Once again, McCarthy's crime reduction program is bearing fruit. Unfortunately, the fruit is covered in blood during a single Wednesday afternoon/evenng:
Five men in their 20s and a teen were shot in three separate incidents Wednesday afternoon on the city’s South and West Sides, according to police.
Two men in their 20s were shot while sitting on a porch in the West Garfield Park neighborhood about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
[...] Earlier in the day, three people were shot on the 300 block of West 60th Street in the Englewood neighborhood about 4:45 p.m., police said.
[...] Just before 3 p.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in the wrist on the 5000 block of S. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.
And how's that consolidation of the detective division coming along?
- Nobody is in custody for any of the shootings and detectives are investigating.
The media might as well make that last sentence into a typeset of solid stone and put it at the bottom of every aggravated battery article. They can run corrections later if necessary.

The new 21st district is becoming busy for some reason something is going on.
Hey! Watch the use of those outlawed words! Aggravated Battery? No longer acceptable! "Shootings" or "lead based physical injury" Only! Big Brother (little finger) will not be pleased. Future failure to adhere to the new language will be double plus disciplined!
The first week of the detective consolidation into the three remaining areas is as expected utter chaos. The city contracted civilian movers to shuttle file cabinets containing investigative files and assorted office equipment from the old to the new areas of assignment. Saw a truck from BIG "O" Movers at Area 1 yesterday... how appropriate. Sounds like McNumbnuts started his own company!
Is there any truth that the FBI wrote a very negative report about the police in Chicago. Not the department, but the police officers? And that is why the G8 was cancelled?
Aggravated Battery? I think you mean "shooting".

The detectives in Area 1 are taking about 20 minutes to arrive at 010 shootings if they leave from the office during any high traffic times (and that's using the lights and siren).
News Flash to dean Andrews and all the other bosses in the D unit... You Fucked Up! Witnesses don't wait around for detectives to arrive and patrol doesnt "detain" anymore.
No witnesses mean no one is getting charged.
Expect to see the clearance rate DROP!!!!
it seems that the powers that be want to take the lowest preforming officer on the watch and have them present at the Comp stat meeting to answer for their performance in the district. Can someone say witch hunt! hostile work environment.....f^&k this department

Subject: Getting rid of this Goof
If you want to get rid of this goof and who doesn't stop being afraid of him. He can't get rid of all of us.
He is a bully and bullies operate by creating a climate of fear whether it is in a schoolyard or in a Compstat meeting.
If he can't make us afraid, and he becomes aware that the politicians, Rahm included are ready to send him packing and replace him with one of our own then we can get rid of this goof sooner than later.
If he yells at you, do not cringe, you are all experienced police officers. REMAIN CALM and look back at him as an experienced cop would any other screaming drunk in an alley. Do not yell back, talk in a soft professional voice. If he continues to yell, talk softer and make him strain to hear you, never try to out yell a fool. Make him strain to hear you.
Department wide and in all situations, from meetings to if he stumbles onto crimes scenes or if he is a guest speaker somewhere never applaud or show this guy any fear and no more than minimal respect.
If you get on an elevator with him and other people act like he just farted. If alone with him fart yourself.
Never call him, "Mr. Superintendent", save that for someone who earned the esteem of that title like Phil Cline or Terry Hilliard. You can call him Mr. McCarthy.
As it gets around that the bully act doesn't work he will be seen as having lost any effectiveness as a "leader" because he has done about all the hatchet work he can do on the department and the latest round or "Command Changes" has yet to settle in. Anyone with a contact with an Alderman, exempt rank or not needs to start leaning on them to get rid of this goof.
If McGoof does a rant on anyone he should get a phone call from one or more Aldermen that should go something like this:
W-T-F you yelling at my friend (so & so) for! Don't you ever do that! Are you ready to leave town ‘cause me and my colleagues are ready to vote your ass off the island. The mayor owes ME favors and in fact I'd like to see someone I know in that spot. ,
Stay Safe, join the K.M.A. Club. We need to get rid of Rahm, McGoof and start rebuilding this Department.

The Gangtas read the papers and watch the news. They know how short we are on manpower and are just doing their thang. I can hardly wait for summer.
Wednesday afternoon, I drove out to the ISRA range in Kankakee for a little target practice - apparently I could have saved a bunch of time and gas and just driven to Englewood.
Plain and simple : Compstat doesn't work. And guess what? Jersy Shore is so upset about the increase in crime and failure of compstat, that time due is going to be limited if or all but taken away on the weekends. Buckle up kids, this guy is a joke and doesnt care if you have a family you want to see on the weekend. His family has headed back to New York because of his antics and games with the good lieutenant M.B. So NO TIME DUE FOR YOU!
According to my notifications at least 20 plus people shot in the last 48 hours. This doesn't include all the police shootings.
Can't wait till summer when the blood really starts flowing around here.

More like an hour, 20 minutes if they had a helicopter. Get used to it, its only going to get worse.
Took 2 hrs for a det. from ANorth to come to 11, give my juv.offender a crt date, get signature from momma then leave total time approx 5 mins. What did I learn? I'm never locking a juvenile up again, unless I need some O.T.!
