It's Everywhere
A Chicago man was arrested in Wilmette after allegedly breaking a woman’s hand during an attempted purse-snatching.
Wilmette police arrested James Myer, 17, of the 6800 block of South Dorchester, at 2 p.m. Tuesday. He allegedly walked into a business in the 1100 block of Wilmette Avenue and took a woman’s purse, according to a police alert. The woman tried to stop Myer from running away, the alert said, and during a struggle “Myer caused the victim’s hand to fracture.”
A store employee ran after Myer and detained him until police arrived, the alert said.
Two things:
- We didn't realize the Red Line went all the way to Wilmette;
- Those damn Wilmette Police put that suburb on dude!

Its about time the tribune just closes its doors
The CTA runs an Evanston train that has its last stop on Linden Ave which is in Wilmette. The red line ends at Howard which is the begin stop for the Evanston train. So the POS can go from OTth and go all the way to wilmette in a little over Qhr for just 1 fare.
Red line stops at Howard, Purple line (Evanston) goes all the way to Linden Avenue (by Bahai Temple) in Wilmette. I wonder if asshole took a trimming from either the WPD or the citizen that held the offender.
The animal is everywhere, they go to where the money is. Carry a gun off duty.
Federal government's threat to cut federal funding to suburbs may have worked. It gives CHA and other "citizens" a chance to try out the suburb. Suburbanites are in for a ride of their lives. HAHA
"Hello? you are breaking up! I'll call you back! Love you hon (whack)(smacked) hey guys (kicked) ouch (stomped) shit (kicked) what da (slapped) ouch fuck (punched) help help (held down) ahhh what da hell"
Like rats on transcontinental ships the CTA spreads disease every where it goes.
The red line does stops at Howard; however, the purple line is an extension into Evanston and Wilmette.
Wilmette, doesn't anyone remember the guy whose house was being burglarized in middle of the night and he shot the southside felon and was charged with violating anti gun laws ?
The thugs radiate out from the ghetto's to all area's to perpetrate. Been happening a long time
Downtown Rowdiness Spreading North?
At approximately 9:13 p.m., a woman carrying a baby, was pushed down the stairs at a North Side CTA train station.
The incident occurred at the Sheridan Red Line station at 3940 North Sheridan Road, near the Uptown, Lakeview border.
Two black male offenders, purposely pushed the woman and her baby down a flight of stairs, said police. Then the suspects went through her diaper bag looking for money, said officials.

Just heard about this blog from the Huffington Post. I'm a former north suburban Chicagoan (born and raised)now living in suburban Denver. Though this month, I'm moving to a county in Utah that is 85% Mormon. Figure my daughter and I will be safe there (it's a whole lot cheaper, too). If I have to skip the awesome art museums and the Michigan Avenue window shopping and can't even go back to Wilmette, for Pete's sake, without getting mugged, then I'm not coming back for a visit. Love "Second City Cop's" sarcasm and cynicism--make's me homesick. Keep up the great reporting!!!
Wilmette? WTF? I payed through my ass to live up here on the NW side and I can get to Wilmette in ten minutes!! Great...animals do roam I guess!
This is why I carry off-duty, and my wife carries illegally.
the lake is just a few steps away up north.
plop, plop, fizz, fizz
oh what a relief it is
Why aren't Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton or Fr Pfleger out denouncing these crimes?
Do they only get involved when the victims are from a certain community?
Shouldn't ALL CRIME outrage them?
You could hear a pin drop waiting for some response from them. Is it "racist" that they don't seem to want to get involved in all these "black" on "white" crimes but are front and center denouncing "black on black" crime?
They all want their private audience with the new police superintendent to address their own concerns though. So what gives? Not trying to fan the flames but where are these community leaders on this crisis?
Food for thought.
A few more of these incidents, and lets see how the liberals really feel

Wilmette passed an affordable housing plan. That would put the animal right in their back yard so they wouldn't have to take the CTA.
They will learn. The hard way.
We already know what Section 8 can do to a block or a neighborhood.
