Another Shooting
- A police officer fired a shot but did not hit anyone following a car chase and collision that ended with the capture of two shooting suspects on the Near West Side.
The police officer involved had stopped at a Walgreens, 2340 W. Madison St., for a bottle of water about 11 a.m. when the incident began, according to Harrison District Police [...].
Witnesses flagged the officer down in the parking lot of the pharmacy and pointed out a Cadillac they said contained a gunman who had been shooting at someone in the 2300 block of West Warren Boulevard -- about a block east -- earlier, [...].
The officer began chasing the Cadillac, but the pursuit ended a short time later when the driver lost control and rear-ended a red pickup truck parked at 134 N. Campbell Ave., injuring a man inside.
[...] The two men inside the Cadillac – one of whom was armed – then exited the car and tried to flee. One of them had a gun, prompting the officer to fire one shot
Summer is right around the corner and the criminals are getting bolder. Be careful boys and girls.

And more news from 011...
2 officers found liable for punitive damages in federal court for something THEY WEREN'T EVEN ON SCENE FOR. Seems all it takes (AGAIN) is some fuckIng mutts to make up a story, evidence of the officer's innocence be damned.
Keep working people! Give your best efforts and put your life on the line every day to try and save the savages from themselves while they take shots at our bretheren.
Pony up thousands of dollars out of pocket because the dregs of society are more believable than you.
Work that 2nd gig to offset the pension reductions that are coming round the bend.
Prepare for cuts to your medical plan while every Goddamned illegal and ghetto Mama pumps out 6 or more kids and don't pay penny the first towards any cost associated with having a child.
You dummies seeing the big picture yet?

Im 35 with 12 years on. Rahm wants me to work another *25* years before I can collect a pension?? Assuming he does not change the game again.... Are the new hires going to pay into MY pension?

What is going on with sending coppers to the 003rd district on the weekends. Anyone talk to the union? is this a grievance? Two cars a night from third watch to sit in 003. ANyone got any info on this. This could turn out to be a very long summer
Pension mess coupled with no time due?
My solution = no revenue
Care to join me?
Glad to see the officer using the gun on the hip at these mutts. After all it ain't a Christmas decoration. This just in though, heard it tonight. The City is planning to mess with the wage scales in a very big way. Also every city employee is going to wake up after this NATO fiasco and find the city is going to take away a lot of the benefits, like holidays, personal days, etc. in order to make up for the pension problem. And there is more cuts coming in court overtime. Every officer is going to get a court card and a new identification card. The court card will be swiped in and out of the court building. There will only be a total of six people in the court section to handle those little problems dealing with the court cards and the court section will be at 35th Street. Change is coming soon.
Can anyone confirm or deny the Trib's report that it was people throwing rocks and not gunfire? Or is this the new "it's heat exhaustion -- not West Side shithead invasion"?
Why haven't the US and City flags been flown at the Academy in over two weeks?
Did someone drop the ball?
Practice , practice, practice. There have been a lot of missed 'opportunities' lately. You guys need to practice.
For the budget minded.
Jail time = 1,000's of tax $$$
Bullet = $1.00
Dead bad guy = PRICELESS!!

YOU are an idiot, first you say that the officers were hit with punitive damages for something that they weren't even on the scene for, then you bast us for working.
So...it just goes to show you, you can not even be on a scene and still get sued. The biggest lawsuits I know are against mutts like you that don't work.
In over 20+ years on the job I have never seen my coworkers as furious as they are now. Rahms Pension visit to Springfield absolutely infuriated even the "Company Men" on the watch. By this time next week our anger and frustration could really bite the city in the ass. People are done with this corrupt arrogance.
To 8 am They that equation out with cameras and meter maids. If you want to hurt them now case eport every job and a arrest everyday stay down and jam up the courtrooms with public drinkers and one rock arrest no revenue for city. I listen to cops everyday get five event numbers at once everyone should take you at least 15 min. And I'm not a dog if there is a assist or legitimate call I go to it then go back to my job. if you do your job exactly to general orders you should be down all day

We are over the barrel with the pension business. The city knows we ain't doing shit about it. Mikey Shields already sold out. He will head for the door when this term is up. We can't strike, we can't do shit about it.

REPLY:
All of us new hires are paying equally into the pension since day 1. That's been a question for awhile. As for the 100 or so that are supposed to hit the academy next month...? Guess we'll see.
i've paid in for over 25yrs
and i thought it worked like if you pay in it's yours when you need it
THAT is NOT the case
if you apply for ssi or s/s i was told your NOT "entitled" to it
so i'm "mystified" how 5th and 6th
genarations collect welfare and s/s
and have never even seen the inside of a job
when i worked inn chicago ( a lot by thomas and springfield and iowas and pulaski areas)
i would see people sitting all day
on the porch waiting for the mail man with check
then off to get a "40 ounzer" and bag of krack
The time has come for us to demand a casino in Chicago. Also, the tracks have been trying to get slots for 2 years now. Why the stall? A casino and slots would bring in millions and millions of revenue .
Rahm , cut alderman to 20 , cut gold braid bill , pay $$$$ the city owes to pension funds for the last 40 years , collect millions of $$ or shut off water to ghetto suburbs , cut welfare , gas , electric and housing subsidies to low income citizens before you raise pension contributions & age , or reduce pension benefits
Use $$ from traffic tickets to fund pensions , build a casino
get rid of every Illegal Immigrant that are costing tax payers $$ in education , health and police services before you reduce pension benefits for the working class .
Rahm has doubled water bills , raised city vehicle license fees , tax on plastic water bottles etc.
Vote in november , send a message that working class people have had enough of paying for dead beats.
Off topic, but a question I wanted to ask:
Is Andy Thayer, the Loevy & Loevy guy who is "in charge" of Occupy or whatever, related to Spencer Thayer, who runs ChicagoCopWatch.org, a site that he claims is a "police accountability" site??
Have a look at this guy --
"A Chicago man who led police on a televised multi-suburb chase in a hijacked taxi last year before crashing into a school bus was found guilty on all charges...He could be sentenced to life in prison.
"Larry Hampton, 45, of the 10000 block of South Prairie Avenue, was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking, multiple counts of aggravated robbery and battery, following a January 2011 robbery, vehicular hijacking, and police chase that started in Des Plaines and ended in Chicago.
"Hampton fired his public defenders...and acted as his own defense attorney.
"It took the jury less than two hours on Wednesday to reach its guilty verdict..."

The bullpens are full of 'em. The prison buses roll.

You can't stop it, either. There's an army of "community activists" and "reverends" who will yell "Genocide!"
...and pick up their grant check.
025, another UNO "charter school" going up fast on the former Illinois Gear Works property at Natchez and McLean (McLean very narrow, runs on north side of Milwaukee Road tracks). Fancy mirror-glass wedge thing.
Boy, is that gonna be a pick-up-the-kids traffic jam in that tiny little corner every day.
Billboard there with names of Quinn and Emanuel and Soliz and Munoz and you name it.
Gracias!
This fuckin major is now trying to get other city's majors on the same boat with pension reform. We can't have this! If it passes we need to file class action law suit. I joined police department 15 years ago for that very reason ..pension and benefits. It would be illegal to change it now.
OT: No mention of all the dumpster fires the other nite on the northside. I bet when NATO comes around the corner, you will have plenty of anarchist doing stuff like this to tie up both Fireman and police away from downtown.

1236 AM is right on the money, dumbass. POs that had "nothing to do with nothing" get picked out of photo lineups all the time. Unless you were RDO on the date and time in question, and there's no irrefutable proof that you werent on or near the location claimed by the plaintiff, get ready for the city to settle to make it all go away. It's always cheaper to throw a mutt a few grand than 10s of thousands on litigation, AND THAT'S A FACT. I won't go into details about this particular case, because while I know firsthand the hows, wheres and whys, its none of my business to make it public info on this blog. And you must be new to this police thing, kid, cuz "mutts" on the job usually DON'T get sued. But your hard charging ass wouldn't know anything about that, cuz you're too smart for your own good. I'll see you at your benefit - cuz you're a likely candidate for stepping on your dick.
"The police officer involved had stopped at a Walgreens, 2340 W. Madison St., for a bottle of water.."
There's the real crime...buying a bottle of water in the city. Do you know how much that stuff is TAXED?!?

Because our 3rd watch is full of the biggest dogs in the fucking city. We have raps every day and there are hardly any jobs. They don't back anyone up. The dinosaurs on 2nd watch are more reliable than the nitwits on 3rd watch.
Oh and we have a car sitting at 63rd and Woodlawn to babysit the mental health clinic and we have to babysit the gang bangers at 65th and Drexel because they keep fucking getting shot.

off topic. SCC, could you remind the officers that the murderers of Clifton Lewis will appear in court at 26 and cal in room 206 on this Friday,11 May 12. The family appreciates the police presense and support greatly. All tact supervisors will be at HQ for NATO meeting, so we cannot attend court. If present, please take off overshirt so that the family can see a field of blue. Thanks...this weekend would have been Cliff's birthday...
9am court time for Lewis' murderers if I did not say that the 1st e-mail.

I was at the Medical Section today and was told we had to swipe in. Does anybody know what that's about?
I also found out that the Medical Section will be closed 16 May 12 - 24 May 12 because of NATO. So this means any P.O's that need to have their treatments and procedures approved are out of luck.
Does this mean if you're hurt at NATO and you want to go on IOD do you have to wait until the 24th?
Bulls just lost in Philly. Bye.

Actually there is a lot we can do about it. We can band together for once, we can pressure the Union to fight this battle like they have never fought before. We can take ourselves to the Aldermen's offices, the State Reps. office and drown them in phone calls, letters and visits making our voting intentions clearly known. We can all get our non voting butts and our family and friends to the polls and vote these mutts out of office. Lets do something!!!!!

Nearly half a century of this in that area now. Billions of dollars worth of "programs" and "grants" poured out onto the sand to disappear. Still the same.
Hell, worse.
