This Isn't a Joke

Someone ought to go around and tear down those "Earned, Not Given" posters in the Districts and Academy, because nothing seems to be earned around here anymore:
  • It turns out after Thursday’s Compstat meeting there was an “after-meeting” with the exempts.

The Superintendent and 1st Deputy are upset over not “getting respect”.

As it turns out, Mc-Barstool has picked up on the fact that the exempts think he is a joke and seen it when everyone was laughing and cutting up during the Compstat meeting.

There was also an incident in the past week when a press conference was held at the 007th District. Mc-Dickwad walked into the station and Uncle Garry extended his hand out to a police officer leaning up against the wall with his hands tucked inside his vest and his foot up against the wall.
The officer stated, “Wus Up?” to the Super and never shook his hand. To say the least, this really fucked over [someone's] ego!
Now he is pushing for us to be “more professional” and adhere to stricter uniform standards with the help of the new inspectors.

As a "quasi-military organization" (we aren't paramilitary by any stretch of the imagination), we're pretty sure they can interpret the not "coming to attention" as a form of insubordination. You win based on past practice, which is probably why they issued an order about stand-up Roll Calls being held every single day.

But as far as we can recall, there's no Order, Policy or Contract provision stating you have to shake a hand that's offered. Respecting the rank is one thing, but respect is a two way street and must be earned by the individual. The First Deputy received how many "merit" promotions in his career? And the highest award our Department can bestow for shooting an innocent car? How is that remotely respectable? McCarthy has proven time and time again he is nothing more than a carpet bagging political hack who doesn't have the best interests of the police at heart, just the best interests of McCarthy and NYPD style policing (which is on the verge of blowing up in his face). What the hell is respectable about that?

We're glad we retired recently. We don't even have to pretend to respect anyone now.

(post amended to reflect Al's unearned Lambert Tree)

*Whatup fool!*

The top two of CPD have fallen to whining like dudes on the corner about feeling "disrespected" by the Po-leece?

"Ahm a grown ass maaan! Y'all gots to respeckt ME!"

We reckon it's entered into the official ledger...

The smartest, most able and qualified Police Executives in the history of CPD have effectively marched themselves to a stand-still fucking up this job beyond recognition.

They see it and yet they want to demand that officers "give a flying fuck" about anything that doesn't involve safety and survival.

Keep up that bullshit about applying corporate style "efficiencies" to something as G*dawful, messy, and wildly unpredictable as Policing.

McCarthy, Wysinger and the exempts laugh at Policemen all the time.

So does the little shit-ass and his media bobble-heads.

So does the Gold Coast/North Shore big money friends of Rahm.

It's only right that Policemen laugh back.

McCarthy has not done one positive thing for the rank and file. Just more rules and nonsense.

At least we had some optional uniform upgrades, optional weapon upgrades, and elimination of the 6th day.

All we have gotten are closed stations, hocuspocusstat, political and reverend pandering, DSS's, uniform options removed, and 99 units on foot in 11.

McCarthy is living a nightmare.

The C.P.D. is about to blowup in his face. Crime stats are doctored and are waiting for some enterprising journalist to expose them as a juicy scandal.

The G-8 was taken away because he couldn't lie to the Feds about how poorly prepared Chicago is for the mess this would create. The NATO summit could burn the heart out of Chicago and that will spoil his chance to go back to NYPD as their new chief.

There is no where he can go where he isn't hated even by the people he promoted. The people he promoted have to live and work with everyone else and everyone wants, "to take our Department back".

If this goof tries to enforce some dog and pony tricks to show respect he is getting respect he is just going to drive the hate deeper.

Stay Safe, we need to take our Department back, we don't just work here, we live here.

I don't know any NYPD cops, so I can't say for certain that McCarthy was one of those guys there that the rank and file respected. What I do know about the CPD is that Wysinger is no 'leader of men.' Nice guy? Sure. Snappy dresser? Check. But I've never heard anyone describe Wysinger as a leader. Ever. He's a man who has had a truly clout-kissed career, nothing more, nothing less. Whatever the reason the powers that be selected him to be propped up in the position of 1st Deputy, leadership never was part of the equation.

So a young warrior from the wood thought it would be a good idea to front off the superintendent. First, That's not a ballsy move that's childish and stupid. What ever happened to "if you don't respect the man respect the rank"? In the past 21 years on the job I have had the displeasure to work for some really bad (incompetent) bosses. I have also in that time worked for some of the very best. Day in and day out on the street we are met with contemptuous disrespectful citizens and we just brush it off as they are just lower thinking, ill mannered or they were never taught to know any better. After all the time I've been on, I've unfortunately gotten accustomed to it, but it never ceases to piss me off. I have always tried to be respectful to everyone regardless of my own beliefs or opinions. I guess that's just the way I was raised. (thanks Mom and Dad) " But as far as we can recall, there's no Order, Policy or Contract provision stating you have to shake a hand that's offered." REALLY!

(Rule 8: Disrespect to or maltreatment of any person, while on or off duty.) Just to name one.

What ever happend to common sense. This Officer who has at least 2 years of collage, accademy training and street experiance in one of the toughest district in the city (world) doen't have the common sence to shake the hand of the Superintendent and leave him hangin? I thought we (the police) were better than that. I might not agree with all the dicisions made by the bosses on this job and may not have alot of respect for some of them, however I wil never fail to respect the rank if not the man.

And yet, you stand on principle and would shake this ahole's hand because he is our so-called "President?" Would you shake Mussolini's hand, Hitler's hand, Castro's hand? Would all the poor souls who lost their lives to these horrible men be concerned with the title of the man who pulled the trigger, who closed the gas chamber door??

Reserve your respect for a President who upholds the Constitution, freedom and liberty, who loves this country, who bows to no one, to name just a few worthy qualities.

Know your enemy and fight to win this country back from the enemy in November. If we lose the election to oboma, our country will be lost to socialism/communism/marxism, and our lives will be hell. It IS the fight of OUR lifetime to save this country and our future.

It's part of the training to realize that when someone tells you to do something you do it whether you agree with it or not... It's an order...

I'm not a huge fan of some of the decisions being made out there, but you need to rely on your supervisors to evaluate the meaning with the safety... As far as standing at attention when they walk in the room that is a ceremonial act such as award ceremonies... Tell me why it isn't done when he walks into CompStat then... Why doesn't the security detail yell "ATTENTION" when he walks into HQ for the first time of the day... Relax Sir...You have more serious shit to worry about then wheter or not officers snap to attention...

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, whose hand was caught in the squeeze gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man... Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his role as our president.
>> The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a 'Post Turtle''.
>> Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him, what a 'post turtle' was.
>> The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road
>> and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.
>> The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain. '
>> "You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, he's elevated beyond his ability to function, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put him up there to begin with."=============

This is pretty dynamic:

ON ONE HAND, we must have order, we are better than some drunken frat-house stoner saying "Wassup". With such a huge undertaking in this age of policing, we should always respect to those of rank (discipline), and grow up. Even if we can taste the disgust.

ON THE OTHER HAND, so many of us are defined as numbers and not as hard workers (unless we have a phone-call). Dumped from one shitty unit to another. Not to mention the constant threat of headhunts, lawsuits, and separation with little department backing. Without dissent nothing would ever change.

So, its wrong to disrespect the Supe, but maybe every so often its a necessary evil...

so, here's the issue....is the organization, as they say, "on the legit?"....re: hiring, assignments, promotions, commander and higher promotions and assignments (with no demotions)....does the city assign and promote the "best and the brightest?".....while McDummy and his staff criticize the street level dope trade (oh, by the way, there's about 2000 tons of dope that come into the country every year, ask your buddy the Pres. about that (when his AG isn't running guns into Mexico)...so, it's still all "on the legit", so everyone have their shoes shined, and stand up when McDummy enters the room....then, later, hit the street, when you may well get shot at.....how about that?

Yes you do, otherwise you would have left by now. "I have a college degree"...you think it means something till you go somewhere where it doesn't matter because everyone has one. If you don't have like 20 years on the job already, you may want to shut your piehole and go back for your second degree. And I am one of those who came here AFTER I got my master's degree...and I know a few more out there.

You respect the title, not the man, so you would shake obozo's hand?????

This ahole is the enemy within..he is a communist/marxist/socialist/revolutionary/islamic sympathizer, hellbent on destroying this country and our Constitution, our freedom and liberty.

4/04/2012 11:43:00 AM

We're kicking a lot of people like you out of the military right now. You and 11:15am are the clowns that can't separate duty and personal feelings, which is part of manhood to me. I haven't been a big fan of any president and I've had some bogus leaders but I make my people respect them, I demand their respect, and they know I ensure that they are respected and taken care of. It don't matter how ate up one of the bosses is, I don't have that convo with them. Complaints go up or parallel, not down.

I had a similar experience with J-Fled and the same thing happened."

Thats what you get for sucking up. Ignor the motherfucker. You idiot. You are probably one of them gells that can't stop producing and then wonder why nobody gives a fuck about their stupid "numbers". Keep producing and thinking you are the "police". Because when you get stripped for some bullshit, and your "identity" and self esteem as being the police is suddenly gone because you don't know how to do anything else. You can stack all your stupid awards and jump off of them and dangle your feet.

I don't get how some of the young coppers call these guys "Boss." For years before I came on the term "Boss" was used as a sign of respect, such as a person you respected as a true boss on this job. There are very few that i address as "Boss" anymore on this job, but I do address them by their rank.

It made me sick in DC to see all the young coppers calling J-Fled "Boss." He shook my hand in DC, I referred to him as "Supt." Just as I would never call McCarthy "Boss." But if he put his hand out first, I would shake it and say "Supt."

If you met Jody Weis, former Superintendent by chance, and he extended his hand to you, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? I would definitely NOT shake the hand of this man. Yes, the same Weis who shamelessly violated the written City Ethics Ordinance that states you WILL NOT use your position of power to effect changes in public policy which will result in your personal economic gain. Weis did this, in violation of the law, and gained $80,000 in illegal gains by claiming "unused vacation days." The Mayor/City Council/Corp Counsel did not have the moral fortitude to drag this criminal Weis over the coals. He should be in STATE PRISON for that alone. In addition, I would severely admonish this proven coward for the shameless evil that he committed against my friend and brother, William Cozzi, who did NOTHING to deserve the many years that Weis bestowed upon him in that hateful, North-hating, Catholic-hating, red neck prison in Louisiana, far, far away from family and friends. Cozzi already served his debt to society in Illinois Court. What Weis did to Cozzi, to me, is STILL unbelievable, heartless cruelty of the worst kind.

Which brings us to the subject of people who work at 35th & Michigan Ave. The new G.O. on Social Media states that we will NOT mention another Department Member's employment with the Dept without his or her permission, so I cannot mention his or her name. It also says that we will not post comments that reflect poorly on the Department, in general. BUT I CAN say this: if ANYONE, anyone, extended their hand to you, Department Member or not, AND you felt that it was just "for show" and not sincere, AND perhaps this same person might possibly have made statements against the N.R.A. (a great organization of which I am a proud member) AND this same person, theoretically, perhaps made apparently insincere, politically-motivated race-baiting comments implying that God's Divine Law of Personal Responsibility (part of the Operating Law of the Entire Universe) does not exist, and that people with evil intentions that commit gun violence in black urban settings should NOT be held personally accountable for their actions (which is God's Law) but instead, we should believe that "government-sponsored racism" is to blame...? WE as Police Officers ARE PART OF the Government! So, such a person is implying that WE as police officers may possibly be racist, and part of a sick government conspiracy to trick young black urban youths into committing senseless acts of gun violence.....WHAT WOULD YOU DO? Would you return the hand-shake, WITHOUT AT LEAST INVITING THIS SICK, DEMENTED HUMAN SPIRIT INTO A MOMENT OF PRAYER, that he or she PRAY that he/she SEE THE LIGHT and REPENT for his/her sick/twisted philosophy of life, and reckless disregard for 2,000 years of Christian Culture that is VERY PLAIN about what is Right, and what is Wrong?

Dear Readers of this very Revolutionary Blog, The End Times ARE HERE! They are UPON US! Do NOT be afraid to speak plainly, and to speak the God's Truth. "One Man plus the Truth constitutes a Majority!"

THINK about this, the next time you say, "return the hand-shake out of respect." EVERY human being is our spiritual brother or sister. We must accept all...this is what Jesus would have us do. This DOES NOT mean that we "coddle" all, and encourage them in their sick, twisted ways!

I belong to, and LOVE the N.R.A. I also LOVE the 2nd Amendment, and the right of all good people to carry guns, to exercise their God-Ordained RIGHT to Self-Defense everywhere, as envisioned by our Noble Founding Fathers. I encourage the readers of SCC to ponder these issues, and ASK YOURSELF: would you freely return your hand in friendship, without AT LEAST trying to help this very sick person to change his or her ways, and seek the Light of Truth, and to stop LYING about things that are bringing destruction to our society?

Think about this, and then Get back to me!

To 6:18PM..

It has nothing to do with manhood..it has everything to do with being human. Understand that I am speaking of this president in the White House. No communist/marxist/socialist in any position of authority or not, is going to get my respect, my handshake. Recognize your enemy, sir...he does NOT respect you, he does NOT have your goodwill in mind...he is only concerned with having you bend to his will on your knee. Too many soldiers gave their all in wars past so that we may live free...my relative, a freedom fighter, died at the hands of the soviets in WWII. I know who the enemy within is. Only those ignorant as to who oboma IS would be foolish enough to shake his hand, to acknowledge him.

Go to www.freerepublic.com
www.breitbart.com
www.theblaze.com
and find out who/what oboma is.

Respect is a two way street. How does someone show respect by screaming and speaking down to someone in a room full of others. What management course teaches that?
Respect the rank came from the military, and from what I understand most promotions in the military are earned, big difference.

OMG! This is the first I've heard of "Earned not Given" posters. Hahahahahaha. Ironically I'm sure an "earned" merit goof came up with this. Much like war heroes who rarely speak of their bravery, good street cops only brag to each other and only in taverns. The posters should read "Stripes worth every dime!"

You get what you give. This is a "leader" who regularly berates and humiliates his command personnel at the compstat meetings. This "leader" also then lectures in an extremely condescending manner as if he were talking to children from his "I'm from NY and you're the second city" attitude. He panders to the political left (St.Sabina) and finally, he's completely abdicated his roll as an agent for change in the corrupt promotional system this department has labored under for years (Carothers, kicked upstairs, really?, recent exempt promotions of political hacks, really?) You have to earn respect. He hasn't.

That officer was just plain wrong. The guy offered his hand, common courtesy says you should shake his hand. Im reading he was never a po, BS do you think he started out as a chief in NY, he worked the beat, half the complainers never met the man, did you already forget Del Pearsons letter to this website. He took one in the chest and had dealings with the Supt and hes not complaining. If anyone is allowed to offer an opinion he should be. Talk to any of the officers that were shot and get their opinion of the Supt

What has become of CPD ? whining has become the order of the day disrespect for your superiors and peers is deemed an heroic act.Regardless of your personal feelings you must respect the rank if you think you are justified in exhibiting such juvenile behavior you are going to have a very short career.
Some of you believe you are entitled to anything you want and ain't gonna do nothing if you don't get it.Its a slap in the face to those who've gone before you, they served proudly some making the ultimate sacrifice for lot less and under deplorable working conditions and political interference it is what it is.Take pride in the fact that you were chosen to take on an unenviable task that offers little reward or accolades.Be safe out there and support one another.

However, if you work, how Many bs crs have you taken? Lawsuits? McCarthy, stand with us not against us. If he didnt shake your hand that's wrong but support us, tell us what more we can do because the street stops, the hunting, the pro activity is being done.
