No Bail
Bail was denied today for two Chicago men charged in connection with the slaying of an off-duty Chicago police officer.
Clifton Lewis, 41, an eight-year police veteran, was fatally shot during a Dec. 29 robbery at a West Side convenience store.
Tyrone Clay, 29, and Edgardo Colon, 34, both of Chicago, were charged early Saturday with murder while in commission of an armed robbery and first-degree murder of a peace officer, said Cook County state's attorney spokeswoman...

His Momma say she is sympathetic to the officer's family, but Ty is innocent because he was at his Momma house, uh-huh. He didn't do it. You'll see.

I'm glad these two monsters have neen removed from the streets. They should have never been out in the first place. The system has to change. If we can't afford house them, then bring back the death penalty.

Daughter Of NIU Police Chief Faces Drug Charges
The DeKalb Chronicle reports: Jessica Grady of DeKalb, the 40-year-old daughter of Northern Illinois University Police Chief Donald Grady, is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana after she and a DeKalb man were arrested during the execution of a search warrant Thursday that resulted in police finding 18 grams of "suspected crack cocaine," 32 grams of marijuana and $1,400 in cash.

"PHOENIX (AP) — A sheriff's deputy was shot and killed while answering a burglary call in the north Phoenix community of Anthem early Sunday, and other deputies shot the suspect, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said.
Deputy William Coleman, 50, and his partner found a suspect in a van with a pit bull dog at a medical building at about 4 a.m., Arpaio said.
The man got out of the van and opened fire with a rifle....
Last year was one of the deadliest in recent history for law enforcement officers, with 173 killed in the line of duty as of Dec. 28, a 13 percent increase from 2010, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. Of those, 68 federal, state and local officers were killed by gunfire in 2011, a 15 percent jump from the year before.
"There seems to be a war on cops across the nation, and here in Arizona," Arpaio said Sunday.
They should all be released immediately. After all, there's no death penalty (inside).

From what I'm hearing, as well as the way the newspaper reports indicate, the actual shooter is still not in custody. They have the driver of the car and the mutt whoent into the store but the shooter and Tec-9 is still out there. True? If so, every cops need to know that, who he is, what he looks like; and the hunt should never stop.
