Ozzie, You Mope

  • Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen was suspended for five games Tuesday because of his comments about Fidel Castro, and he again apologized and said he’ll do whatever he can to repair relations with Cuban-Americans angered by the remarks.

The suspension by the team will be without pay and takes effect immediately. It was announced shortly before Guillen held a news conference to explain what he said.

Yeah, you wouldn't want to keep your socialist leanings a little under the radar in the biggest enclave of Cuban emigres who fled or were driven out of Fidel's workers' "paradise," would you?

Can we have him deported to Moscow? I'm curious to here his bendings toward Stalin, Lenin and perhaps Ghengis.

Remember when Ozzie held up the trophy at the big rally, and fucking dedicated the win to the people of Venezuela?

That's the day I became a Cub fan.

Hey SCC, I thought you liked Ozzie? I kinda' remember you posting here how Ozzie was so nice to the CPD.

Between you and me, I never like the guy from day one.

Just shut up and COACH, Ozzie. You're not a politician, so stop trying to be one. I don't know who's a bigger idiot sometimes, Ozzie of his kid who blogged about
a Sox player's personal business shortly before Ozzie
got his walking papers from the Sox. And of all places to sing the praises of a dictator, Florida, home to a multitude of refugees from Cuba, Venezuela and Haiti.
Just STFU!

Considering the millions of dollars this nitwit has made in this country, the fact that you can still barely understand what the fuck he's saying, after having been in this country for over 25 years, is a travesty. I hope Marlin ownership fires his stupid ass.

Methinks Ozzie drinks way too much and should get some help. He admits to getting drunk after every game. Also a large cork in his mouth would help.

Weather you agree or disagree with what Ozzie said I find it quite hypocritical that the very people who fled from a country where free speech is non existent are angry to the point that they want a person to lose his job over expressing his personal beliefs. That's why they came here right? To get away from an oppressive dictator. These people would make great politicians.

Goofball Guillen was effusive in praising Daniel Ortega the Communist President of Nicaragua. He also has a Man-Crush on Hugo Chavez...

I am not surprised by this goofball. I remember the night the White Sox won the World Series. He wrapped himself in the Venezuelan flag. Also, when invited as a team to the White House he was a "no show". Since then I refused to even watch a game. My husband said you can't blame the team. How many years has it been since winning the World Series? I guess it was OK with the organization. It was the fans that paid his salary. If he loved his "homeland" and it's leader he should of stayed.

Yea, egomaniac fidel and his stooge CHE were both mass-murderers. And then, when his stooge was getting to popular, he (f.c.) cut off his money and supplies while he (che) was trying to start problems in Bolivia, causing him to be killed by the Bolivian Army(under the watchful eye of the US Special Forces).
Yea, a real stand-up guy you chose to honor ozzie.....

I don't support Castro, but I can appreciate his role in the humerous story of American politics. How can you not be amused that this goof has survived all that the U.S. has thrown at him. U.S. presidents have come and gone and he is still around! If we were serious about getting him out, it would have been done with. Ozzy has and will always be a goof. A likeable one.

I'm a Sox fan and was amazed how frequently Ozzie kept stepping on his d--k by his stupid comments and remarks while in Chicago. I thought he was sent to sesitivity training while in Chicago(He must've failed). Maybe the proper punishment for him would be to manage the Cuban National Baseball Team for a couple of years and live under his beloved dictator and regime. Maybe then he would see how good he has it in America and learn to shut is mouth and do what he is paid to do..........manage a baseball team and keep his studip thoughts to himself.

He is free to say what he wants. He does not have a guarantee of a job. You are free to say what you want but there should be repercussions for stupid speech. He is not being put in jail. It not the government putting a muzzle on him. The people upset are the people who patronize his team.
On a slightly different topic, why would a person who thanks go his skills makes millions of dollars a year, basically advocate a system under which he would be denied the full pecuniary benefits of his skill. Again stupid.

Ozzie is ozzie. A true latín american socialist. He has a romanticized version of a latín american utopia, like simon bolívar invisioned. Where the politics and riches flowed equally to both the rich and poor, making a classless society. Usually such visions are exalted by one party systems run by men, like mao, ho chi minh, lenin, putin, castro, ortega, chávez, samosa, papa doc duvalier, as opposed to one party systems run by men like bautista, trujillo, where the class system kept persons of color and the poor in the lower eschelons of their society.Ozzie lives this contridiction, thats why he loved chicago. Living in a one party system where the rich and connected, like his exboss reisndorf, gets taxpayer money to fund his private baseball enterprise and the link card holders getting paid for doing shit. All the while the middleclass gets the bill and the least amount of services. The exception in the USA as oppose to china or cuba, is all citizens, like the middlclass has the right, in a democratic republic, to change their fate, by voting for the other guy, not so in chicago, cook county. The machine has brought socialism to a new form. Elections full of shills and unopposed canidates, the connected getting taxpayer money, to build hotels, bars etc., while the middleclass endures cuts to their services, less police, better schools, increases in property taxes, water fees, city stickers, park district activities. Chicago is use to unintelligable mumbling idiots and crooked politicians/ businessmen. Florida, not so much. They could understand ozzie loud and clear, his bullshit wont be tolerated over there. Baseball is a sport embraced and loved by most of latín america, where politics have no place in, but most latín americans are fiercely political. Most floridians left the bullshit in their countries and wont tolerate ozzie's embracing of castros/chávez version of polarizing politics and his million dollar bank account made possible, not by chávez or castro, but by united states citizens who even in cases of personal adversity, show their love and loyalty to their baseball team and their love for the game. Ozzie stuck his foot in his mouth, hopefully he's learned to keep his politics to himself and just do what he is being paid to do, manage the miami marlins baseball team.

I am glad he got called on his stupid comments. Welcome to Miami Ozzie, it aint Chicago where you used to mouth off. Where's Chavez, Ozzie? It is pitiful that he can't be man enough to own up to his comments. It is loud and clear when he was "no show" to the White House his dislike towards America. He should of been replaced already and sent back to his beloved Chavez.

Yes, he is free to say anything he wants to say and the people of Miami are free to boycott the team because of the stupid free speech that falls out of his mouth. His latest bullshit is that he was thinking in Spanish and it came out wrong. He needs to just shut up.

Ozzie really meant he loves Irving Castro who runs a cigar store in Miami. Ozzie just gets confused sometimes. He is so proud that Irving Castro is still alive after smoking tobacco for 50 years and still has electrical power to his cigar store.

As far as any Fidel comments go, it is a big misunderstanding but supposedly some Bay of Pigs veterans have put out a contract on Ozzie.

And attendance at Marlins games is projected to be down by 40% this year.

And Jerry Reinsdorf doesn't want Ozzie back. However there is a job opening for ball washer on the All Venezuelan Baseball Team, Hugo Chavez Division.

That's sort of like saying the Palestinians and Israelis should just get along.

Castro took homes, businesses, factories and in many cases killed the relatives of the Cuban expatriates now living in South Florida. Those Cubans are there only because Fidel drove them out.

You know all those cigar companies with well known brand names in the Dominican Republic, Honduras etc? The owners of those cigar factories used to be in Cuba until Fidel took over their cigar production and they fled with their tobacco seed stock. That is why in many cases there are Cuban and Dominican or Honduran versions of cigars.

Tell the Cubans who lost everything including family members to get a helmet and grow a backbone. If they could kill Fidel, to this day many of them would.

The Marlin's owner hired Ozzie to put asses in the seats and that is just not working out yet.
