And word coming in about a whole bunch of boxes being delivered to 35th Street:
- The bartender was seen boxing her shit and clearing out her office late last night. She's done as of May 15th!
We're sure we have some interested parties in the building. She can't be the only one packing. Who else has seen the bundles of boxes from Office Max being delivered around the cubicles and cubbyholes of HQ?

Rumor has it that the lottery is a sham! that they did not even get their score on the outside consulting firm administered test. they just received a letter saying that they have passed the first part and would receive a lottery number from the city. Once this number was assigned they would be hiring In order . starting at number 1. Anyone out there take the test? what is your number? it defeats the purpose of assigning a number then going In order. A number should be assigned then once assigned put In and picked randomly ... Wanna bet the top 100 are clout heavy! same old politics ! The new Superintendant should look into this . I can not believe the media hasn't caught on.

Yea i took the 2010 written test. The lottery was a total joke. There is no point to even having a written test since they dont even give you a score. The lottery system is a total joke, just like the rest of the hiring process!! 6400 people in the lottery, at the rate the city is hiring it will be quite a long wait!!
NYPD has a great system, you walk in take the exam and immediately after you finish you get your score on the screen!!!

I am on the list for 2010 and know many of friends on it. Some have clout, some do not. The lottery numbers are, from what I have asked around to people, random. They gave preference to those who had a family member die in the line of duty. They also are trying for 20% of veterans in the class so those vets with higher lottery numbers were also called for the first power test along with #s 1-250.

My brother took the test and he has a number around 2000 which makes sense because we have no clout and he's white.
I see somebody already said it but I will repeat. Cuello was boxing her office up long before McCarthy was named Supt. She was going to retire and is set for life. I know wouldn't be upset leaving CPD with what will probably be a 6 figure pension. Must be nice.

Nothing? If you really think this incompetent, overpaid booze slinger's exit has nothing to do with the winds of change, you must be very new to the adult world. How a nice guy like EO'D chose to be with her and her drama will remain a mystery, but together, they will be pulling down 225K a year just from their combined CPD pensions alone. Not bad. She's a nothing, but she snared a nice guy and came a long way from chopping and twisting limes. She must be a good cook.

I would not put too much into this. I seriously doubt that any real bloodletting will occur. I believe the new supt. is smarter then that. I think he will look at the staff and try to work with some for awhile to asess their abilities. He really does not know anyone at this point. I think his goal will be to get some policies into place to curtail violence for the summer and give the current leadership an opportunity to produce. But, this is just my guess based upon how new leadership reacts generally in a corporation or the military.

You forgot Georgas. While your at it, have steve take Lt. Marianovich with him, he has ran our unit into the ground. Morale is nonexistent in our unit because of Lt. Eminiem. His motto is, we are not happy until you are not happy! Is it really that hard to say hi or talk to your employees when you see them? I was out of town and talked to a girl who took the test. She said she was number 2,000 something. When I asked her what score she received, she just looked at me all puzzled.

To the 12:55 poster, the number assigned is a random number. It was the same way in 2006, whether they pick random assigned numbers numerically, or draw random numbers from the already random numbers you would still call a fix.

I have read the blog for years and will never out a copper,but I think many will be surprised at a lowly airport (051) who was dining with McCarthy last Friday in 018! My son took test and was told he passed. He then received an email from City Hall stating he was no longer eligible. Since I have been around a long, long time, I told him call up and find out exactly why he was no longer eligible and they stated that it was for one of the multiple reasons listed. Anyway he wanted to know specifically and they told him he didn't have enough college credit. He has more than enough and had to explain to whomever was on the phone that they were reading transcript wrong. They said that they would contact him in two or three days. They called back in two hours and said they were wrong and that he was now eligible again! We have made copies of everything. If you know someone that was qualified and then not...challenge them! The form letter said you have been disqualified for one of the following reasons and didn't indicate which one specifically. Go figure!

He also was overseas with Marine Intelligence and has had to do it all while dealing with a seriously autistic child. He's a cop's cop.
I believe he's nearing 63 yoa, though.

Not only does NYPD have computerized testing that you get the results immediately, but you can take the test any number of days at various times with no appointment, chat with a recruiter online, train with supervision for the physical tests, and of course you don't have to live in NYC to be NYPD, you can live some neighboring counties. Newark, home of the future Sup,,,not...

You are a huge dumb ass. You couldn't be a pimple on his ass. He's a Marine war veteran, and a cop's cop. One of the few bosses in this department who actually knows what it means to lead.
While the rest cowered and refused to make decisions, he got things done for his people. The entire department should have followed that lead. The training for the street cops will save lives. Other bosses tried to block that. Do you feel good about not getting the benefit of training?
Other bosses blocked the SWAT SMART training which teaches cops to self aid or aid a fellow officer wounded. That will save lives. Roussell pushed it through. That training by Cruz won national awards, but our dumb ass bosses think it's better to deny training and get cops killed. Roussell didn't agree.

He did talk a rather simple and gullible Sgt into taking one of the teams involved. That poor Sgt had a hard time after that but not Roussell who just happened to be the only Tac Supervisor who didn't get launched after Broken Star. Watched a great Lieutenant who was the Tac Lt. at the time get treated like shit by the Dept. but not Roussell. I don't think so- he's heavier that whale shit. Gotta laugh, a new Supe on scene and you fantasize that all the bosses you don't like are being dumped.
Today is Daley's last day and I am happy to see him go. He did make the city look better over the last 22 years but at what cost? Our pension fund is under funded and now it is threatened from being taken away. I know that Wall St compounded the damage but the city should have planned better. The city cannot continue to sell the rights to everything like they did with the skyway and the parking meters. This past week, the TV show the Chicago Code did a great depiction of how the city bosses get their input on promotions and hiring. Now the rest of the country knows how the city got into this debacle. Mayor Daley addressed a recruit graduation back in the 90's by saying that If you do not like this job, quit. There are 36,000 people who took this test and if you do not want this job, there are a lot of other people who do. It is true a lot of people want this job but a leader is suppose to motive and inspire people. Daley did not do this. He hooked up his friends and protected his nephew from a murder charge. Enjoy your retirement Mayor and your pension because we are all in jeapordy of not getting ours. Thanks a lot.
