J-Fled Resigns?
- Former Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis has resigned as president of the Chicago Crime Commission effective today, officials said.
Weis is leaving to pursue interests outside of the scope of the Chicago Crime Commission including teaching, research, and private industry, officials said in a press release.
“I feel extremely fortunate to have been a part of such a terrific organization and learn first-hand the role non-profit organizations can play in support of the men and women on the front lines keeping our city safe. It has been an honor and a pleasure to have served the Chicago Crime Commission, its devoted membership, and the City of Chicago." Weis said in a statement.
J-Fled's last month has been kind of eventful. First, he denied that the maniac latin disciples had successfully hidden gang symbols to the upcoming city sticker, then hastily backtracked when numerous gang experts contradicted him. Then he ruffled some political feathers by pointing out that a clout heavy gang leader was handling all sort of sensitive court documents working for the Cook County Clerk's office.
Was he told to leave before he dug too deep? Or too close to certain untouchables?

If the G-man was told to leave, he'll leave. Because they have fidelity, bravery and integrity...until it comes time to face Chicago political gangsters.
I resigned from the Chicago Crime Commission yesterday to take a job at Pat's Cheesesteaks in South Philly. During the summer, I will be selling salt water taffy on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. I'm going to really miss you guys. Stop by and say hello. 5% discount to CPD.
GOTTA RUN!
Resigned? I just don't see it. Maybe I will after I examine this article on my iPad rather than this damn BlackBerry.
Maybe the answer isn't some giant conspiracy theory.
Maybe the guy got what he wanted - another notch in his belt for his resume. Now, he's taking his resume (and the cats) and moving on.
Is the condo for sale, or are we still going to have to see him on our news, giving pointless press conferences ad infinitum?
The other chicago rag had a similar story but stated that he left to spend more time with the wife before he looks for another job leading me to believe he was told to leave. Doubt he would leave on his own without any job line up.
You can all thank me, anonymous. Tiny Dancer was reading an earlier SCC blog and scoped out the line where I stated I'd happily give up two days to the city if someone could direct the chicken, scaredy-cat Weis to the nearest city exit ramp. What can I say? He called me on my shit.
Something is not kosher with his immediate departure, did Jody stumble upon real political dirt while at the Chicago Crime Commission?
Or did the board of the crime commission finally learn that he broke the law when he threw Cozzi under the bus? It might be kinda embarrassing to have a criminal working for the crime commission.
What politician did Jody find dirty? I hope that he passes everything onto the appropriate channels.
Something is very strange with this "forced" immediate resignation with no gig lined up. He was forced out, but by who and why?
If he planned on leaving he would have announced where to and for what better offer he was headed to.
My sources tell me that he's bailing because his cats health is failing.
There's a "Pussy" joke in here somewhere, only I'm too tired to dredge it out.
Check out the DVD movie "J. Edgar" as played by actor Leonardo DiCaprio. If possible, Hoover was a bigger pussy than J-Fled. Between his backstabbing and blackmail, he'd spend hours shopping for his secret wardrobe at Victoria's Secret--not that there's anything wrong with that.
I would opt for taking Jody back as Superintendent over Gary anyday!
Florida side is calling you J-fed! Time to back your bags and your Harley.
Hopefully he'll do the right thing and turn over everything to his former employers.. everything he may have come across in his travels through the Chicago landscape since he's been out of CPD... Hmmm ?? ... Me thinks he's headed off to "disclose" new info
to our Feds over the County bs mess going on.. I'm just sayin Never know
How corrupt is Chicago, if a former SAIC can be relieved as head of a nongovernmental entity at the drop of a hat, makes you wonder!
Who is his placement, JR Harris?
Don't forget to take your "gear" with you, you slimy rat cocksucker.
What is the real story here? Any correlation to the loss of the G8?
How much has this mellon-headed idiot made? Jfraud, just leave.
Suckholes like Weiss always land on their feet with a good job somewhere. He knows how to obey his masters and keep his mouth shut.
Sounds like he was letting "too many cats out of the local bag". That's a No-No in Shitcago !!!!!!!!!
If gang connections or mob connections drove Jody out we are in real big trouble in Chicago. I know that some would disagree but that is fucked up and really scary. You may not like Jody but criminal organizations dictating the leadership of law enforcement entities is beyond comprehension.
There's a great story behind this. Anybody know what it is?
An abrupt resignation without any indication equates to being shown the door.
Where is Rahm in all of this? Hiding out in NYC again?
Hopefully this will spur US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald into action! The corruption must stop!
Chicago politics never ceases to amaze me!
Looks like he finally got an offer on his condo.
Rumor has it that he's got a new gig lined up already... replacing the Geico Caveman.
Jody,Is now the Doorman at the Bijou Theatre.
Let's just wish this fish-out-of water well in his
future endeavors...whatever they are, wherever
they take him, as long as he gets far, far away
from the mess he left with the CPD. One thing
we all know for sure, Jody won't ever have to
worry about fielding offers to take over the helm
of any other metropolitan PD.
Hmmmm...
Might this have something to do with the feebs calling bullshit - corner pocket on Burning Tutu & McWhiskeyshits and relocating G8 to Camp David?
Nothing like seeing someone so deserving being deeply dog-farted by fate while tied securely to the crookedly spinning wheel of karma.
Hiya j-fled!
Is that unsellable condo still whoopin' yo' ass?
Heh... There's always Craigslist! XD XD
Here's to that muthafuckah eating every nickel of misappropriated funds formerly called your CPD salary.
Gump... Go friend yourself on Fuckbook or something.
J-FLED is a manly man who does manly things in manly ways.
Meow...
GMac out, Jody backin?
I would take Jody in a NYC second over GMac, no pun intended.
Why did Weis resign?
That is the question.
Ask any current exempt who was a better Superintendent, JFed or Gary.
Maybe he got sick of all the pandering and corruption here?
I hope he is made Director of the FBI and Patrick Fitzgerald is made the US Attorney when the Republicans take back the Whitehouse in November.
Can you imagine the payback that will come? They have both seen the corruption firsthand but will have the power to arrest and indict instead of stomaching it.
Who is JR Harris and what makes him qualified? Who is he beholden to?
There is much more to this story!
What triggered this sudden event?
Has his condo sold? Will he stay local or relocate? This will tell all.
Hopefully this carpetbagger hops the first freight train out of town.

Criminal Mobs, Gangs and Organized Crime have driven Chicago politics
since Mayor Ogden.
They put money and votes into politicians campaign coffers and work precincts and polls.
In some cases, in present day you can trace the gang heritage of some of our aldermen and other political leaders. As they rise from the street level their gang involvement get pushed further into the background. It is usually their second and third generation politicians that try to push beyond local offices. The real difference between a street gang and organized crime is that organized crime tries to get political protection.
Street gangs can and do influence politicians in this town because they can funnel money and votes to the politicians as well as blackmail and threaten. So how many cops reading this even realize that 20 March is Primary Election Day and early voting is in progress? Does it matter? It matters when people like Rahm think that only 23% of Chicago Cops vote and they don't vote for me so screw them.
Stay Safe. Screw Rahm, Vote.
It's amazing, Cops complain about cars, manpower shortages, riot gear/training, ammo problems, etc etc. And these ARE legitimate complaints and problems. Once a little over a year ago, I sat in on a meeting with our OWN homeland security team. The stuff that WE as lower level Cops deal with is nothing compared to the real problems handled behind closed doors. The Mayors office, Gary Schenkels office, Ray Hamiltons office, and Jody's office...all handled far bigger problems!

Fuck P.F., he has had years to go after the Daley Crime Family. Do you think he will suddenly grow a set of balls now? No U.S. Attorney will do that until we get a Republican President who gives the order to divert resources and get Daley.
The evidence is out there, they have to go a tediously interview lots of people who work for the city, for Alderman, for contractors, for LAZ and say, "We're from the Government and we are here to help you."
Just a reminder to whistle blowers, there are hefty $$$ rewards especially if federal government funds or back taxes are recovered.
P.S. Am I wrong but isn't he the one who let the Cozzi case proceed. If so, double fuck him.

Screw both of you for comparing two very bad choices and thinking that either one of them could be good for the massive rebuilding in all respects needed for this department.
We haven't had a really good Superintendent since James Rochford and I'd follow him again.
First we need to get rid of Rahm and BHO, because they will continue to tear this department down.
If gang connections or mob connections drove Jody out we are in real big trouble in Chicago. I know that some would disagree but that is fucked up and really scary. You may not like Jody but criminal organizations dictating the leadership of law enforcement entities is beyond comprehension.
Dude! Its been like that since the birth of Chicago! Where have you been?
If the feeb wants to score a million bucks from CPD, all he has to do is write a "tell all" book. I'd even read his whining about being misunderstood to get to the gritty parts.
Someone posted on Shaved that he is headed to the County. It that is true how bad did they embezzle those tens of millions of federal homeland security dollars?
When is Todd and company getting indicted?
Federal oversight is needed in this corrupt cesspool. Look at you're tax bills and tell me otherwise.
Rahm wants a world class city, start by cleaning up the corruption and the bilking of the taxpayers. Restore integrity to the political process and bring back industry. Chicago will flourish and people will flock here, otherwise continue on the path to oblivion and Detroit II.
There's a great story behind this. Anybody know what it is?

He was given that job for being a being a corrupt team player and keeping his mouth shut. But he wasnt put there to make any waves. He embarassed 9.5 with the City Sticker fiasco and the county by posting one of their high ranking gang banging employees in his book. Here you have JFled a former FBI rat and not one Illinois Politician is afraid of him,as Beaver would tell him "fuck you Jody Boy". Lets see he could get a military veteran and good officer indicted for a mistake who had paid for his crime.ButJFLED has worked for several government agencies and could not point his federal buddies onto at least one crooked politician. FINALLY, ADIOS JFLED, motherfucker!
A lot of people are making assumptions that Weiss was driven out of his job and possibly out of town. A litle premature aren't we? Let wait and see where he lands. The head of the Chicago Crime Commission is not a powerful job that pays a lot of cash and has a very small staff. There is a lot of turnouver in that office.

Do you mean, the criminal so-called "reverends" who influence who gets promoted and what laws get enforced in Chicago?
Don't be surprised if Jody replaces G-MAC!
Florida side is calling you J-fed! Time to back your bags and your Harley.
The bike or Shankier? I avoid driving through Lyons, just to make sure I don't even have a chance to see Harley...
Hopefully this fucker leaves town!
Why do I have to work for one of jfleds arrogant boss friends still?
Hey Mr Mayor, can you purge cpd of Weisels buddies already?????
And why do we need a commander of investigations in IAD? We already have our own cpd people in form of sgts lts a dc and a chief. Send Klimas packing.....
We the officers of 019 officially nominate Xo mikey, the self proclaimed only cop in the building to have ever been the police, for head of the crime commission.
Please go!
The wagon can drop you off at their office on the way back from one of their multitude of prisoner runs to the lockup.
They'll even turn on the heat for you so your comfy.
And at that job you will not have to wear the uniform which you hate to wear.
Good things come in threes right?
Whoever thinks the Ambiguously Gay Duo as played by J-Fled and P-Fitz will clean up this town must be high. Fitzgerald is in the bag for the Chicago Machine. Why else would he call off every investigation before he gets a big fish? If he gets something on Rahm, it will get dumped on some poor criminal sap like Blago. This town is beyond hope. FMC
I am guessing he got what he wanted by being police super and what he wanted by being on the crime commission and is now moving on to something else. I would expect one of the things to be a book. I wonder if he will tell the truth about how he came to get the super job in the first place. Will he admit that it was something the city was forced into by USDOJ?
Rahm and McShitfaced are finally tired of all his second guessing. Rahm had him fired....again.If you had not noticed everytime that the above politicians layed low after a huge embarrassment, the Fran and Frank fluff Corps went to see what the coward J-Fled had to say. Unethical J-Fled finally did one press conference too many.
good riddance to possum head once and for all--- please get out of town as soon as possible--- what he did to william cozzi was one of the most treacherous acts I have ever witnessed a department member commit against another officer--- the devil has reserved a special suite in hell for this back stabbing cowardly embarrasment of a law enforcement officer--- the chicago police department is playing the FBI in a hockey charity game tonight in bensenville at the edge ice arena--- it is to benefit the honor flight program for ww2 vets--- I wish possum head played hockey because the coppers would suit up 60 guys so many would love to take a run at him--- 20 long strides from one end of the ice to the other followed by a flying elbow right to the beak of that massive melon head--- ahhhh, that felt good....

You are a child. Have you not been keeping up? We have gang member aldermen, governors in prison, mayor's son and nephews stealing and killing in the streets, gang members holding meetings that politicians show up to and ask for help winning elections, gang members masquerading as preachers and marching with a corrupt catholic "priest" and you think it's beyond comprehension that there is control of law enforcement? You are their lap dog. That is your role.
Maybe he a acting as an informant and found what intel to pass along to US Attorney office.
Here's a thought...
Maybe he and Beatrice V. O'Donnell have started their own consulting company.
Now take Masters and his bitch Ray Ray with you.
JRDavis has been the Chairman of the Crime Commission for years. He's a civilian in the banking industry and was the CCs major funding source. He brought Weis in because the feds told him to because their buddy needed a job.
Davis' credibility is now zip. The CC is dead. Just as the Outfit wants it.
He found a job in New Orleans..
They are going to use his head in a Mardi Gras float!
How many vacation days did he take them for?
Guys, I really want to tell you the story but,,,, I gotta run!
Ha! Finally it caught up to him. The Chicago Crime Commission figured out that J-Fled really does suck, clueless as ever and we were not kidding. Go cry back to the F B I...
the guy was pretty slick, built one hell of a resume
Incompetence has never been a hindrance to high political office here in Chicagostan. . . .
There must be something more to this story.
If he could only take his policy group and the crystal ball unit with him
Suckholes like Weiss always land on their feet with a good job somewhere. He knows how to obey his masters and keep his mouth shut.
3/10/2012 12:47:00 AM
Actually, its the oppisit. Jody knows when to open his mouth, and how wide. He did it under Daleys desk for 3 years.
I second that. Bring J-Fed back over this New York guy.
Has his condo sold? Will he stay local or relocate? This will tell all.
3/10/2012 03:02:00 AM
If J-FLED's albatross of a condo has actually been sold, the real estate agent's name has to be Merlin, Houdini, David Copperfield, Wizzo the Wizard or Howard Wolowitz! Because only a magician or a wizard could sell that thing in this economy! Regardless, whomever sold it for him, a big thank you sir/madam! GOTTA RUN!
According to the Recorder of Deeds web site, condo which was purchased for $533,000 has not been sold....
Deed is usually recorded about about 2 months after a contract is entered into....
Any boys and girls in blue with access to MLS can ckeck listing status....
Looks like hes taking a bath on the place....
This guy worked for the most corrupt mayor in the country and what did he uncover then? Nothing. Now all the sudden he's sherlock holmes? Gimme a break.
After countless hours he spent investigating him they had to break it to him that Al Capone has been dead for over fifty years. With that he said my job is done here and resigned.
I wonder if anyone could possibly consider Andy Shaw as being a threat to anything...
>pfft<
Jody,
You gave us the 4 & 2, rifles, Tasers, new cars, helped Mette and got rid of clout heavy bosses. You could have been one of our best sups ever.
Most leaders are remembered for 1 thing and 1 thing only. You'll forever be remembered as the one who did Cozzi. Shame on you.
Why don't you save face, display some of that famous FBI integrity and tell us what really went on during your tenure.
Anyone who would take back J-Fled should go to Bill Cozzi, apologize for being a jagoff, and then report to random drug testing immediately.
Phil Cline the best Boss
He saw the light became a Southsider , hair gels don't have a chance , last 2 bosses outsiders, exempt staff 99 % merit
Most Blue shirts could run CPD better , but will never have the chance
For the remainder of your miserable life, get some spine you feckless piece of shit. Look in a mirror (if you can). What do you see?
NO LOSS AT FOR CROKED CHICAGO!
This got over a million dollars in three years just by talking a lot of bullshit to the hacks that ate dat shit up!

JFed was alright in my book and much better than the current or Cline.
We got a better work schedules, new vehicles, AR's, actual training and he dumped alot of the exempt political CLOUT hacks!
What do we have now? If you weren't one of Fat Phil's ass lickers you just zilch!
LESSON LEARNED, J-FLED?
(1) Leave the Midwest ASAP, never to return.
(2) Get into a 12-step program and realize that you have no cojones whatsoever, you spineless piece of shit.
(3) Look in a mirror. What do you see?
(4) If you don't experience an overwhelming sense of shame, you are herein diagnosed as an irredeemable PSYCHOPATH.
(5) Get psychiatric help with prescribed medications.
Oh yeah, don't forget that Jody helped alot of PO's that were getting railroaded and reinstated them.
Some of us appreciate the things that he did, alot behind closed doors too.

i hate to say it but I absolutly agree. Everyone likes to say he railroaded cozzi. Yes, he did.. BUT, when cozzi cracked that guy who was handcuffed what did he expect???? This is chicago in the post sos scandel. He got caught on video and he screwed up. As a police officer you need to face reality. You do something like that and your open to fed prosecution. Jody forwarded it and it happened. It was sh*tty but it happened. Welcome to being a police officer! J fed wasnt that bad. He may have been clueless about some things but overall he was fair. He did good things and others not so good. He dumped some great bosses and promoted others who were good. Got us good stuff, good cars, tazers, rifles etc. He reinstated a bunch of guys in a hurry and cleared out callback. It wasnt all that bad. I would take him back over this idiot mccarthy any day. Over cline you say??? Nah, I dont know about that. If you didnt like phil it was for a reason.. you most likely screwed up and he did something about it. Otherwise cline was a great boss. better than hillard and Rodriguez and definitely better than wies and this current idiot.
Northside,
John, I recognize a few of your (style) postings on this particular site/topic.
Thanks for not stealing my post/idea on this topic that you so eloquently have included in many of your other remarks regarding, "J-Fled."

You have obviously never worked in a CPD beat car, else, you would not make such a ridiculous comment. You foolishly trivialized the street copper's need for cars, manpower, riot gear/training, ammo problems, etcetera.
Whatever the government suits handle, while it might be a headache and it surely impressed you to be in their meeting, it is handled in a climate-controlled office and nobody is trying to kill them, like the urban street-copper who is in the danger zone, day-in-day-out, without the proper manpower, equipment and training.
Besides, the first concerns for the government suits should be the same as the street-copper's concerns, which are proper staffing, training, and equipment for patrol because those elements are the foundation to combat EVERYTHING else that causes the suits to worry. Think about it.
MARS CALLED: They want their Martian back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The truth finally came out! He was wanted on a warrant...in Pluto!!!!!!'!!!
Perhaps he was asked to leave over the Herbie Pulger (City Sticker controversey) It embarrased Rahm and higer ups on the CPD. Not to mention Suzanne Mendoza. This may be a way to recoupe some of the money she paid out of pocket. Good bye you little beadie eyed fat toad.

What is this the Jody Weis FAN CLUB? Go the fuck with him if you love him so much. He was an outside fuckup that made it a point to dump people that put a lifetime into this department. How many of you take an M-4 out every tour? How many people actually like the Tahoe? why not 4 wheel drive if you can't chase people in a Tahoe? Winters in Chicago, usually? I'm no fan of Weis but we let alot of good bosses go that would have made great superintendents. daley might not agree, but I could care less what that POS thinks. Nowmcan I get a few event numbers?
I think he is going to Darien PD to be DTEB's deputy chief.
Maybe he a acting as an informant and found what intel to pass along to US Attorney office.

...and now he has to go in the witness protection program.
His only redemption would be if his entire assignment as supt was a hoax and he is about to be the ace in the hole to slam daley and co. in federal prison.
Make a wish foundation...
accomplished what in eight months?
he took a whole dept to show him what a gang graffetti looked like and he was still slow on the draw
he must have really i mean really pissed them off
" I Think I Seee It Now"
can he find his way out of a well lit room?
he could have upset the status quo
and was told never mind what's here it out there we worry about
i mean what is really to do on the chicago crime commission? what do they do?

This is bibble-babble, complete nonsense.
That whole bustout "family" and their pathetic mess of a Facebook life already got 100 times more attention than they deserved.
It's OVER.
Just let it drop, huh?
I never really noticed anything about his law enforcement or policing abilities because once I saw that he was an unattractive man he simply ceased to exist for me.
"criminal org's dictating the leadership of law enforcement entities is beyond comprehension." This was so sweet. I tried to think of how old I was and how I learned how things got done in Chicago when I realized that there was no "way" and Chicago was different from anywhere else on earth. I learned from the the time I could hear and see because I was born and raised in the heart of the city and like everyone else raised here, we know how things are done. That comment was so funny (to me)that I thought SCC planted it for a sarcastic joke. I do think it's great that someone has a heart that still that pure.

"far bigger problems!"
Like how do they keep hiding how much crime is really in Chicago?
How do they keep cutting police manpower and say they are putting more police on the street?
How do they get control of our pension funds so they can steal them and make Daley's pals rich?
Who on this next domestic call might try to kill us and then lie about it to take everything we ever worked for in our life?
Yes, they deal with much bigger problems.

This guy did not go out of his way to get Mette out. He heard the case was going to be reversed and then he jumped on the bandwagon. We would have gotten M4s regardless of who came in and if you think a V6, RWD Tahoe is the end all be all of policing you are a tool. Give me a break.
I agree with a fellow poster who touched on the subject of Weiss and 'Integrity.'
The FBI motto is “Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity.”
IF JFled was TRULY a dedicated and honorable FBI Agent, then he should respect that motto.
It's not too late, and it takes a real man to admit one's mistakes.
I'll only respect him when he steps forward and gives ALL the details about the Daley administration that he kept quiet about in the name of Integrity.
Until then he deserves all the criticism on his plate.

his head as a mardi gras float!!! Priceless thanks for the laugh
Steroid testing
Hopefully this is the last time I ever have to read about this piece of shit.
He probably wants to fill that resume with a lot of important sounding shit after CPD. His way of saying "See, they didn't think I was a chicken-shit." Doubtful if anyone in police work will buy it though.
A lot of men would have been great except for one fatal error which ruined otherwise illustrious careers. It's those single, fatal errors which separate the mediocre from the great.
Eddie Burke via Sneed says:
The Weis exit . . .
The abrupt resignation of former top cop Jody Weis after just eight months on the job as head of the Chicago Crime Commission was no surprise.
To wit: Sneed is told Weis never got the control he wanted and butted heads with the wrong people, er, J.R. Davis, the head of the commission’s board of directors — who will take over Weis’s position.
Fact: His relationship with Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Chicago Police Commissioner Garry McCarthy was cool to nonexistent. ”He’s not what you call a team player,” said a top source.
The flipside: Weis “had great local, state and federal credentials and he was trying to move the Crime Commission into the 21st Century,” a 20-year member of the board told Sneed. “But the old guard there didn’t seem to like precisely what they hired him to do.”
Translation: “Everything he wanted to do they found difficult,” said another source. “He felt, ‘If we can’t come to agreement on the simple stuff, it’s not going to work out.’ ”
Ouch: Sneed hears a person Weis had hired was fired last week without his knowledge.
Quoth Weis: “I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Chicago Crime Commission,” Weis told Sneed. “I believe we have improved our impact and raised our profile given what we were able to accomplish in a short time — and the direction I felt we needed to head. I believe it was a good time to move into other efforts.”
The end shot: Weis loves Chicago and plans to spend more time with his wife before he starts looking for another job.
It looks like JFed tried to put some teeth into the Chicago Crime Commission and got fired. God knows that we can't have anyone exposing the criminal enterprise, nka Chicago

Why not? Garry's questionable resume got him supe of Chicago.
SOMEBODY bought the b.s.

Wrong. It's way too late to do the right thing. The right time to do it was when he bacame aware of it.
If he would go public now, it'd be for one reason: money. Write the best-selling book.
Problem is, he couldn't find corruption if it walked up to him and shook his hand.
He was kept in the dark about any backroom deals (do you really think Daley trusted a Fed?) and he knows nothing, so he can't spill the beans on anything at all.
Gotta give the Crime Commission some respect. At least THEY didn't keep him around for three whole years, once they figured out what he was about.
Lets just hope he leaves and karma gets him right when he least expects it. I doubt seriously that he has one friend in the world as snakey and ass kissing and shakey and incompetent as he was.
This guy did not go out of his way to get Mette out. He heard the case was going to be reversed and then he jumped on the bandwagon. We would have gotten M4s regardless of who came in and if you think a V6, RWD Tahoe is the end all be all of policing you are a tool. Give me a break.
its a V8 not a V6... they dont make tahoes with a V6...dork
