The Greatest Gun Salesman Ever

  • Gun sales are up in Indiana, to the point where some stores are running short on both ammunition and weapons.

[...] The FBI says in 2007, it received about 187,000 criminal background requests from Indiana gun sellers. That figure grew to nearly 346,000 last year.

The number is up nearly double since the time before President Obama took office. And the surge has not ended – another 45,553 requests for background checks came in February, compared with 32,083 in the same period last year.

And that's just in Indiana.

Ruger has stopped accepting orders for new guns citing a backlog of over one million orders. Mossberg International won't even speculate on the wait time for its guns. If you have any sort of gun manufacturers in your stock portfolios, you are making a load of money as Ruger and Smith & Wesson are up over 100% each since April of last year. And this weekend's NRA convention in St. Louis? Record breaker? We'll see.

Had to wait about 5 months to get my Rock River! Well worth the wait IMO! Stocking up on ammo and MREs too.

WTF? I remember back in 2008 being told that if Obama got elected, he was going to outlaw, and take all the guns from patriotic Americans gun owners.

Come to think of it, now that the elections are coming up, they're replaying that same song again.

Wow they're back to the same BS from 4 years ago. My guns are still safe. Obama has signed a law that allows guns to be carried in the national parks, he’s signed a bill that allows handguns to be checked, stored in baggage and carried by law enforcement on AMTRAK, and he has preserved the limits on government information on traced firearms from getting into the hands of folks outside of law enforcement. He has yet to sign anything that reigns in or weakens gun rights.

Well, if things weren't bad enough and The Messiah proclaimng to have a patron son in Sanford FL, this was in the paper...
"Meanwhile, tensions were rising in Sanford as townspeople awaited the prosecutor’s decision. Someone shot up an unoccupied police car Monday night as it sat outside the neighborhood where Martin was killed. And a demonstration by college students closed the town’s police station earlier in the day."
The towns People ? Hmmm.
Zimmerman will not be prosecuted and probably advised to get out of town.
Now, back to Chicago, murder rate up and a failure of local leaders can only mean an eventual uprising by our own "townspeople".
We won't be ready for NATO, or the Zimmer-kreig.

One question: can anyone point to any law that Obama or the Dems have put forth that would limit Second Amendment rights? I don't recall any. They've given up on this, as they know the cannot win in the Supreme Court. I think the gun manufacturers and sellers are ginning up paranoia to make money. Seriously, can anyone reading this blog cite a single gun-control law (on the national level, not from the chumps in Springfield) that's been put forth since 2008?

"WTF? I remember back in 2008 being told that if Obama got elected, he was going to outlaw, and take all the guns from patriotic Americans gun owners."

When he was a senator, he said he was against concealed carry.

Traditionally democrats have been against the private possession of firearms (Do you remember a guy by the name of Richard M. Daley?).

Ted Kennedy, when confronted with the loss of a piece of firearms legislation wrote back to one of his constituents, a person he was elected to represent, he had been elected not to serve as the voice of his constituents, but to follow the dictates of his "conscience."

Holder's legacy is "Fast & Furious."

While much of it is probably needless panic, at this point in his administration Obama's got nothing to lose if he introduces, backs or actually pushes anti-gun legislation. He's a lame-duck president whether he wins or loses. His lameness will just run it's course sooner than later, depending on the election results. He may also have the opportunity to appoint anti-gun supreme court justices (Ginsburg has gone on record saying that in the future countries should not base their constitution on ours, it's antiquated!)

It never hurts to be stocked up on ammo for your firearm of choice, the one that you regularly train with.

"It's better to have a gun and not need it, than to need a gun and not have it."

Joining the NRA & ISRA will give you a voice come legislation time.

Yep. Funny how I didn't see that story reported in the papers but in today's Sun-Times there is mention of a black Law maker in Idaho ( or maybe Iowa ) being intimidated by the KKK. Complete one sided bullshit!

That's OK, murder and shooting at people are illegal, there are laws against it. Kill someone in Chicago and you might got to jail for at least 5 years.

That guy who was shot down on a Rogers Park street a few weeks ago shot a kid a few years ago and got 4 years in prison. He was out in ONE year.

Meanwhile, Bill Cozzi did almost 4 years for slapping a dog ass. Something wrong here.

To all you stupid Pollyanna motherfuckers trying to defend Obama on guns, I sure hope you aren't expected to rely on that same wit and foresight to keep yourself alive on the mean streets.

His sentiments on guns are written in stone. Every Term 1 president is 'limited' as far as what he can do, on certain things.

I mean, for fucks sake, he was busted speaking freely about this sort of thing with Sarkozy, when he didn't realize the mic was live.

His exact words were: 'After my election, I have more flexibility'

You think Obama doesn't head straight for gun rights in Term 2, you're one naive motherfucker and I hope you're willing to bet against it, because I'm willing to bet on it.

They won't get there legally, so shut up and hand-wring somewhere that someone cares about the evil guns you wet your bed at night about.

Firearms are LEGAL everywhere but in Cook County and Chicago. It's working so well.

A certain amount of this can be attributed to panic peddling, but I still don't trust Obama one bit, and will vote against him again this year.If he tries anything to take away gun rights, he will be walking right into a shitstorm.
While I am not an activist and always tend to mind my own business, I would be glad to make an exception on 2nd Amendment issues.

Yeah, I can see that: he went around Congress to get single-payer public health care laws enacted, he went around Congress to close Guantanamo and send the prisoners there to southern Illinois, he went around Congress to . . . wait, none of that happened! He cannot go around Congress or disregard the courts. How he's a dictator is beyond me. There's almost no chance the D's take the House back this year, they could lose the Senate: yet somehow, Second Term Obama will be omnipotent and just dictate anti-Gun laws. How?

No laws by obama have passed yet, and wait and see what occurs in the 2nd term which i forsee is an inevitable.

BUT- BHO, and every cabinet appointee, and all his appointees espouse the anti-gun position along with other socialist ideals.

Fast & Furious was to be "Selling point" or plank on the anti-gun platform. Which would have been an easy sell, and forced upon the American Public. How? Look at areas of STRONGEST BHO support- URBAN America.

You are forgetting about his executive orders aren't you....
Who was talking about healthcare? but since you brought it up lets see.. Harry Reid bribes Sen. Nelson of Nebraska, $ 100 million in special Medicaid assistance, the Cornhusker Kickback, in exchange for Nelsons vote. Nancy Pelosi saying they have to vote for the bill before finding out what is in it. The majority of Americans are against Obamacare, the 2010 midterm elections are evidence of that with the democrats losing the house majority as a backlash of having this crap crammed down our throats.

It is also well known that Obama despises the Constitution because it gives the people rights, not the government.
What did he say on that open mic. to the commie a few weeks ago? Something about once he is re-elected he will be able to do more?
Here is a Washington Times article about NRA official saying Obama wants to outlaw guns in his second term. obama wants to outlaw guns

Sigh. Of course an NRA official will say Obama plans to outlaw guns. That gins up the paranoia I'm talking about. American presidents are not dictators; executive orders and signing statements and recess appointments notwithstanding, the President can do NOTHING without the House and the Senate sending it to him. And the House and the Senate aren't doing diddly about Gun Control because they know they'll lose their next elections if they even try. As for the bribery with the ACA, it mostly was about giving into right-wing Nebraska and its hatred of abortion (and the public option that lefty Obama promised but did not deliver on). George W. Bush wasn't able to privatize social security during his lame duck do-anything second term, and Obama won't be able to repeal the 2cd Amendment either.

Lets see... Can't go around congress. He just said, Congress doesn't count, that he was going to rule by decree, and also that he can't wait for congress to act and he would govern by executive order.

can't disregard courts.. He already has done that. U.S District Judge ruled Obama's offshore drilling ban was unconstitutional, obama is in contempt of court.

That is two branches of our government he disregards, his branch is the only one standing in his mind. What does that make him?
