Carjacker's Gun Jams, Saving Victim's Life
Two men who were heading home from a Hammond, Ind. casino Saturday are happy to be alive after a carjacker's gun jammed--saving their lives.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that two men were leaving the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind. when four men jumped them on Chicago's Far South Side and ordered them at gunpoint to lie down in the street. After a gunman's hood slipped, revealing his face to one of the victims, he allegedly attempted to fire his weapon at the the men several times, but the gun would not fire.
As one victim, Steve Bader, pleaded for his life, the gunman continually tried to fix his jammed weapon. After realizing the gun was not working, NBC Chicago reports that the gunman fled on foot, and his accomplices took off with Bader's Mercedes Benz E-class sedan and a getaway vehicle.

Do you think that if the stations are closed that those areas will not need police protection? Or do you think that the 400 officers who work in the two districts will be sent somewhere else? The buildings can close, some exempt positions will be cut but the land mass covered will still need to be patrolled. Ok, the maintenance costs will be saved. The house cats in each district will be put in other places, maybe in beat cars, but they aren't house cats for no reason.
Re-shuffling the deck chairs ain't gonna cut it. WE NEED MORE POLICE, NOT MOVED POLICE.

All of the lifeguards at Rain Bow Beach were directed to report to Sherman Park and work the lagoon. The lifeguards at North Ave may be sent to Humboldt Park.

Don't know about you, but I've bought THREE properties this year for a combined total of less than a hundred thousand.
Five years ago, they all sold for near two hundred thousand each.
We're renting them out, will hold them for a few years and will be happy to take at least a three hundred thousand dollar profit down the road. It won't matter if they don't get back to their earlier value; there will be enough bounce to repay us pretty nicely.
Remember the old saying about being handed lemons in life. Make lemonade.
Am I missing something? I remember my grandparents talking about no air conditioning and the only thing that saved them were the Chicago beaches and the pools in the local park.
Of course, they didn't act like animals when they went there though.

If every citizen enjoyed the same protection how many Police Officers would we need, let’s see, we have 2.7 million people in the city of Chicago. Now let’s say on the conservative side that every household consist of 5 people. If we divide 5 into 2.7 million that leaves us with 540,000 households. Assuming that each of these households has a Richie and Maggie let’s see how many police officers we would need to provide the same protection. 540,000 household’s times 2 equal 1,000,080 average taxpaying Richie’s and Maggie’s. 1,000,080 times 3.50 equals 3,500,280 police officers that would be needed to give every household the same protection that Richie and Maggie enjoy with one exception. Remember, the average household can’t steal like their household can steal. So based on these facts Richie you gotta start paying for your police detail, we the taxpayers demand it, I know you can hear me.

We have 2.7 million people. If 1% of these people are wolves that would mean that we have 270,000 wolves preying on our 2,700,000 sheep. If the only thing between the sheep and the wolf is the sheepdog then how many sheepdogs do we need? We currently have 10,500 sheepdogs protecting 2,700,000 sheep. That means that each sheepdog has to protect 257 sheep against 25 wolves. Per capita, we the average sheep, enjoy .004 sheepdogs per sheep as opposed to the royal zookeepers who enjoy 3.50sheepdogs per sheep. Bottom line is this Mr. and Mrs. Sheep. Your Mayor, the royal zookeeper, is throwing you to the wolves. The Chicago Police Department is budgeted for 13,500 Sheepdogs and were are short 3000 sheepdogs. I believe the moral of the story is don’t wander too far from home, and if you do, be prepared to experience a confrontation with the wolf. Don’t bother crying for the sheepdog because he’s got his hands full fighting the other wolves. You try fighting 25 wolves at once and you’d have you hands full too. Rode my bike to the North Ave beach tonight around 1900 and couldn't believe the landscape.
Very crowded and a palpable sense of hostility. Other than the volleyball courts, I counted no more than a few dozen suburbanites. Occupying forces representin' and showing colors, waiting for something to pop off. If tonight was any indication, this thing is gonna get worse before it gets better.

The longer the name the worse the school and it's students. Good school have short names Lane Tech as opposed to
"Metropolitan School of the Bull Sciences, Arts, Culinary Arts, Kitty Litter Golden Academy"
