Numbers Pick Up

Just when you thought that the homicide count might slow down with the rainy weather.....

Ah, who are we kidding? No one thought anything of the sort. We just threw that out there yesterday because we heard Tom Skilling was stopping by and we wanted to raise his spirits a bit.

Anyway, the numbers went up, even with all the violence zones in full effect, the manpower at historic lows, crime cameras all down for maintenance, and McFlufferNutter personally checking on each and every foot post:
  • Six people have been killed and at least 15 others have been wounded so far in shootings across the city this weekend.

[...] At least 15 others have been wounded in shootings since Friday evening, including three women who were shot about 10:25 p.m. Saturday night by a male gunman who’d been turned away from a party in the 13200 block of South Vernon Avenue. None of the women suffered life-threatening injuries.

And the truly sad part?

  • No one is in custody in any of this weekend’s shootings, according to police.

Twenty-one shot, zero in custody. Amazing.

But we've got some asshole in custody for the two-year-old who got beaten and bitten to death over in Englewood. Good job on that one at least - any who read that case report without wanting to vomit truly has a stomach of iron.

It's called an uptick. Uptick is anywhere from 1 to 100.

Yeah, a whole houseful of women always affects to be "stunned" at the results when they leave a child alone with some wild animal one of them has dragged in off the street for sex.

There's a photo here of babymama with the previous babydaddy, who has suddenly materialized again...

TV showed literally SIXTY revs clapping and chanting and raising the roof to drive off the evil -- this took place in a Marathon station somewhere in town.

They will go away, the sun will set, and another seven or eight people will get shot right there within hours.

Philly mayor calls black crime 'terrorism'

Friday, April 13, 2012

by DailyKenn.com

"The mayor of Philadelphia stopped short of using the term 'black crime,' but we all get his point.

"Nutter made his comments at a Justice Department conference on youth violence in Washington, D.C., earlier this month.

"According to Mayor Michael Nutter the violence in our inner cities constitutes domestic terrorism. As such, it calls for a federal initiative he says. Nutter notes that the government responded to the 9-11 attacks by forming the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

"My contention has been all along that the greatest terror threat is not at the airport terminal but at the convenient store.

"Nutter also notes the numbers are about the same. 2,977 Americans were killed by al-Qaeda on Sept. 11, 2001. Last year there were 2,660 killed in America's most violent cities in one year.

"I would add that the number of Americans killed by al-Qaeda has not increased in ten years. The number of Americans killed by black domestic terrorists in America's darkest cities is duplicated year after year.

"We can estimate that since al-Qaeda's attack in 2001, there have been 26,600 additional Americans killed by black domestic terrorists in the hot zones cited by Nutter. The Department of Justice places the number much higher. It says there are 8,000 to 9,000 black homicides each year. 93 percent of their victims are black.

"Cyclical domestic terrorism

"Unlike the al-Qaeda attack, black domestic terrorism is not only perennial but apparently unstoppable...."

With the entire nation hearing about the carnage going on in Chicago I am sure this will be a favorite stop for tourist this summer. Doesn't the US State Dept. give warnings to tourist? Oh... that is for warning about FOREIGN countries that are unsafe.

No one in custody????

I can only speak for the D unit, specifically, i can only speak about the Area in which I am assigned when I say Chief Byrne and dean Andrews really messed things up.

Homicide teams? Really? I'm on one and I can say its more Mia-managed now than ever. There is absolutely no follow up on anything. All the area sgts. Are about is what happened that day and. An we send any updates out. If you tell them you're involved in something that is considered in their eyes as meaning "you're up for the next job."

Looks like hand scanning is now coming to the D unit. That's fine, but don't expect the detectives, just like guys in patrol, to be "work'n" when management takes every possible opportunity to make the job worse.

OT.

ATTENTION: Retirees.

Robert E. Beavers, age 82, retired Commander of the Chicago Police Department's Area 2 Detective Division, passed away on Tuesday-03April 2012, following a lengthy illness. He was born on 25 March 1930, to the late John and Ronette Beavers.

Robert served in the United States Army Airborne during the Korean war. He was a Chicago Police officer for over 35 years and retired as Area Two Detective Division (A2DD) Commander on his 63rd birthday in 1993. Seven days later, the mandatory retirement ordinance expired and was not reinstated for a number of years.

Robert was later appointed as Chief Deputy Sheriff (Court Services) by former Sheriff Michael Sheahan, where he worked until his retirement on 30 June 2007.

(Despite the thoughts possibly evoked by his last name, Robert Beavers was a good man and was fair and personable to all, regardless of rank, race and gender, which is a compliment of the highest order.)

Retired White Guy.

the serious reduction in manpower has led to the end of proactive policing--- instead of being there while the crime is being committed or before it occurs, we are showing up and handing the victim a piece of paper after the crime has occured--- most beat cars are chasing job after job all night long and don't have the time to chase down a hot tip or look for an offender--- some good police work is still being done but we could be a lot better if we had more manpower--- now the summer months are coming and people will be requesting time due--- g-mac wants to limit time due on weekends because that is when a lot of the crime is occuring--- that is also when a lot of family functions happen--- birthday parties, weddings, graduations, family vacations, etc... no 5b furlo or a full 5 and now they are going to limit time on weekends--- wasn't their just a ruling a few years ago that time due was not to be denied--- looks like the medical rolls are about to go postal again....

these liquor stores in the ghetto need to move to the burbs. even if it means a loss of tax revenue. the logic is people get drunk and then want to shoot somebody. so now they cant buy guns or liquor in chicago. who or what will be blamed for violence, look in the mirror.

Homicides continue to rise. Luckily for downtown April has turned into March. Tom Skilling may save this April from chaos.

I only have stats through April 8th and it isn't too bad actually with (35) shootings and (8) homicides. However, the past 8 days have been pretty violent.

Mayor Nutter is the only Black leader talking any sense on this matter. Black on Black violence has reached epidemic rates in our cities. None of the extortionist opportunist Reverends want to address that fact. Can't make any money, or get any tv airtime, talking about that "bullshit" Would rather harp on the Florida shooting. At least one man is standing up to tell the truth.

What would happen if a dozen or so Gangbangers had a shootout right in front of the Racoon's house? ALL HELL WOULD BREAK LOOSE! After the Racoon came out from under his bed he would be pissed. How about placing a few stinky ripe corpses on his front porch one night and have Amy and the kids trip over them on their way out to the limo in the morning. Bring the Ghetto to the Mayor! Reality Check asshole!
