Mark Brown Calls Out Rahm
As Mayor Rahm Emanuel took another step Wednesday toward the moment he dons a blue police windbreaker, stands on the hood of a CPD squad car and declares “Mission Accomplished” on his campaign promise to put 1,000 more police on the city’s streets, the time has come to take a more active role in correcting him.
Folks, it’s just not true.
At least half the police officers that Emanuel and Police Supt. Garry McCarthy have redeployed since May to help them say they’ve met that goal were already working ON THE STREET fighting crime.
Now where have we read that before? Oh yeah, we wrote it here. And at that time, we were summarizing quite a few irritated and pissed off coppers who saw through Rahm's BS from day one.
So we're up to two columnists who aren't on the Rahm bandwagon? Along with us and our readers? We'll have to move out of our phone booth for the next meeting.

I just hope that he can continue to be an actual reporter and not only find the truth but actually report it.
The truth is out there.
you have John Kass and Mark Brown, that's it!
the "profession" of Journalism is otherwise non-existent in this city
Here's a rumor...CFD to move their HQ into 35th St. to 'consolodate' and save money. City Hall to pick up HR? And you can only guess where the medical section will end up! Do enjoy the war....the peace will be terrible...
uh-oh........Momentum is picking up!!!!!!
True dat!
However, you got to give Mark Brown points for the imagery he created.
Personally, I picture the 9.5 fingered wonder putting on a Patton-like helmet with the Chicago Flag in the background as he gives a rousing speech extolling his own greatness.
Didn't take much to figure out the nummbers don't add up. Rahm & Co just think everyone in this city is stupid and will believe his daily news photo op sessions. Dig a little bit and you will find everything is pure bullshit. Someone should tell the media in this town that the Daley Crime Family has retired and it is all right now to report the true news.
"So we're up to two columnists who aren't on the Rahm bandwagon?"
If the public start reading alternative news sources the official media have no choice except to start telling the truth or they lose all credibility.
Going around the official media is the only way things are going to get better.
So congrats.

I'd like to think this is evidence that Rahm's act is already wearing thin but there are a shitload of sheeple out there who still need convincing.
To the fine columnists who are already on to Rahm I say keep up the good work
Finally people are getting hip to Rahms bullshit. He is Daley lite. Daley hated the police and so does Rahm and he will make the police look like shit untill he neogotiates far more horrible working conditions for the police. If you thought you hated your job now you ain't seen shit yet.
Mark Brown's column calling, out the short one, was on page 4.On page 8 ,Fran Spielman was fawning over Rham adding all these new officers on the street. Go figure.
Glad Mark Brown stepped up.
This guy is right! Check the order. We all laughed when we saw it. Most of the coppers were already on the street on so called "gun teams." The order says they are going back to the districts where they are much needed, but in truth they really aren't. It's a lie. They are staying right where they are. They said they were told the order means nothing. It's just on paper and that's all! More LIES!!! The thing is on this job you get used to the lies over the years. You hear more lies than truth.
I happen to be in the medical section on Wednesday late morning and a boatload of uniformed exempts from CFD did a walk through the office. I don't know why they were there but that could lend to the rumors of them sharing the building.

Well, finally someone IMPLEMENTING an email grand suggestion without having their ego's busted!
New order: Mattresses in lock-up. They are to be cleaned and maintained on a daily basis. HAHAHA!!! Libtards.
Fuck Daley I & Daley II, Fuck Emanuel too !!!!
They all were/are full of fetid dog turds.
We need more journalists who tell the TRUTH, not the bullshit manufactured by the doltrs at Shitty Hall !!
Big deal. A gun hating columnist finally writes a pro patrolman piece. Put him in the same catagory as Mary Mitchell. One pro police piece every 10 years.

Thank you! We are not asking for help, we are begging for it. We are not capable of the safety of the people we are entrusted to protect. The causes of this are many and calculated and nefarious. Please get our story out, we are all dying to tell it!
Just finished watching the kids movie Megamind. There is a scene almost at the end where megamind has a talk with villian he inadvertently created. With the guns n roses song, "welcome to the jungle", blaring in the background, little megamind, explains the difference between being a villian and a super villian, its all about PRESENTATION. Rahmmy, seems to be playing by that same script. Tell and show the sheeple what they want to see and hear, but know its a performance based on perception, instead of reality. The little blue guy in the movie figured it out, dont think our very own little guy wants to. I think PERCEPTION is ok, with him. Mark Brown, Jon Kass, Ben Jovorsky, from the reader, keep providing the REALITY eventually he will have no choice, but to live in it.
What did you expect when this Con-Artist was elected, Honesty? HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA
Mr BROWN, A wholehearted THANK YOU from a very nervous wife of an officer. My husband is a 24 yr veteran and I have never seen him so frustrated. The C.P.D. has always been the politcians whipping boy, but never to the extent they are now. I pray somebody blows the lid on the systemic corruption inherant to this city. He always says, " it's not the bad guys that are killing him, it's the supposed good guys". Please keep up the good work!
Rahm claims he put all these Officers on the street and that crime is down including, homicide's, shootings and aggravated battery, hmmmm I wonder if anyone asked the mother of the boy in 014 who got beat next to death feels that that way or the mother of the boy in 024 who took one to the chest? Now there's a media interview question for the Mom's, "So ho do you feel about the mayor saying crime is down as you watch your son lay helpless in a hospital bed hooked up to machines, do you agree crime is down as the mayor says it is?
Stop lying Rahm!!!!!!
Crime is down, Homicide and Polcie involved shooting in 017 last night, Rahm do you know what the truth is and how to speak it, and if your new leader of CPS is so wonderful and worth every penny your paying him, then why are you sending your kids to private schools again?
If the CFD moves into 35th street, where will the candadates practice on fire fighting?
Hint; they can burn down all those police stations with mold in them and get haz-mat experience also!
Don't confuse his calling the ballerino out with his supporting us!
Twinkle toes drops big fat turds on the media's heads and they don't notice or care.
HELLO MEDIA!!! Just because some politician calls a news conference and announces something, it doesn't make it true!
Where has investigative reporting gone?
In the new age of immediate info the politicians haven't figured out that what they say are lies minutes later as real people on the scenes report the facts.
How about police down 3000 in manpower, no hiring. WTF? and he cut police budget!!!!

OT call the FOP and tell them to fight this wellness plan the city wants to offer. Ultimately it will be a vehicle to force you off the job for medical conditions. This is very bad reasearch it yourselves.

Why wait, leave now ya bitter fuck. I'm no fan of the media, but if something pro police is said, it should acknowledged, as far as I'm concerned. Too many people like YOU complain that the media treats us unfairly, then when something good is written you STILL complain.
FYI I work at 35th street and heard that the other 120 needed to get to 1000 will happen at the begining of next month. The count is at 881 so when he is done with the next move it will be a total of 1006 MORE police.
Rahm his puppet plan on taking the 5 lowest senority P.O.'s from each distrct and by lottery send them to a different district. That will be a total of 125.
Hey most of the other were just shuffled around using smoke & mirrors so why change it now. Beside the sheeple of chicago will believe him anyways.

The Chicago Reader Has Some Good Reporters and Some Good Articles.
You Can Check Them Out On Line.
Rumor has it-10% pay cut to all CPD-No $$$$$$
I don't believe Rahm hates the Police.
I am sure he knows the Police are a important part of city function. Same as Garbage Collection. You have to have it, but if you could cut it down to one man on the truck, it would sure save money. You see the police, and garbage collection do not generate revenue. They are not cost effective. Now give me one good meter maid with a computer generated ticket machine, that's worth something.

close 21 and 13 and that'd be close to 100 back in a beat car on patrol . 60 less tact officers ,desk crew , review , crossing guard supervisor , timekeeper , commander's office staff , caps office .
there ya go garry , see how easy
2 less commanders , 2 less tact lts, 6 less tact sgts , 2 less tact secretary .
Less money spent on maintaining old building stations .
Also less civilians , more money for sworn officers.

This is part of "cleaning the clutter" in the districts. They want to replace every full duty officer working inside, except bidded desk and lockup, with light duty officers.
You know like the handful of full duty P.O.'s that are hiding in every commanders office. The ones that are constantly being shifted from one made up spot to another on the A&A's. This is because they don't have a legitimate spot
but are deathly afraid of hitting the street.
I'm sure there's at least 100+ such officers hidden in the 25 districts.
I sent Mr Brown an email basically saying thanks for taking his head outta his arse and not believing Mr Mysterio and his magical numbers game.

Well, I am sure if you phrased it like that, he'll really appreciate the compliment. Ass.
Even with just 2 columnists bashing the decisions, it has to be pissing Rahm off. From what I've see with Rahm, the blame will be put in Gmacks lap. We all know Gmack is an arrogant know it all who doesn't have a clue about how to fix this department or raise the morale. Gmack is just a big kiss ass who showed us where his loyalty lies with everyone but those under him. He made that well known with his phony speech at Phlegers church.
G-Fraud we don't like you, don't trust you and will never follow you no matter what. Do this city a favor and go back East while you still have a chance of some idiot hiring you to run their department. You sure as hell can't run this one. All your half assed ideas and flip flopping are just making you a bigger enemy to the police, the media and the people of the city. Everyone has seen through your lies and inability to do the job.
You are absolutely wrong regarding police are not revenue generators. Not only the obvious tickets, but offering a safe city brings millions in revenue from tourism , businesses, trade shows etc. That's why Bloomberg is good to the police along with many other cities. Don't sell yourself short
Well it makes sense to consolidate the Fire and Police in the same building, Rename the place the Public Safety building, Why pay all this money in rent, this is going to be a real ego buster for alot of people on both sides but Fuck em, money is tight and just wait until contract time rolls around, there is going to be alot of tears shed.

Why does this guy Rahm lie so much? Does he have the audacity to think we are all that dumb? If you read the comments in the papers, everyone knows he is just shuffling people around and padding the numbers. The lies and arrogance will soon catch up.
All you have to do is look at the transfer orders that come out on fridays and you will see it's a paper shuffle, that's it. How many people left narcotics only to go to an area gang team? It's there in black and white. WE are losing hundreds by retirement yearly and have only hired 50-80 in the past few years.

FOP signed on to the wellness plan first in 2003. It is a good thing for those with serious health issues that can be managed with proper oversight. Every year I see officers who cannot make the walk on the St Jude march due to their hugeness. One 450 pound Sgt looked like he was going to drop after half way,
I have no problem with paying people to help them improve their health. On the other hand, every pension not collected is better for the overall pension system but I would rather see all officers collect their pension. Too many die and never even get their pension money back. Good health is better, hard to argue with that one.

A grievance has been filed by the Lodge over this issue. Members are advised to complete these documents. Members are also advised to add the words UNDER DURESS & THREAT OF DECERTIFICATION after the members name on the application form and the words UNDER DURESS below their signature on the certification form. Please see the examples.
I used to read Mark Brown's column, but it seems as if the Sun-Times (including Mr. Brown) has become the mouthpiece for amnesty for illegal aliens. His recent column praised Crook County for being the ONLY county in the entire nation that does not cooperate with ICE by turning over criminal illegals for deportation proceedings. And, yes, some of the crimes include battery against police officers. I glad you find Mr. Brown's piece such a glimmer of sunshine.
