Bad Call Tommy
The $142,464-a-year deputy Streets and Sanitation commissioner who presides over Chicago’s Snow Command has been slapped with a 25-day suspension for allegedly using city employees to perform his personal errands on city time.
Inspector General Joe Ferguson had recommended that Managing Deputy Commissioner Bobby Richardson be fired for ordering his underlings to pick up and deliver his cigars, have his personal car washed and keeping the vehicle filled with gas.
The alleged abuses occurred “on a daily basis” over a period of years, wasting “hundreds of hours of city employee time for the personal benefit” of one boss, Ferguson concluded.
Instead, Streets and Sanitation Commissioner Tom Byrne reduced Richardson’s punishment to a 25-day suspension.
- In a written response to the inspector general’s report, Byrne argued that immediate termination “should be reserved for criminal conduct, serious threats to operations and/or safety or egregious administrative or ethical failings.”
- Criminal Conduct = Criminal Charges & Jail Time;
- Administrative Violations = Termination

This is why we should be electing our City Inspector General and give him the ability to investigate any city employee including the mayor and alderman. Maybe then we wouldn't have to rely on an over worked and under staffed US Attorney’s office who only comes around to investigate every 6 or 7 years. I commend Inspector General Ferguson for his investigation but how long do you think the Rahmulator will let this continue. The inspector general’s office should be expanded to include 75 full time investigators. The Inspector Generals office is the only entity standing between the taxpayer and the corruption and graft committed by the hundreds of goofs like Richardson, who are still on the city payroll, every single day.

Isn't old Tommy Byrne married into the Daley clan? No wonder he thinks he's entitled to do whatever he wants regardless of the circumstances.

Looks like the LAPA girl Mendoza new city clerk not only wants a CPD detail,but she came storm trooping in and handed out termination letters to many employees,including my friend a dedicated investigator. Looks like the city sticker rate hike will be in soon (Did anyone get their renewals yet for this waste of taxpayers money?) Why is there a city clerk's office anyway when all they do is duplicate the revenue office? I talked to director of revenue and even she thought it was crazy to have an office the size of the clerks with all the high salaries.
Now susan has many spots for her clout who helped her get elected! (Maybe susan as rahm said "shared sacrifice" why are you not just getting rid of these positions instead of using them to bolster your supporters? Oh susan you started with ray frias he held your hand and your a big girl now!
Tom "Thumb" Byrne has never, ever, been accused of having too much brain power. His career, both at CPD and post-CPD, is entirely about clout. It has nothing to do with smarts, competence or personality because he has none of those qualities.

I remember years ago when lil Tommy Jagoff Byrne's daughter was involved in a PI accident on Devon Av and she sent two elderly people to the hospital due to HER running a red light... The officers who responded did the investigation made her the striking vehicle amd issued her 2-3 citations..... Well she was on her cell phone and the officers had no idea who she was or who she was calling but lo and behold.... lil Jagoff Tommy Big Head pulls up and speaks to the FTO for the PPO who wrote the crash report and told him to tear it up and put her in box2 !! Also told the kid who wrote the tickets to see him in the station with his ticket book... Lil Tommy Fuck face pulls the PPO into his office and tells him to write a to/from stating he "lost" his ticket book and to post date the to/from... I know all of this happened for a FACT because the kid was my PPO and I happened to be off that day...otherwise I would have told gim to xerox the ticket book , write the to/from and call IAD... Tommy Byrne.... You arw a piece of shit.
When Little Tommy became a CPD in 1970 the height requirement was 5-09, looks like Little Tommy has lost a few inches since 1970, but Tommy got the job because of who he knows and not what he knows

I retired from that office,and get a big pension but still it is a waste of time. susie that girl has no clue,maybe her mentor frias will advise her along with her connections to little luis the FALN terrorist congressman.
