But then what's with sudden uptick in "neighborhood alerts" we've seen recently?
- At least six daytime burglaries in the Jefferson Park area since Dec. 1 have been tied to the same suspect, police said today in a community alert.
The suspect usually enters a large condominium complex and once inside breaks into individual units with a large pry tool, police said. He then takes cash, jewelry and small electronics.

At least 16 strongarm robberies are being linked to robber. He usually approaches victims from behind and robs them of purses, money and cell phones, police said.
Isn't this supposed to be the "quiet" parts of town? How can so many crimes be happening in these nice neighborhoods? Are the police shorthanded? Are resources being moved to 007 and 011 to the detriment of these formerly peaceful parts of town?

I'll give 016 kudos on this though, I saw a M/1 looking into cars in a lot near the Harlem L. I called 911, followed him and watched him go into Wendy's. 3 cars, including a tac car there within 2 minutes and took the guy.

An attempted Armed Robbery in Edgebrook last week with the same M.O. Woman walking from the train approached from behind, put gun to vitim's head, but she fought for her purse and knocked him down. Described as M/W, 5-06 wearing black ski mask and black outfit, armed with small back handgun.
No suprise here...after moving available police resources out of the supposed quiet districts to add manpower to the high crime districts and not hiring any police to replace them the criminals are moving in to fill the void by coming into the districts where the police are short handed and then rip off the taxpaying victims and then return to their high crime neighborhoods and sell their stolen loot..........
and then return back to police deleted districts and start over again.........they're no dumbies....the politicans and police brass are the fools and the taxpaying citizens are the victims.

I work in 011 on midnights and let me tell you there is enough officer to work the streets. Both early and late start roll call is packed with officers. to the point of not everyone has a seat. We have also made up cars to fit all the people on the street. The sad thing is the district I live in is lucky to have 10 cars on midnight. It's so good to know that the all my tax money is going to police the shitheads of the city.
I will have to also thank the city for allowing these shithead to treat us like shit, hit us, shoot at us and etc. Thank you for making are jobs harder and harder everyday. How about just letting us be the police and take control of the streets you want us to protect.
The 16th district is under attack! The home area where many police and fire live can't get any protection from the leeches that come in and feed off our homes. I definitely feel better about myself then. I had a bad dream the other night and my poor wife woke up to hearing me pop in a magazine and rack a round before I did a premise check.

I this story was covered by WBBM Radio today -- the reported, whose last name I believe was Krauser, took a real rip, saying something on the order of "police descriptions provided are so vague as to be useless, just some guy in a coat or hoodie."
Uh...anyone got a copy of the bulletin? If victims' descriptions -- obviously the source of the "police descriptions" -- included anything about the assailant's race, well...

Um did you miss the news a few weeks back? The Sun Times new ownership group consists of several of Rahm's friends. You think they'll ever be critical of Rahm? Expect much more of this in the future.

These robberies were happening for the last two years at least, during Mayor Stuttering Midget's (JFled's) term. I won't give much credit to Rahm, but at least crime stories aren't being completely covered up.
