• Three people were shot, one fatally, late Friday afternoon in a drive-by shooting in the Bronzeville neighborhood, Chicago police said.
• A 14-year-old girl was shot in the back and critically injured during a fight in the North Austin neighborhood on the West Side early this morning, police said.
• A man was critically wounded this evening after suffering at least two gunshot wounds to the head not far from Washington Park on the South Side, police said.
• A man was shot and critically wounded on the street tonight in the city's Englewood neighborhood, authorities said.

This is Friday into Saturday. We're sure the overnight tallies will add a few, none of which have been predicted by the Crystal Ball Unit. How about putting those people back in squad cars and preventing crime that way?

• Updated story - A man who was critically wounded after suffering at least two gunshot wounds to the head near Washington Park on the South Side has died, police said.
• An 18-year-old man was killed in a possible drive-by early this morning in the South Side Winneconna Parkway neighborhood, police said.
• Two people were shot in two separate incidents in the South Side Englewood neighborhood, police said.
• A man suffered a gunshot wound to his head this morning, but is expected to live, police said
• Two men were shot and seriously wounded in the South Side Washington Park neighborhood early this morning, police said.
• A 20-year-old man was shot and killed in the South Side Brighton Park neighborhood this morning, police said.

The real warm hasn't arrived yet, but we're counting 14 shot, 4 dead just from the BreakingNews headlines - about double what it was when we posted 5 hours ago.
