- A Los Angeles mayoral candidate took an early campaign swipe at his leading opponents this week and inadvertently exposed the city Fire Department for publishing misleading performance data.
Top brass at the Los Angeles Fire Department on Friday admitted that for years the agency put out data that made it appear that firefighters were arriving at the scene of emergencies faster than they actually were. - Relying on Fire Department reports presented to lawmakers, Beutner said that in 2008 the department responded to medical emergencies within five minutes 86% of the time. After the cuts, the department last year met that standard just 59% of the time, he said.
Following Beutner's critique — and a Times inquiry — the department made an awkward admission: Data showing it did so well in the past was simply wrong.
Whoa. So they actually....like....lied? A government agency? But that could never happen here, right? The most corrupt state in the USA? Never!

Exposing the lie suits their purpose showing that with the cuts their present response times haven't changed. They get credit for not only exposing the lie but for showing no change in response times with the cuts demonstrating that they have eliminated waste and have become more efficient. Wonderful.

-why we don't cut down the number of aldermen.
-where did they spend all our tax monies and who stole how much.
-which tree is strong enough to support the weight of every thieving one of them.

The biggest liar in this city has always been the Mayor. The reason they have drivers is because their long noses won't allow close enough to the windshield to drive. That's why they sit in the back seat.
It happens all the time. I worked in the suburbs and one fire paid-on-call department used as its response time the time the first person got on the scene. Since they had a "duty officer" with a car responding, when he arrived on the scene that was logged as the response time, even if it took another 5 or more minutes to get apparatus on scene.
Get ready to PAY with speeding cameras! These corrupt politicos got to go!

Would that be anything like the lie no north side detectives would be sent south or consolidating the areas would save money and offer better police service or the 20% would be for hardship cases or the lie the union gave us about how they protect our rights and then sign off on the area consolidation changes without consulting us and then tell us we weren't suppose to know they signed off on our rights?

I was on scene for 4 people shot in Engelwood today. One of them in the face, and that one is the son of the Black P stones leader. It's also supposed to be in the 70s for a few days. I can just see G-tard right now flipping a shit. I must say in his defense though that it did occur exactly 1&1/2 blocks from 007th district violence zone 1. Pheww that was close.

- A longer school day and year, but a DECREASE in prep time and PD

- An end to accumulated sick days (not sure of the details here)
- Increased health care costs
- No job security - tenured teachers who are laid off from closing schools would get no rehire rights and arbitrary systems, which make it easier to fire even the best of teachers.

I don't get it. It is what it is. No need to lie about response times. If the citizens want faster response then the answer is probably to hire more first responders or deploy them more efficiently.

Youre right on....What I think is even more pathetic, is how the U.S. is only around 220 years old, compared to some of those countries/civilizations that are thousands of years old. It only took our politicians, people, corportations, 200 years to ruin this beautiful country. I really hope it's going to get better soon, because if not, we are headed for a revolution and we are going to be in the middle of it.
