....some kind of mobile force. A task force. Maybe even a Strike Force! Yeah, that's the ticket! Or a response unit. A response unit that could Target incidents like what happened at the lakefront on Monday. Oh well.

With all those cars from the strike forces and bodies lets bring back summer mobile.
Well they did keep 100 guys from tru and msf, they are called area task force. each area has 20 guys 2 sargents and 1 lt.
There was a reason summer mobile force was called just that.
Summer = Seasonal, lakefront
Mobile = Means of transportation
Force = A group of trained individuals, brought together for a specific purpose
The only thing wrong with it was the way the 'force' was chosen. Otherwise, a fine idea.

Way before strikeforce came to be people were calling for tru to be disbanded. This is just the beginning. Over the course of many years tru stepped up to the plate and were able to move at a moments notice in order to support district manpower. I can remember several times pulling an all night shift to help out the districts. Some of the most recent ones being the blizzard 2011, an officer involved shooting in 6 on newyears and the night officers Valadez, Wortham, and Flisk were murdered those are just some of the more recent ones where I personally was there guarding a crime scene directing traffic etc. Tru was always a support unit unfortunately of the course of several years tru was not being deployed in the fashion in wich it was designed, that was a result of j fled and dana not knowing what the hell was going on. I suggest they reinstate a citywide armed violence suppression unit that can serve the dual purpose that tru used to and ask Cline or Maurer how in the hell to use it.

When EVERY district is properly manned, then we can talk about "response units". After all, isn't that the original intended priority of rapid response cars on the watch? Think about it. Beat cars actually handling ALL radio assignments until a RAP occurs then the rapids get involved with dispatches. This was the original intention. With a fully manned watch, you can have as many as 8 rapid response cars. That's sixteen coppers and at least 9 or 10 bike units (lakefront during the summer), along with the park car and tact teams. You're talking 38-40 coppers right there without the beat cars. If that wasn't enough to handle these roving mobs of animals a special response unit isn't going to be able to do it either. Fuck these saturation teams, and burglary teams, and (sorry GEU) gang teams. Man the districts the way they were intended and these teams/units become useless. And I mean every district, not just the shithole ghettos.
Say what you will about the units, but at least the Strike Force was well trained and able to respond to incidents city wide if needed.
I can't wait for the Fourth of July to get out of hand.

Msf and tru were around 2yrs ago when this started and they were doing it then. You guys are just finding out about it now. The problem here is you combined old timers, guys just off ppo status and phone call babies into 001 and 018 creating an inactive group. Old timers are burned out, the new guys don't know the number to felony review and the phonecalls are too busy looking pretty and trying to get somewhere better. What's needed is a summer mobile to allows guys with 5-10 yrs from the ghetto to come in and push these people out. Hand them a list of mcc's commenly violated, even the smallest things, and a Parker and an anov book and let them create a beautiful summer for themselves because it's only a matter of time before they get tired of court dates, tickets and impounds. Msf/tru would be bouncing around all the time, you need people assigned specifically.

Since the 50's there has always been a unit with strong bosses(Ryans Raiders, Task Force,Special Operations Group, SOS, etc.) to kick some ass and lock up thugs, tow cars, send them to court. Enter the beautiful people from Lakeview,Hyde Park, reverends, race baiters etc. suckled by the Socialist Media to burn these officers and disband the units.
Why don't they start a "Lakeview Flower Power Patrol" of these citizens to reason with the thugs and tell them they feel their pain, and have group hugs, pass out hypos and glass pipes, set up agencies to give them free tattoos and assure them that it is all the "Man's Fault" and their hearts bleed for them.

problem with that is in areas 3,5 they are all in different day off groups. The 2 area teams only work together 2 days a week. So you might only have (maybe) a Lt, 1 Sgt, and on a good day with furlo and cu, 3 cars per area. Areas. 1,2,4 are all in the same day off group 10 hr days still so there are 3 or 4 days a week that there is NO area teams in 1,2,4 ( the worst areas). Area 2 teams were off all weekend. Area 1 and half of area 3 are going to be off for a 4 day weekend this weekend and next and next.

Do the districts need help? ABSOLUTELY!!!! But decentalizing both TRU and MSF was a mistake. There was over 400 people in these two units, could of kept 200 in a combined unit and sent the rest back to the 8 districts as 1700 start rapid cars. Of course the cars in the district will be clearing up the RAPS, but at least there will be immediate back up.
GEU needs to go, the guys/girls I know in this unit are hard workers but they can do that same work in the district as, wait for it, gang teams. The problem now is most of these GEU guys dont even spend time in the districts they came from, they just choose the busiest district and attack their problems.
The other thing Gmack didnt consider was officers in TRU and MSF were assigned to protect the honor students everyday. Yes there is an in flux of officers in the districts but none of them are working days to help address the students.
You need more officers working from 1200-1700, because these thugs will run wild.
Whatever the case, do not attempt to handle these groups of thugs by yourselves, wait for the back up units to arrive. We are not punching bags, if there are a group of 50 fighting, taking police action is satisfied by calling it in and waiting for help to arrive, then deal with it as a group.

Understand that any unit outside patrol is a "support" unit. Your goal should have been to support them and say thank you to those officers for staying and taking all the BS radio calls and writing frivolous reports.

If GMac wants to migrate something from NYC, how about not responding to BS calls or not assigning a detective unless the victim personally shows up and requests one. MSF and TRU didn't do shit anyway. They come in and sit around for an hour, do roll call, work out,oh yeah on company time, go for their 2 hour lunch, sand bag a nickel bagger and their day is done and go fuck off the rest of the night. What about our do nothing SWAT Team? We're the only city in the country that has a swat team as a unit. Other cities have officers all over their city on swat who are activated in certain situations. Not our guys.

The Miami-Dade sheriffs dept. has a full-time SWAT unit, as does LAPD and LA County Sheriff's SEB.
Nashville Metro PD did a study and found out that a full-time SWAT team actually reduces costs to the community they serve in.
Besides, it's about time CPD actually had a SWAT team, not HBT.
Our SWAT guys actually arrive in time to kill badguys.

I believe in the choices of our Commander in Chief G.Mack. Disbanding of TRU and MSF was a great decision from Rahm and G.Mack to mystify the public into thinking there are 500 more on the street. What he failed to understand is when it gets hot all two legged animals go to the lakefront to cool off. Cancel all events in the city Rahm. Thats the answer. Give these people nothing to do this summer. I hope the city burns this summer. I think he just found out how messed up the general public is in Croook County.
