How About "No-Go" Zones
We wouldn't blame CFD if they created a bunch of "no-go" zones for assholes like these:
- Two people were arrested this afternoon for fighting with paramedics trying to treat their relative in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
An ambulance and a fire truck responded to a call of a medical emergency in the 7900 block of South Loomis Boulevard at 3:15 p.m., according to department spokesman Joe Roccasalva.
While paramedics were treating the sick person, a quarrel erupted among the patient’s family members, who then began fighting with the paramedics.
“The firemen held them off until police got there and took them into custody,’’ Roccasalva said.
The patient was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, and no other injuries were reported, according to Roccasalva.
Why bother attempting to help people like this? They obviously don't want you there. We should make every effort to accommodate people like these.

I worked in 006 over twenty years ago. Morons were fighting with fireman back then. They only did it once. But this was back in the day, long before the hand-holding of felons was encouraged and rewarded by city officials.
I've long maintained that every municipality should create a "Do Not Service" list for abusers of any municipal function.

Whenever anyone calls 911 or 311, that address requesting service is checked against the list...
"We're sorry ma'am, but we cannot dispatch an ambulance to that address. The last time we did, the EMS workers were attacked and because of that, you were entered on the 'Do Not Service: EMS' list for a period of one year... I can provide you a number for a private service..."

But if it were a "Nobody's Going" Zone, I could live with that!
Maybe we should give each address in the city two calls per year...I'd bet a lot of this nonsense would stop.
You know we can post circumstances like this all day long but it has not made a diference. We all know how the entitled act. It's gonna come to a head, hopefully we have the strength to get the word out. There are a lot of NO GO ZONES! But we go, pensions, medical or not. More has to be done! Just set up a few fortified paramedic kiosk in the Ghetto neighborhoods. If the assholes want one of their own to be treated they can transport the fool to one of these outpost for treatment.

All calls from bogus cellphones should not be answered. These phones should be shut off .
I donno, sometimes they just want the police to take their family member to the hospital.. Because the police ride is free, unlike the ambulance ride.
We need to shoot them with a tranquilizer rifle first like they do with dangerous species in the wild.

And aint it a bitch that all the ghetto firehouses are staffed with advanced life support paramedic rigs -- ambulances and fire companies -- yet in some white taxpaying neighborhoods on the north and northwest side there are still firehouses staffed with just non-paramedic Basic Life Support rigs as first responders. Why Dat Be? Talk about disparity.

Yes there are a bunch of assholes and there definitely should be "NO-GO ZOENS". BUT.... the CFD needs to stop forcing treatment on these people. I got a job of a person down last week. 2 minutes later they updated it to assist fire because the person that was down is now UP and tussling with them. Why? Because they were trying to force him to get in the ambulance and go to the hospital. WHY?!?!? The job is a "person down". Once that person is up, your job is finished. If that person says "I'm fine get the hell away from me" then THATS WHAT YOU DO! And then fire expects you to swoop in there and start fighting with this guy. I'm not "uh uh not happenin". Hey CFD! Stop trying to kidnap these assholes and take them to the hospital! Walk away!

Same thing happens in the suburbs, even the most expensive ones. Family dynamics are a big part of paramedic calls, especially the ones that occur at weddings or when Grandma falls ill at the family reunion. Liquor, guilt, family rivalries - all part of the recipe for a bad situation. Any paramedic who has not been in the middle of one of these fights doesn't have much time on.
If the CFD paramedics can't handle silly shit like this they should move on. Plenty of other medics waiting to take their jobs.

that's what these animals do everyday. they test us to the max so we can lose our cool and composure. they want us to so they can get paid. simple solution would be to give them the minimal medical attention and then leave them be. don't be that guy to drive by the idiots and then get caught not doing your job. as soon as they refuse then we're out of there. be safe police and fire because we all know how crazy it is out there. it is definitely its own world that no one understands unless you're unfortunate enough to experience it first hand.

Why bother? Walgreens is slowly taking over routine medical care anyway. Check blood pressure, give flu vaccinations, etc.

Busy. Was over there yesterday afternoon and passed two scenes -- one with officers in alley, ETs around. Another one, street arrest Cermak and East, plainclothes, K9s, wagon.
Berwyn PD has "Video Surveillance Unit." I think someone donated a Brinks truck -- it's unreal. Put this thing on the block, it'll move the bidness around the corner, I ga-ron-tee. I mean, they would move out of the house with this out front all the time.
