Limo Wilding
Four men who got out of a white stretch limo in Wrigleyville and began beating people were filming a rap video and had been taunted by passersby, including with racial slurs, their relatives said Monday.
Prosecutors, however, contend the four men began beating people “for no apparent reason.” One of the victims had his jaw broken in the melee, police said.
Relatives of the men claim the video being shot by the men will prove the case that they were being taunted. One relative claimed someone grabbed one of the men before the beatings. The men had borrowed the white limo from a friend to film the video — and had chosen Wrigleyville for a “celebratory shot.”
The four were charged early Monday with the beatings that left four injured — including a police officer.
We can hardly wait for the Taste mayhem.

in all my years on this department i thought i have seen it all. well here is a doozy... a sergeant of police observes the new 3W secretary who is also a male uniformed police officer in public transportion wearing hanging earrings during his tour. said sgt goes into the commander's office and relates what he observed. the commander tells the sgt not to say anything to the uniformed male police officer because he is here on a phone call! WTF is happening to this department?

"Simmons was out of jail on bail for a felony cannabis conviction. He has five previous felony convictions, two of them gun-related. He was convicted of possession of a bomb or grenade and also has a felony narcotics conviction on his record. He has a misdemeanor conviction for resisting police.
"Donald Robinson was released from prison on Jan. 3, 2012 and was on parole for a felony DUI charge. He has eight felony convictions including narcotics offenses, burglary and an escape charge. He has misdemeanor charges of possession of cannabis and reckless conduct.
"Edward Robinson was on parole for aggravated robbery, for which he was sentenced to 7 years. He has previous convictions for armed robbery.
"Goffin has a previous gun conviction."
Saw the families on Channel 7 ( well moms, of course, no dads) I know the moms aren't smoking crack, since everyone I saw was over 200 lbs.
How does one taunt someone driving past in a limo? Now you cannot see into most limos, so I assume to be taunted you must be hanging out of the moon/sun roof.
So the persons hanging out of roof were probably just giving greetings to all around and perhaps commenting to the women that perhaps they would see them at church service this weekend.

They printed the mom's excuses........so what? I find it amusing. The creativity of excusing criminal behavior almost always makes me chuckle. Not guffaw, just chuckle.
I can think of vaguely similar excuses I've heard for cops who get into trouble on or off duty. "Private school tuition is expensive. They needed the money from the tow truck driver". Shit.
As for the race of the arrested that's obvious from the mug shots the papers printed.
Now those of you who suggest the media is slower in printing stories like this than SCC that's true. SCC and other blogs get immediate tips which can go out immediately. The media largely has to wait for our media affairs stooges to give out the info or prod them for it after they pick up hints of it here or via the scanner.
Here's my likely scenario for what happened on Clark. The wannabee rap artists were hanging out of the limo roof and windows and acting like fools. Some drunk said something to them or they perceived said drunk saying something and they went into ghetto/prison R E S P E C T mode.
These guys aren't paragons of self control. Their criminal records show idiocy piled atop criminal idiocy.
It all likely went down in less than 1-2 minutes except for the actual physical aspects of the arrests. There is a cop SUV basically planted just south of the Cubby Bear during busy hours there and a handful of guys doing foot patrol. Add in bikes and there is more police presence there than on Rahm's front lawn.
Since the lead idiot was shirtless when he was arrested he was likely running around challenging people and swinging wildly. R E S P E C T.
