Missing Gun, Radio? (UPDATE x2)

Is it true? A certain exempt is rumored to have suffered a car burglary and a gun and radio are reported missing.

Upon being informed of this egregious violation of the Rules and Regulations, McCompStat was heard to inquire, "Was it in the zone?"

Much giggling and snickering ensued.

UPDATE: Now we're being told it may have been a residential burglary? That would negate the Rules violations to some extent. But how did they get the safe out of the house?

UPDATE: Now we heard that the AdMin Fax says from an automobile. Anyone have the real story?

For the non-exempt, having a gun stolen from your car was always an automatic CR and an almost automatic day off. A vehicle is not a place to store a firearm, so says the higher ups.

Is there a CR on Moy? If so, will she take a reprimand or seven days? For those who don't know, a captain or above who gets suspended must take time off in seven day blocks, with seven days being the minimum amount of time they can be suspended.

So....what will it be?

First, as I'm true gold star fashion, the report was written solely in her husband's name and never mentions her at all. The narrative only says, stolen revolver. No mention as to the owner was only an implied idea that the complainant/ husband was the owner. If it were a PO the narrative would be much different.

Also, the report indicates the theft of the gun and radio occurred in the house. She and hubby were out, come home to find rear basement door ajar and further observe the following missing blah, blah, blah.

A witness stayed they hear someone running from the scene NFI.

Zone 13 on sunday evening was treated to the knucklehead who stole the radio. As busy as it was, at least he didn't take too much airtime. Either that or the battery was almost dead at that point. I am soo sick of living in this City, waiting to be a victim everytime I leave the house. I rush home from court just to see if I have anything left in my home.

Some shithead got my garage once when I was at court, now I fear the house isnt safe.

8 years to go and I will be out of here. Hopefully, we wont be robbed of our pensions.

Alarms dont help and neighbors are all working on the West end of 008.

Too bad us "real" taxpayers couldnt see a few of these Police cars we pay for driving up and down our blocks........ Keep giving all the service to the undeserving, its the American way.

When we gonna learn that the shitheads are more content without Police presence? Stop giving them an audience. Police the places where we live. I need to take a nap............ Rant over.

Hey SCC, little off topic here, but an illustration of what is wrong with the CPD is this.....Last week on 3rd watch, the Lt (who has worked in 23 out of 25 districts as a Lt.) was approached by an officer who's child fell prior to him starting work. He tells Lt. That he received a call from his wife that their child is vomiting and wont stop. This officers tells the Lt. He wants to go be with his wife and child in the ER since this is indicative of a possible serious head injury. The Lt. Tells him NO, your not a doctor, what are you gonna do. It not gonna make any difference if your at the hospital.. The officer says he has a small toddler and wants to be there and the Lt sys NO, your job is here, your staying here. WTF, is going on here on this job. Well apparently the Lt. Said well just wait till the rapids start then you can go. A coppers child in the ER and this Lt. Refuses to let the officer go be with his wife and child. Please commander LF, launch this heartless, psychotic person and save your watch...

If this is true the next call the Officer should have made is to the EAP (Employee Assistance Program) They would have contacted downtown who then would have contacted the LT and the Officer would have been on the way to the Hospital within 10 minutes.

Sorry to hear that the officer was detained and could not visit his son and wife ASAP. For future reference, DH is not the watch commander she is just the DSS. The PO did not need her permission to leave unless he was working the desk. The field sergeant has the authority to let the officer leave without consulting the DSS. Only the XO or the DC can over rule the field sergeants decision.

"use less as a area 4 house mouse dic"? Her entire career has been useless, from patrolman to her current rank. I know many of the guys from the old tac team in 018 that threw up when they heard she became an exempt. One guy was so upset they had to call for a crisis workr to talk him down. I remember when that prince of a man, Lt. Jim Anntonocci (sic?) told her and her partner that they had to stop bringing in Michigan Ave. shoplifters. It seemed that while all the other tac guys were either in the jets working dope and gun cases or up north chasing burglars, she and her partner were padding the stats by grabbing any and all Michigan Ave. shoplifters. When Jim realized why their numbers were so high he called her in and told her to stop it and that if she wanted to be the shoplifter police that beat 1831 was her's for the asking.

Stick it up your ass!! This ain't the real world we live in. Remember jagoff, we are supposedly held to a higher standard on this god forsaken job. And that means all of us. I've been watching this double standard bullshit for 32 years and have had about enough. These same pricks who will look you in the eye and tell you that you are held to that pie in the sky higher standard are the first ones to run roughshod doing as they see fit, when they see fit, because the rules don’t count for them. That is nothing but a crock of shit. Bosses are supposed to lead by example. Not a whole lot of that going around these days!

I remember being at a recruit graduation and Mayor Daley was the speaker. Supt. Hillard was on the stage, Daley spoke about corruption and how it must be stopped at the lowest leveland the recruits had to set the example. I was thinking that, no, thats not right, corruption is set by the bad example at the top and i am looking at two really bad examples. People do not come on this job to be corrupt, but when they see a corrupt administration and a merit hack leadership, sometimes things go bad.
