I love it. Many of the brass laugh about the silly COMCAST meetings. It has been a joke for a long time and no one takes it seriously anymore. Whoever made the BING up is good.

A detention hall full of high schoolers would be a smarter and more engaged audience.

A " bvackground check" for court personnel is nothing more then a fingerprint run and an application ( and a call to your sponsor). No one actually goes out and interviews neighbors, former employers, friends etc. It is pretty easy for any person with gang ties who has not had felony arrests to slip by.

Nasty wet snow hitting up north of us right now -- and to the south, a long squall line of "killer tornadoes" sweeping along now, from where they just got hit downstate to far into the southern states.
Our prayers go out to everyone -- tornado season starting up again and it's a bad one. Saw one spot on the weather charts where you had 35-degree air hitting 83-degree air -- it's a bomb where they meet.
Tom Skilling on Channel 9 mentions again that everyone should have a weather alert radio. They are inexpensive and can save lives.
In Harrisburg, Ill. where they got flattened, they had maybe 15 minutes' warning -- but the storm was moving in at 60 to 70 MPH! You need every second you can get.
That also hit at 5 AM, still dark and lots of people sleeping. That radio will wake you up if need be.

If your kid qualified for admission he/she could get a scholarship too.
In honor of the Chicago Fire Department’s and Chicago Police Officers’ service to the University community and the city, the University of Chicago offers full-tuition scholarships to select children of active Chicago firefighters and police officers. To be considered for a full-tuition scholarship, candidates must qualify for admission to the University of Chicago and be the legal children of currently active, sworn Chicago Fire Fighters and Chicago Police Officers who will remain active for the duration of their children’s college careers. Each winner is guaranteed full tuition for four years of undergraduate studies (12 academic quarters) provided he or she makes satisfactory academic progress.
OT: Regarding G8/NATO, regardless of what watch eventually gets shipped downtown, there are multiple POs and SGTs who have turtle gear but are no longer considered Tier I officers (former tact, MSF, TRU). Will we just be in standard uniform and assume we won't be deployed to any frontline that requires the extra protection?? Will we have an option? Anyone know?

Um, isn't that illegal to use lights/sirens if you're not responding to a real emergency? I don't think lights/sirens intended use was to get somewhere faster for personal benefit.....just sayin'. Sounds like a ticketable offense to me.

scandal. Having said that, Tobias would have been

Yes; Ruiz to 004 & Hector Rodriguez to 005. Alexander & Tobias will be street deputies after G8. Boehmer to Detective Div. as well as Green from 15. Calloway to VCD.

His ruling will be appealed further up the chain in the state courts. It's not over - don't worry.

This matter is also in the federal courts and awaiting a decision . Lisa madigan is in favor of keeping the current overhear laws. I think she wants to protect her daddy.

Yes, in some cases the parents just do not do a good job. But, for many other parents, they work long hours to put bread on the table in this very tough economy. What idiot speeds past schools during the day? It sure is not the parents.

I'll try. I found a sensible size 26 dress and a flowing size 8 wig from Real Big & Real Tall's Fridgerator Perry-Shaq O'Neal Collection, but finding size 16 pumps has proven to be damn well near-impossible!
