again? If so Bravo Mike Shields, Bravo."
**Donohue did not agree to the giveback on salaries, AL JAGLOWSKI, DEAN ANGELO (Senior) and the entire NOLAN TEAM, agreed to the give back on salaries in the 1999-2003 Contract that we voted down 2.5 to 1 and got shoved down our throats in the arbitration. So now, what you bitch of, gets delivered right back to us with HAROLD BROWN (old Nolan Team guy, as Chairman of the Board) and the old architects of our surrender to the City. What will they give away this time?
Oh, yes and that deal was part of the "me-too" with the Sergeants and Lieutenants, so Al Jaglowski, Dean Angelo's dad, and Harold Brown and the boys crippled the Lieutenants union by costing their full-time worker, and seriously hobbled the Sergeants by making them divert so much of their dues right back to the City. Al campaigned for that all around the city.
Sid Davis is and always has been A closet company man , he's doing backflips to avoid going back to A unit that doesn"t want him there , when he was an ET he was on 2nd watch by management and also the unit rep???????? He was always on the side of the city if someone had A beef and on at least one occasion refused to help an officer file A grievance , I guess they'll have to get someone else to cut & paste the article he submits over & over again for the FOP newsletter , he's had people bullshitted for A long time and it's good that someone finally called him on it! I'm sure they can find some kid that will be able to keep up the bulletin board .
You've got the equivalent of a community organizer in the big chair...LOLOLOLOLOLOL..You've been warned...
4/08/2011 12:34:00 AM
Your a putz, get a life you jerk.
Can we drop out of the union if so does anyone know how?
Wow. Shields is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
Read the by-laws and constitution, people. He's not doing anything against the rules by placing people of his choosing upstairs. And no, they don't even need to be from the elected pool. But if Shields wants to keep any of his campaign promises, changes were necessary. Personally, I would have liked to see Aguilar go. Until he learns how to talk to people, he has no business upstairs.
It's ok, Sid. You can still do the boards in 477. But you better learn how to work a digital camera. We are short in the field. Suit up!
The new stars DO NOT have chips in them. We ordered the stars from the same company that made the first batch of crappy stars. The only difference between the old and new stars is the quality of metal and paint used on the raised city seal. Fortunately, the department did not have the money to buy the chipped stars and the only stars we could afford were a level up from the old crappy stars. AND--Even if the new stars had chips, we don't have an ISD department or the manpower to manage this type of project. I don't think Lewin would hire Unisys techs to run around to track down our missing stars. Lastly, chips were not even an option discussed when the order was placed. If someone in Admin told you the stars were chipped they were yanking your chain.
Whats an asshat?!

Doherty & DiMaria from the old group stayed on. As for Sid Davis, the newly elected president can select whatever elected people he wants to serve at the hall. We've had Treasurers, Sgt At Arms, and Trustees who served down there. It's up to the president.
And Shields hired Mark Donoghue full time to be a Springfield lobbyist for us. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
Pleines fucked up my hearing. I had everything laided out and he told me not to worry, just answer their questions. As I did what my counsel told me and as I told my counsel to add some pretty important facts, that needed to be added.
I know Jim McCarthy and he would have at least spent more than 10 mins with me preping my case. Jim would have heard me tell him to mention what was important to add to my case and help me out.
Fuck you jaggoffs!
I'm glad Pleines is out, he did nothing, jack shit on my case. I have to hear you stick up for Pleines and bad mouth Jim, knowing he would have done more to help then shrugg his shoulders.
Not and never Anonymous,

thanks goodness Recording Secretary Sid Davis is out good luck loser now go work the streets dumb ass .
Again to the unpublished asshat:
Be sure you find that endorsement and let us know where it is short-bus. Because we'd love to see it. Then take your tiny-brained conspiracy theories and stick them where the sun doesn't shine.

Agreed. Pat and Cathy were great and always helpful. Getting rid of Pleines was also a really bad move. There was no need to get rid of all of that experience.
As far as someone mentioning Greg being in A/5. Yes, he's back. He's loved and welcomed in the district and the area. He's a class act.
Let me start by saying that I did NOT vote for Sheilds, that being said,to the winner goes the spoils. He should pick the people that he trusts will help him get the job done.Just because he is young don't beat him up.Give him a chance,if he fucks up then bash him.Personally I wish him much success.

"UM, Surprise your new FOP president gave the old FOP president a $75,000 a year NEW position."
WRONG
Mark Donahue was an FTO when he was elected. His promotion to Detective came when he was President. He never actually worked as a Detective.

Again MORON, Is a FTO a 9161 title code you stupid FUCK----NO, its a D-2position, therefore not a 9161title code DUMMY
Can we drop out of the union if so does anyone know how?
You can pay half - they call it your fair share- We need the Teamsters.
"Shields and company are inexperienced and will destroy this union in short order. McCarthy???? Are you serious? This nitwit spent his career going to school on the department's dime and doesn't know the first thing about litigation or what real..."
First of all, anyone that hasn't been an FOP president in the past would be "inexperienced" until he or she has done the job. Second, why are you trying to make going to school "on the department's dime" sound like a BAD thing? It's not like he stole the money from the department to go to school. In case you haven't heard....they will pay for ANY of us to do the same. Maybe you should consider it.
Plienes was kept over from the Nolan administration. When Donahue got in they talked about dropping him, but he did have "extensive knowledge" of the department. Also was supposedly related to some boss years ago.
No one that has ever been elected FOP President had experience before they got there. Give Mike a chance. But get involved and stay on top of union affairs.
As for cutting the secretaries: oh well. Sorry for them but maybe the office needed streamlining.
4/08/2011 06:56:00 PM
No? Really? Al Jaglowski did something stupid? Shocking, I tell you, just -ahem- shocking!
Sorry; can't keep a straight face while typing this. Let's just say I'm not surprised at all. What a goof.
Whats an asshat?!
4/08/2011 08:27:00 PM
it's a hat you wear on your ass.

4/08/2011 09:36:00 PM
We had a lobbyist on the payroll previously. Donahue is better, he has contacts and they have been seeing his face regarding FOP issues for many years. Donahue was IL State FOP President too once upon a time.
Keep those undies from going into a knot, the sky isn't falling.

4/08/2011 08:42:00 PM
The locator/tracking chip chip will be implanted behind your left ear when you get your new star. It will transmit your GPS coordinates, every word you say, your thoughts, political affiliation and sexual preferences along with BAC and body fat index.
You can never tell a citizen to go fuck themselves ever again or it will tase the brain with a disciplinary shock. It will also force a smile and an involuntary "Yes sergeant" in response to every idiotic order you are given.

Maybe we can get Mike Shields out!

Easy enough to do, just vote for someone else in three years.

When Tim Fallon died and Capparelli was put out of the office the replacements were from the trustees. If Mike brings in someone who was not elected by the membership he could start an internal war that is not necessary. I always thought Fallon was an arrogant s.o.b. but he was effective in dealing with the city.
4/08/2011 12:34:00 PM
Tim Fallon sure was effective, he was great down there. Once you got past the arrogant part he was great to work with. He knew his stuff and he would do anything to help police officers.
He was the go to guy for many unit reps and would go beyond what the contract mandated in helping coppers at all hours of the night.
His loss was deeply felt. Great guy.
Enough about this! We were promised the great orange Pat Camden. Is he out there on the streets of Chatham this morning saying, "In fear of their lives the officer(s)
do you think he's still orange, or did he upgrade at the tan salon? What about the hair? Did he ask Nolan about how to color? Thank you Jesus he's not asking for hair advice from the pension board -- Shields or Hauser?
Guys -- just accept it; try to take it like a man
And Shields hired Mark Donoghue full time to be a Springfield lobbyist for us. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

When we voted for change, it wasn't the change we wanted in Ddonogue's pocket. WTF is Shields thinking? Does this meanMarkie will get a new car? SAME OLD BULLSHIT!!!!
This has to be another bull shit rumor about buying Mike a new car. I can not believe that they would do this at Mike’s very first board meeting. McCarthy was not elected and has no experience in contracts of any other law since he graduated from law school while on the job. He is a management guy working 50 feet from J-Fled. He sold his soul for that job. So that has to be another bad rumor. If not this two facts will doom Mike to one term as president
Tim Fallon sure was....THE BEST!! A great guy and a great cop

The problem with people is they don't accept changes ,well i am glad mike shields has balls to do the job good jobs mike .
We had a lobbyist on the payroll previously. Donahue is better, he has contacts and they have been seeing his face regarding FOP issues for many years. Donahue was IL State FOP President too once upon a time.
The decision to hire Donahue as the lobbyist is the right move, However from were I sit the rest of his decisions suck- Don't fire good workers who have no Agenda.
They threw Sid Davis out of the office. What a bunch of BS. Sids worked hard for the members of this organization and as the first black field rep it's a disgracen what they did to him. than Shields has the nerve to allow the board to give John capparelli $2000.00 a month to work out of the office and tells Sid his job isnt as important and he doesnt deserve any more money. Shields brings in two losers from his group. Sounds like voting for who you want doesnt mean crap!!!!
I heard from Shield's brother that the two fired secretary's were replace by life long friends of Mike. He would not say what they are being paid or what benefits they have. Hmmmmmm I though I voted for transparency. I giuess I got fooled again.
Although DONAHUE was a complete and utter mouse among men,
Marky Mark did O.K. Shields appointed him the Legislative Director at a salary of $70,000 a year. Now Mike will hire Mike Kasper as the Lobbyist for a cool $120,000 which correct me if Im wrong is $190,000 for the jon No Toole did the whole job for $42,000a year. Spend Mikey spend its not your money.
This is exactly whats wrong with us we are retarded. " I voted for Shields and hope he will do a great job but realisticly don't know." You sir are retarded.

Go drive a truck, you'll get the Teamsters.
The lobbiest was not let go, the lobbiest and Mark will be working together in Springfield. Mark gets to keep his car that he used as President.

OMG!!! Kasper defended RALM in the residency case!! He is also the pension board lobbiest!!!! Good Lord are we screwed!!!
Does anybody see what's going on here???
“We object strenuously” to having to bring in Rule to testify, said Emanuel’s attorney Mike Kasper. “She is the mother of three young children and it’s no secret they attend school in Washington, D.C.”
Serious stuff going on with the union. Big investigation under way. Illegal? Heard it a few days ago from a reliable.
any one have information on this please provide info asap
Rumor about $35000 car for Shields is a FACT! Ask him at the next meeting. Its been voted on and a done deal. I voted for Mike and iam disappointed about this. Why can't we LEASE a car for 3 years and save thousands of dollars. I want fiscally responsible leaders at FOP-not big spenders like Barry Sotero!
Ha all you goofs drank the kool aid and voted for someone with no experience. Now he will run the union into the ground. You must be the same ones that voted Obama.
Investigation has something to do with the election. Nothing else for now.
Both got severance of six weeks and again this is at will employee that means you can be terminated at anytime for any reason included bringing in new secretaries to change how things are done. Obviously it might be a good idea to bring in a secretary that does not hate you and will accomplish what you ask them without sabotage.
Geiger has been fighting the city on behalf of chicago officer's for over 14 years. His passion is sticking it to the city. Anything that plinnes did that was successful was written by geiger or geiger came up with the idea to do it. Plinees wanted to play along with city many times when geiger would call him out. Check geigers wins for officers in the past. Any big win at fop legally has had geiger behind it just ask mark or bill. Plinees was a waste of a desk at this point. The city didn't care about plinnes however they would appoint several (5-8 different lawyers ) to go over Geiger's briefs and legal fillings. This is why the fop brought him down before the city who made many offers to try to get geiger to work against us.
mccarthy wont be in court. not his role. Geiger will be handling the court battles like always lord knows it wasnt plinnes
all those who were elected retain their roles and votes. Anyone that mike's brought up (jim and sal) will not have a vote. Bringing you past secretary at the pension board is not a crime. just someone that Mike has professionally worked with before and respected. They are only their to assist him and us in the end if they lead to a more successful and approachable union. Mike doesn't vote unless it's tied. So anyone you elected will be representing you when the board needs take a vote. The only thing mike has done has cleared out some people who made it clear that they did not want to work with him. If you made it clear to your new boss, that you don't want to work with him or play nice, you'd be dumped too. Ask many guys who where sent to far away districts.
Mike went down and interviewed everything regarding what they wanted to do, what ideas they had and what they thought needed to be fixed. Anyone who seemed the least interested in their job with some passion for our union stayed in their current role. Just asked rich aguliar who acted like a royal jag to mike every time he saw him. So mike didn't run on personal preference, just professional opinions. He asked people who presently worked there who needed to go.
Is that why Mark never returned any calls?
4/08/2011 12:27:00 PM
That's because his secretaries never gave him the messages.
When is the FOP going to update the website? It's been a week already. Secondly, Sid Davis situation?
wasn't that Sid davis's job. Again maybe there is a good reason.
Why do the field reps get the $7200
stipend along with the $140,000 Salary? TRhat does not seem right.
I hope Shields corrects this.
Calling Geiger a hairgel scum is wayyy out of line. Ive been in his office and have seen the incredible amount of beefs that he defends for assholes like YOU, the fuck ups that I would be ashamed to even be accused of, he tries to help you with. Be sure to tell him he's a scumbag when ur nuts are on the line
First of all, the inside upstairs (non-president spots) makes Captain's pay. They do not make $140k a year.
As for the stipend being paid to the upstairs people, you can thank Tim Fallon for that one.
