ABC Media Slant

  • A Chicago police officer allegedly turned a $132 speeding ticket into a pick-up opportunity when he later tracked down the female driver and asked her out, saying the least he could do for the money he cost her was to treat her to dinner, according to a lawsuit the woman filed in federal court.

Damn those Chicago cops!

Except it was a Stickney cop as the allegedly out-of-control Romeo. But as we've seen in most of ABC's reporting, as long as the cops look bad, it doesn't seem to matter which ones get the blame (right Chuck Goudie?)

UPDATE: Seems some other people took the reporter to task. She has since amended her posting without saying so to read "A suburban Chicago police officer..."

Speaking of Romeos, what's the status of the 023rd district first watch Tag Team Lotharios???

Things went awfully quiet, awfully quick on that whole shindig. Is their clout keeping wraps on the whole situation?

Come to think of it, there's a handful of other coppers that fucked up, made the news and then fell off the face of the Earth.

Things that make ya go Hhhmmmmm???

this story was all over WGN and the Score as truly reported, a Stickney officer!!! Why the hell do they continue to let Chicago trash reporters lie? This reporter knew it was Stickney and chose to lie to get more outrage.

The media has been doing this since the witch hunt began after the Abatte incident. SunTimes headline a few yrs back read A suburban Chicago police seargant accused of murdering third wife.

Small s on suburban, to lessen it, C in Chicago always has to be capitalized, small p for police since its not CPD, but you still have in the center of the page Chicago police.

Don't talk to the media period.

Judge should be laughing this one out of court. Why the hell did she file suit instead of, oh, I dunno, CALLING HIS BOSS AND COMPLAINING.

Shit, if a clerk hit on you at Macy's, would you file a federal suit? Hell no, you'd either go to the management office and complain or you'd call their corporate and complain. Why the fuck is this a lawsuit?

How many people in this country know where Stickney is located. This was not a simple mistake by this reporter. Everyone knows where Chicago is so it makes for better news to use Chicago instead of Stickney. ABC sucks.

Another graduate of the prestigious media and communications clown college. Anyone with more than 2 braincells gets their information from blogs, Drudge Report, etc. Broadcast TV is a total fraud run and funded by multinational corporate entities that filter everything they report and push stories and editorials that serve their purpose. Even that so-called correction of "suburban Chicago police officer" is completely incorrect- it should read "a Stickney police officer". That doesn't sound as scandalous of course, so she has to squeeze "Chicago" in there somewhere. The editor should be fired for allowing such a misleading half-truth to be printed/aired.

Why don't these media stations hire local people who know the area?

You can tell the 'Tards when they mis-pronounce words or don't have a clue when someone talks about being down in the Loop.

With all the "news" stories, (especially on channel seven), that start out about Police doing something wrong, than towards the end of the STORY, they might mention that a lawsuit is being filed. All they are doing is working a case for the ambulance chasing, scumbag, bottom feeding lawyers. I often wonder what their cut is?
