NYPD Visitors

A group of our NYPD brethren are headed to Chicago for a St. Patrick's Day vacation and are looking for a couple of good spots to visit:
  • Hi I was wondering if you could help out a few NY cops with some info about the St Patricks Day Parade. Myself and some of my Co workers are making the trip out for the Parade. Just wondering if you could advise me of some good places to hang out with some of Chicago Finest. Also If you could give me the muster Point of the Parade that would be great.

Readers? We don't suppose there are any decent spots for a few visitors to spend time at?

I am guessing Gary's place won't be one of those spots to hang-out at.

A part from the usual gin mills on Division, Lincoln, Halsted, try Mo Dailey's Pub and Grille. Sure it is not downtown, but they just opened up on the NW side and it's a pretty good place.

Well, let's make sure that these individuals in fact are NYPD. A few years ago my partner and I (off duty), while at he south side irish parade (corrigans) uncovered a couple of assholes, one NYPD and another NYFD, were nothing more than civilians in uniforms borrowed from friends. When we confronted them and called them out, they left the bar immediately.

I have no problem showing around fellow brothers/sisters in blue or in red for that matter. But passing yourself off as something you are not......well, enough said.

People are probably a little hesitant (or at least should be) to answer this on a blog which many non police read because if we admit where we are going to be on the day of the parade (likely drinking heavily!) it may not be not something we want to advertise for all! Maybe someone can directly contact them for some info on how to have a great time here and meet up with a few CPD?

THIS IS THE TRUTH!!!

Whomever this bullshitter is trying to infiltrate CPD hangouts can find a cop or three on every corner at the parade.

You wanna hang out with us? COME SHOW YOUR CREDENTIALS TO ONE OF US.

Even then, McCocksucker can't be trusted not to have a few of his personal buddies who actually still work for the NYPD to show up and cause problems for CPD. By problems I mean, starting fights so McShitstick can publicly crucify the CPD while simultaneously holding his friends at NYPD out as some kind of hero just trying to "relax".

Sorry pal, this is CHICAGO. Around here, we don't trust a fucking soul thanks to the like of the scumbag politicians and scumbag superintendents who've set up their own people like chumps for decades.

Even if one of us DOES provide you some info, I hope whomever attempts to hang with you has at least a fairly sensitive bullshit meter and leaves you hanging at the first scent of McShitstick bullshit.

My first visit to NYC as CPD. (while in college, I had visited earlier with my roomie from the North Bronx).

I had a baby furlough while in Fillmo' and on impulse, my then girlfriend, a beautiful angel, and I decided to drive to NYC. I had just bought my very first car--a brand new custom-painted ("Monterey Green Firemist") Buick Riviera with a great stereo and a reclining passenger seat.

We headed for Greenwich Village where I made a "misdrive", the flashing lights of an NYPD RMP in my rear view mirror. The PO approached, his partner back in the RMP. I opened my wallet to pull out my DL, my CPD star glistening in the sun. He said "What's that?". I politely said I was CPD. He called out to his partner "Hey, Vinnie! He's a coppa from Chicahga!"

Vinnie came up shouting "Hey, you guys were great during the (1968 Democratic) Convention!" They treated us to a great (discounted) meal at a Village trattoria. I left a huge tip. Later that night, I returned the favor at a cop bar where we met a great bunch of other NYPD guys.

We had such a good time in the Apple, my dear lady, a highly-skilled "masseuse" insisted that she wanted to "relieve (my) tension" in rest areas every hundred miles en route home. Needless to say, I exited the Indiana Toll Road with a big smile on my face.

Those guys are the best. God bless the NYPD.

Hey Brothers ay NYPD, Chicago is done for St.Paddys Day. It was always absolutely one of the funniest days of the year. Now no one wants to march from C.P.D. and the ranks are full of Suburban Dept's. Southie and Savannah are the places to go. Tradition has gone the way of Political Correctness. At the rate we're going it will be deemed a violation of Church and State and replaced with Glorious Obama Day.

The best place to spend St. Patricks day is at home.

In fact, even though I can trace both sides of my family back at least 5 generations to Ireland, I like to adopt a different nationalality on St. Paddy's day, to include a beer from that particular country.

This year I'm honoring our neighbors to the north by declaring myself Canadian for the day, and I'll be busting open a few Molsons in their, and my, honor.

Hey Chicago pipe and drum. Yea I'm
Sure that's what the NYPD cops wanna do. Walk around with you instead of going to a bar and listening to real music and not worrying about drinking and pissing outside- whether it's the bourbon street bands, the fill my crack in bar or the downtown bars or the emerald society party-anything is better than walking around aimlessly like a bunch of little kids.

For Christ's sake!
The parade is the SOUTHSIDE Irish Parade and almost every post is for bars, burger joints and hotels all over the northside? Unbelievable!
To the NYPD guys coming, just come to the southside (99th and Western Ave.) BEFORE the parade starts at 1100hrs. Just introduce yourself to any BLUE SHIRT working the parade. They will be more than happy to direct you to some "cop friendly" places.
Sorry that we have to vague on here. I'm sure you guys realize the microscope we're under lately. This department would do anything to fuck with us lately. Welcome to Chitown! Have a great time and BE SAFE!

It's actually a bar on 111th pinhead. I wouldn't go there of you paid me but you need to expand your horizons and stop hitting on the Skags in Sean's Rhino Bar  3/10/2012 09:27:00 AM

It's just a shame that IRA'S is no more. Plenty of coppers from all over the world were able to celebrate the "high holy" holiday there year after year.

R.I.P. Ira.

........ Yuck every ahole drunk from 012 would treat police from other districts like they were walking into their house.,what a depressing place it was

There are a bunch of retired CPD working security for the southside parade. They'll have on IDs or coppers will point them out. Some are having house parties near the route. Like previous posters have said ask coppers. More than one til u get what you're looking for. They'll probably see u before u see them though.

I hope these poor guys didn't wind up with hydro-head at some bust-out northside hipster joint.
