Another day, another person with a gun shot by the police:
- A man was shot after he pointed a gun at a Chicago police officer following a traffic stop near Garfield Park on the West Side late Wednesday afternoon, police said.
One person was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital from the 3700 block of West Washington Boulevard after Fire Department ambulances were dispatched to deal with a person shot, said fire spokesman Richard Rosado.
At about 5:50 p.m., Harrison District officers were on patrol in the vicinity of Washington Boulevard and Hamlin Avenue when a motorist committed a traffic violation, police said.
Officers tried to curb the vehicle which fled the scene. The offender exited the vehicle on the 3700 block of West Washington and pointed a handgun at the officers, according to police.
All officers OK. Good job again.

God bless CPD happy coppers are ok! I can remember when not long ago shots fired by police were misses guess the boys and girls have been practicing to put the animals into a dirt nap! Bravo officers!

This one was in possession of a gun and not a cell phone, not that a cellphone can't hurt you.
You guys ever hear of cellphone guns? Last year the the DOC put out an alert on guns that were being disguised or converted as cell phones.
We use our training as well as information from a nationwide bulletin alerting Law Enforcement about cell phone guns and we second guess this officer?

As usual, this topic won't have a lot of responses. Why? Because, like the citizens of Chicago, we're so accustomed to this happening.

What a fantastic job by the two oficers, and everyone on scene controlling the mob. This could have ended a lot differently and we all thank God that it didn't, thanks to the officers' quick action. This guy was a total shithead and I'm glad his fucking leg is shattered. Now go home boys and get some rest. We'll need you back...gonna be a looooong summer!
Great job CPD, show no mercy. Chicago citizens are being held captive by these animals/urban terrorists with guns. We're counting on you, hit them fast and hit them hard.
From what i saw everything went great and the po's are going to be fine.
A few great union questions though:
How much are we paying Pat Camden? He wasvstanding out there for hours and then at the area and I did not see one qoute from him in any news source. Your FOP funds being pissed away
How much are we paying for retired Ferrell? Again, he was standing out there for hours and then later in the area. D
Had a little note pad in his hand the whole time and at the end of the night it still had the same amount of notes from the beginning none! At no time did any area 4 dets talked to him. He spent the whole time chatting up bosses on scene and catching up on old times.
Do we really need to be pissing away OUR FOP money on giving retired gives some walking around money when they are already collecting about 100,000 in pensions
Positive: No Danny "i will handle all the shootings" Gorman or Saul "i lost the election but got the job anyways" Del Rivero were not there to assist the po's on the shooting. Good help us when they start doing the things that Shields said they were gojng to do when he was running.
Frank D did a great job in running through everything with the officers. Funny part of the whole night was that the campaign promise of all field reps do is ordered pizza is still up and running. Got to laugh when remembering Gorman saying thats all they do and do not protect you in shootings yet he was not there to protect the pi and they are still ordering pizza. No compkaints here though because the pizza was good and then night turned out good for the police

If you are the officer involved you would thank your lucky stars if Farrell showed up on the scene. Go back to doing nothing but watching what everybody is doing and than keep it to yourself. You are an ASSHAT !!!!

Blah Blah Blah.
John Farrell this John Farrell that. The point that the post made was good. How the fuck is the FOP spending OUR money. It does not matter if he never needs to write something on a clip board. If he is not needed, then he is not needed and the money is not wasted. Also, he must not really be 10 times the police officer of anyone if he does not NEED the clip board yet still carries it around.
Also, the term ASSHAT has been used up years ago on the blog so ask the almighty Ferrell what cool term you can use now. Or just look on his clip board he might have it written down for you
