NY Post Makes Fun of Rahm
Direct comparisons are always tricky, of course. But when it comes to causality, it’s no secret that aggressive policing can make a huge difference.
And Chicago’s approach is decidedly more laid-back than New York’s.
It doesn’t use stop-and-frisk to counter its gang-fueled violence — but it does publicly plead with its criminals to move their crimes someplace else, so no one besides the intended victim gets hurt.
Really.“[If] we’ve got two gangbangers, one standing next to a kid, get away from that kid,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel told CBS News.
“Take your stuff away to the alley. Don’t touch the children of the city of Chicago. Don’t get near them.”This is what passes for crime-fighting in the Windy City?

Rahms stupidity is becoming more apparent as time goes on. It won't be long till he starts using "Dem Guyz" and all the other phrases marking his predecessor's skill as a public orator. One year served and he's become an Ass of National Fame.
Rahm has no concept of inner city life and it’s pathetic. He was born in Chicago but his family fled to suburban Wilmette where he learned to ballet dance. He and Obama are nothing but carpetbaggers out to make themselves millionaires at the tax payers expense. For Rahm to tell gangbangers to take their violence to the alleys is ludicrous. Rahm…..come to my alley! Just so you know families are now using alleys as playgrounds and patios. In my neighborhood it’s parties with loud music till 2am, kids playing basketball or children running up and down and on bicycles. There are also cars blocking the alley because my ignorant neighbors are either washing them or doing mechanical work, or congregating with other assholes. When I pull my car out of my garage it’s an adventure trying to get out. Calling 911 is fruitless because police are shorthanded and backlogged with numerous service calls. If Rahm wants to generate some revenue start ticketing these cars that park in the alley. I’m a lifelong Chicago taxpayer ready to move out!
Is this what is being called on the defense...unbelievable...un-really, unbelievable. Crime stops with tactics not with stupidity.

The headline in the NY Post says it all. Chicago is being led by pussies, both the mayor and his lap dog police superintendent, McCarthy.
Rahm is the type of person who, when he was a kid, must have said things like "I'd fight you, but I have my good clothes on."
McCarthy, on the other hand, is at his desk with his box of crayons trying to figure out who to blame next. What a moron.
The answer is not so difficult. Let the police be the police and hire more of them. Back them up and let them do their job. Get rid of incompetent supervisors, although this may be difficult, but not impossible.
Of course there would be rantings from some of the community, such as Jesse Jackson and Father Fruit and other store front preachers. The answer to them has to be a big FUCK YOU.
It is the proper "Progressive Liberal" response...except now it is happening in our lakeview fantasy land. This is unnacceptable, have the evil police push them back to the south and west sides, Gently of course.

20 years of Daley is what did in the department. Once we were the most aggressive department in the nation. He cut the nuts off by appointing incompetent, politically connected idiots to command posts. It finally took root a few years back and now the once proud department is a joke.

As the economy continues to collapse, there will be nowhere to hide. I've done better than most, and have survived fairly well these past few years, but I see it crumbling around us and I fear for our children. The numbers aren't adding up, and the political policies are failing.

Rahm thought he didn't need any police. He thought he could save billions of dollars by cutting the police department to the bone. Now he knows better. I got news for you Rahm. You're a one term mayor. Even the idiots that voted you in the first time aren't dumb enough to do it again, and they're pretty dumb.

The liberal, cop hating assholes have ruined this city with their idiotic policies. Now the average person living in this city can see for themselves because they WiLL be victims at some point if they venture out into the city, even the high profile areas.

Much of this current situation can be attributed to the touchy-feeley, happy face "Community Policing" nonsense that we were force fed starting in the early 90's. Most of us knew it wouldn't work but HAD to play that game. We softened our approach to policing and this is the cost we and the "good" citizens (there are some left I believe) are now forced to endure.
As police officers we know that the further a pendulum swings in one direction the further it has to swing in the other direction to achieve equilibrium. Anything less equals failure.
The future former superintendent knows this, the one term midget, digitally deficient, mayor knows this and We Know This!

What I didn't get about Rahm's comments was the "stay away from the kids .... take your stuff into the alley" remark. Does that mean if two gangbangers are killing each other, that's okay??? What if an adult is "collateral damage" - is that okay too??? Makes me want to visit Chicago some time soon.

I used to take out the trash when I got off working 4-12. But times have changed and, yes, I carry when I take garbage out and when I go out to the car to get something. Guns's in the pocket and hand's on the gun butt. If I have a problem, I'll shoot through the pocket.
