Thank You From Minnesota
Yesterday, we laid to rest a Lake City, MN Officer that was killed in the line of duty. We had a great turnout of Officers to show their support and pay their respects. I saw at least 2 Chicago PD Officers there. I am a Minneapolis Police Sergeant and a member of the MN Law Enforcement Memorial Assoc. Honor Guard, a statewide honor guard comprised of Officers from various MN Law Enforcement agencies. I wasn't able to personally thank the Chicago Officers or get their names, but I wanted to say thank you to whomever they are. I was hoping you might pass on my appreciation for their support. We were impressed to see them there. This death was very hard on the small town and it's 12 man department. I know that the family and Dept. were very appreciative of the show of support. Thanks again and stay safe,
Chris H
Thank you Sergeant. Our condolences.

This has Brotherhood for the Fallen written all over it. Keep up the good work fellas one of the few bright spots left on this job...
RIP officer, prayers to family and friends.
First off sorry for the lost of ur fellow officer. G_D bless his family and friends and may he be welcomed into the Kingdom of G_D with open arms. Secondly those CPD officers were probably members of the Brotherhood of the Fallen, they are an organization made up of CPD officers who travel across the country and attend the funerals of officers lost in the line of duty. Very classy organization.
May god bless the officer, his family and his fellow officers.
Dear sgt Chris,

Thank you Minnesota, you have helped "us" out before.
I have been sick for the last few years and had to go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester 4 times in the last year.
There is a thing called the Police Benevolent etc. run by Mn. Police.
I asked FOP about it (Jimmy Baeily) and he put me in touch with an Ofc. from Rochester.
I was able to stay in a dorm room type place for free, as long as I needed(years if so).
The costs of my illness have added up and this was a wonderful help.
They understand what a brotherhood is, and so do we. What they do, on their own, is more than any copper can ask for.
Same team blue. We take care of our own. I can't thank you enough, Beatle, Rochester PD and Mayo.
Dave Evans, CPD.
Oh man, I didn't even hear of this. Anyone have the story? What a shame. Big city or little city, it's WAR on cops lately.
Brotherhood For The Fallenis a non-for-profit organization of Chicago Police Officers of various ranks, comitted to attending the services of officers killed around the country by an offender and to give support to the Family, their police department and their community.

Can anyone provide details, information or contacts about the Brotherhood of the Fallen? I believe I bought a shirt or a raffle ticket from somebody with that name and the purpose was to travel to these funerals. I would like to get involved but do not know anything or anyone at my district who has any information. I would be honored to take my time and go to these funerals. The older I get, the longer I have been on, the mores sense it makes to me. Thank you to anyone who can provide information.
Thats nice to hear.
But you know what was weird, at the fop they threw a mourning bunting for PO Lewis over their wrought iron fence. It looked terrible guys.
Chris,
Your 'family' on the Chicago Police Department likewise mourns the loss of our brother Shawn Schneider of Lake City MN Police Dept.
"When a police officer is killed, it's not an agency that loses an officer, it's an entire nation."
He will remain in our thoughts and prayers.
Rest in Peace Brother.
On behalf of all my Chicago associates.
RC and MM from 010 first watch. Two great guys, and great cops. Keep up the good work guys.

I'm former CPD and reside in MN now. I attended the funeral and saw first hand how Chicago's attendance not only was appreciated by other LEO's but also by the family. It's truly a great thing that the Brotherhood of the Fallen is doing but I wouldn't expect anything else from CPD. Seeing a big city department take time to show condolences for a fellow officers helped immensely for these folks. It made me very proud.
I have ridden and drove all over this country. I have received noting but polite and courteous treatment from police officers wherever I go.
The least we can do is to make an attempt to attend services of fallen colleagues when possible.
I was stopped by a Kentucky State Police Officer who gave me a pass after he had a gander at my "credentials." He was a poster guy for a well dressed and well groomed officer. I was thinking about how we complain about things here and this Kentucky officer very likely has a salary that is smaller than my pension. I don't have much to complain about if you look at it that way.
Kindest regards brothers & sisters of law enforcement everywhere.
I commend to you to the Officer Down Memorial Page (www.odmp.com) which offers up-to-date information on police officers nation-wide who died doing the job we have chosen to do.
