Wilkowski wasn't coming from a bar. Wilkowski wasn't even headed home, he was going shopping. And we just happened to glance at our phone clock around 7:33 PM Monday and guess what? Broad daylight. In fact, we had enough daylight to hit a 16" softball about three feet over the second baseman for a nice RBI single 15 minutes later (we lost later though).
We also doubt that the oncologist from Seattle and the other doctor from Japan were out fighting at a bar, getting drunk and generally making themselves victims. But we can see exactly why Rahm wants to keep a lid on this story and the potential fallout when word gets back to these doctors' homes that Chicago is a place to avoid.

On June 13-15th there is a convention at the Merchandise Mart with over 40,000 attendees from all over the world, its the biggest convention in Chicago of the summer. While I'm not a police officer, I really think its in Chicago's best interest to conduct a little informational picketing pointing out to these 40,000 visitors that 'you shouldn't walk in dark areas by yourself after having a fight at a bar with a friend and you're going home'

The common sense choice when the downtown parking garages like Grant Park and Millennium Park have had there security phones ripped out is to not go there.

From your own words, I'm going to assume you oppose concealed carry in the state of Illinois, which is quite ironic seeing as we can directly lay these 'wildings' on the doorstep of the victim class your outlook creates. From Seattle to Austin, Atlanta to Minneapolis, 48 of the 50 states- including some with awfully large urban centers- permit honest citizens to defend themselves and aren't having this same problem, to the same degree. You've made the wilding packs of thugs 'feel safe' in Chicago and this is the natural result.

Why Is This Not Considered A Hate Crime ?
The Conn/Roeper show on WLS am890 had this as their topic for most of their show yesterday. They had Pat Camden on and I was impressed that he said what most people in the MSM were refusing to say...the savages were "Black" even though that it did not matter what color of skin they had or what ethnicity they were, Camden boiled it down to having more police on the job to combat this growing threat.
They even spoke about using the POD cameras to speed up police response just like in the UK. That would be nice if they had policemen or retired policemen monitoring those, but they do not. There is a software package called "analytic" that they were thinking of adding to the POD system, but the ACLU filed and received an injunction. It would have allowed the monitors to facial recognize and retrieve criminal records of people on camera and select a person and the camera system would be able to "follow" that person throughout the POD system; switching cameras to stay on his/her tail. UK police then have units nearby to swoop in if the person commits a crime.
People have said it here before "we have the dept that the liberals and ACLU want" so please be safe out there. Don't use the mythical "profiling" standard and get yourself into trouble.

I was at Juvenile court last week and I over heard a probation officer telling another, how these kids are good kids who are committing these savage attacks. I couldn't believe my ears, but this and our court system is what allows these animals to act this way. They get a slap on The wrist and that is it, The court system is so lenient and these animals have no repercussions for their actions. We lost this city, these animals got control.

It's sad when longtime Trib readers have to look elsewhere (including university websites and bloggers like Second City Cop) to find out what really happened and to engage in meaningful give-and-take on what to do about it.

I hate to tell you this but as long as the superintendent is appointed by the mayor (a politician) he himself will be a politician. He is nothing but a hood ornament for the mayor to point a finger at when shit goes wrong. He asks the mayor for permission and funds for everything concerning this department and he does exactly what the mayor tells him to do or he gets replaced. Everyone wanted to blame J-Fled for the department's problems but the guy pulling all the strings and fucking this department up for the last 20 years was Short Shanks. J-Fled was a clueless moron put in place so that Daley had a scapegoat to point at when all his failed policies and gutting of the CPD came to light. J-Fled was all too willing to be that scapegoat for a cool million dollars. The bottom line is that McCarthy is going to have little to do with the direction the CPD takes. Tiny Dancer, Rhambo, or whatever you want to call him is the one calling the shots and he's only going to do what the majority of the voting citizens want him to do. The citizens have been anti-police for years and Daley was all too willing to give them what they wanted for votes. He gutted the manpower of the CPD and demorilzed the officers to quite possibly the point of no return. Now they're getting what they wanted everytime some group of black thugs beats the shit out of them and takes their I-Pod downtown and on the lakefront. One thing is for certain, it's going to take alot of money to fix this deparment, money that I'm not sure we have.

All you need to do is demand respect for themselves, you, and other people. Sometimes life is hard. Too bad. It's like that for everyone. Get over it. If your children are good kids, great! You done good. If your kids are coommitting crimes, the best thing that you can do for them is to turn them in yourselves. Make these young ones into real men and women. It's your job, no one else's. There's more to life than music, sports, and material goods. Look around. The real hero's of society did not have it handed to them. They WORKED for all that they have. Your children need discipline, good values, and good parents. Make decisions for them, if need be. Who is the child and who is the parent? You can do it. Because cops are, for the most part, real Americans who know the deal of what the streets are and that Americans should be able to defend themselves and their families. The policy assholes are appointed by anti-American communist dictator assholes like Daley, Rahm and obama who want a disarmed population to fleece.
I don't know just what, if any, bearing this will have on the issue, but remember that a Mayor may not arbitratily fire a Superintendant that he appointed once the Council approves him, except for cause and action by the Police Board. In other words once confirmed, Emmanuel is stuck with him for better or worse.
Obviously, the doctors were just asking to be attacked. Didn't they know better than to be walking around the Near North Side?

The new City Clerk was offered a police detail, she never asked for a police detail, and does not have a police detail assigned to her at her request. Had she requested one, it would have been assigned to her when she took office. She has always been a very strong supporter of law enforcement and the C.P.D. in particular, check her voting record. She believes that police are needed on the street, not detailed to protect her. Maybe now you can take the tin foil off your head and go back on your medication.
